Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Trapping the Corrupt Teacher
Rei still looked at Lucas with suspicion, though deep down, she felt a glimmer of hope. "What do you mean by trapping him with his own corruption?"
Lucas leaned back in his chair with a relaxed expression. "Asano has been abusing his authority to hold you back, right? That means he must have made unfair decisions before. We just need to prove it with undeniable evidence."
Rei narrowed her eyes. "Easy to say, but hard to do. He always hides his dirty intentions behind school rules."
Lucas gave a small smile. "Yeah, but no one is perfect. People who are too confident in their power usually make mistakes. We just need to lure him into doing something we can record or prove."
Rei seemed to be thinking. "So… you want him to trap himself?"
Lucas nodded. "Exactly. But I'll need your help to pull it off."
Rei was still hesitant but eventually nodded. "Alright. I'll do whatever it takes to get rid of him."
Lucas smirked in satisfaction. "Good. Now we need a plan."
Step One: Baiting Asano
Lucas and Rei decided to use one of the school's academic programs as a way to trap Asano. Rei planned to apply for a prestigious academic project run by the school—something the administration shouldn't be able to reject.
"I'm sure Asano will try to deny my application," Rei said. "He always finds an excuse."
"That's exactly what we want," Lucas replied. "When he does, we need to record or gather evidence that he's acting unfairly."
Rei stared at Lucas for a moment. "Are you sure this will work?"
Lucas grinned confidently. "Of course. I'm not the type to make half-baked plans."
With that, Rei submitted her application for the academic project. Just as expected, Asano immediately rejected it without a clear reason.
"You don't meet the criteria," Asano said coldly when Rei confronted him in the teacher's office.
Rei clenched her fists. "But I meet all the requirements!"
Asano simply smirked. "You have no right to question a teacher's decision."
What Asano didn't realize was that their conversation was being secretly recorded by Lucas, who was standing just outside the office with a voice recorder in his pocket.
As Rei walked out, clearly frustrated, Lucas simply smiled. "Good. Now we have our first piece of evidence."
Step Two: Spreading the Evidence
Lucas and Rei couldn't report Asano directly without consequences. If they did it openly, the school might try to cover it up.
Instead, Lucas took a more cunning approach—anonymously spreading the recording to several students. In no time, rumors about Asano began to circulate.
Students started talking about how he abused his authority, and some even shared their own experiences of the injustices he had committed.
Lucas grinned in satisfaction. "Now, we just have to wait for the school to react."
