Chapter 136: Ash concrete prospective plan
"Wait, won't that give us the ability to manufacture or something?" Sean asked bewildered by Lucas's idea.
They were becoming a manufacturing facility day by day and there seemed to be no stop for the diversity of products made.
"Did you get one after making the planks? No right? Then why would we get one now?"
"First it was the wooden planks, fiber ropes, and the axe heads and spear, but they were important for the shelter. Yet this time, it seems like an overburdening task, Lucas." Bill said from the sidelines while taking a gulp of his saliva.
"You all got problems but don't you see the upside of this situation? If we were to make a trade of these concrete bricks with others, it would be a gold mine in a place like this where a good living accommodation is a necessity!" Lucas was getting annoyed with all these questions.
He had the habit of just getting his ideas approved and doing the work yet this time almost everyone seemed a bit against the idea.
"But we don't have time. With the stuff we need to upgrade the shelter again and our training. Do you think it will be a good idea?" Haley chimed in.
The people who did not speak much were coming after him one by one and Lucas only became grumpier.
"Fine, you don't want to help? Then I will do it on my own in exchange for you all will be making the material for the shelter upgrade, alright?"
"'But we do it without you anyway."
"Just say yes and we can move forward. We don't have a lot of free time as you have stated before." Lucas got up with the blueprint for his concrete and moved outside making the others talk with each other for a while.
"Do you think it's a good idea, Uncle John?" Sandra asked John while taking a sip of the rejuvenation potion from a refined-looking cup.
Since the abundance of the liquid had made the storage full of potions. The potion was now used as a good fragrant tea that also helped make the impurities get outside everyone's body.
The potion was much more popular among the women rather the men as with each consumption, their faces and bodies were looking younger and younger until even Ella who was a 44 year old lady and a mother of two started looking like a 30 year old.
"I don't know right now, but Lucas is the leader so if he wants to make this stuff, me and my family will support him completely."
Jerry's groups looked at each other and started whispering among them. There was an imaginary line splitting the shelter civilians into two different groups.
The two segregated groups had two different leaders. The first one was John and his family with Sarah who stayed among themselves most of the time.
And then there were Jerry's groups whose people were comfortable with their original group.
Above these two groups was Lucas who was the owner of the shelter which was his skill to begin with. No one, not even John knew if Lucas could make the shelter vanish just like any other skill.
It was an understatement that even if the shelter's inhabitants may have been living together with a sense of gratitude and force, there were still some gaps between them emotionally. Jerry's groups had just joined Lucas and the others around a month ago and they were pretty reserved.
Mike and Jerry may talk with John and Lucas a lot but other than them, there was not much contact between the two groups.
Lucas knew about all this as he could see and feel like a normal human being or also the fact that John specially stated the fact to him. But he didn't care as long as there was peace and he was at the top of the hierarchy.
One of the reasons Lucas was so adamant about getting strong was to be the strongest among everyone inside the shelter or even outside.
He was still considered the strongest if taking the fact out that the long-range users had not sparred with him even once but there was only a small margin between him and some of the few powerful people of the shelter.
Find adventures at empire
After Lucas got out of the shelter, he went inside his personal workshop to have some peace of mind and to also contact some of his best advisors in the world.
-"Hey honey, How is your day going? Have you slept well? Have you eaten well? Are you okay living with so many people? Why aren't you speaking, Lucas? Are you okay?!"-
Lucas massaged his head with half annoyance half happiness. His mother was a total lunatic when it came to the family making Lucas sure where he got this trait from.
"I am perfectly fine Mom and looks like Dad is on a leveling spree huh?" Lucas remarked with a light chuckle. The list was in front of him and he could look at his sister's and parents levels easily.
While his sister was still level 7, just two levels behind Lucas, his mother was at level 6 while his father was at 12 making him wonder what opportunities the man had been getting.
-"Oh you know, just your dad being your dad. He might have been going a little overboard but as long as he is safe and having fun, it's all good."-
Lucas made some small talk with happiness, he had already called her before, and let's just say it was hours wasted on top of a lot of waste.
Lucas told her everything about the new blueprint and as for how he got it, Lucas only told her that it was from a dungeon's chest which his mother took in as new information without being suspicious at all.
-"This could be a good opportunity! What is the amount you can make in an hour? What's the status like? Do you think it can be used in making some concrete hoses?"-
'There she goes again...'
"Stop... Stop... Alright enough! Listen to me." Lucas finally lost his cool after listening to his mother just go on and on with her questions.
"I only got the blueprint just a while ago so no, I haven't started with anything. Second, I need some raw material to make it that I don't have around."
-"And what would that be?"-
"I got all the stuff aside from the lime. Like, how do I even get lime in this unknown forest? Does lime even grow here? I am a bit confused, Mom."
"Honey, listen. I might not know much about this material but I know some facts here and there. First, if you don't get anything close enough to lime which I can't tell you as I don't know a single thing about chemistry, you can just use something citrus till you find a lead. It may sound dumb but trial runs can have a great impact on the outcome. You just try it and tell me how it went, okay?
Lucas sighed but couldn't help but smile at his mother's advice. She had a point, even if it seemed too obvious.
-"And I don't think your small group had a good reaction to this new 'production' you are trying to start."-
"Heh, nothing hides from you."
-"Well what can I say, I would have been the same. There are too many variables to tell whether this is a good idea or not. But you should follow what you think is right, Lucas. Don't take anyone's advice to heart and go with your gut."-
"Thanks, Mom, If I make the concrete brick successfully, I will send it to you for inspection."
-"Always there for you son."-
Lucas kept talking with her until the conversation of how there was a gap between the people in the shelter came up.
"Lucas, there is only so much you can do about it. You can't force people to get along with each other, this is not worth the time and effort. Just remember, dear, that being a leader means not only being strong but also being wise and understanding. Take the time to listen to others and try to find common ground. You have a good heart, Lucas, don't forget that,"- his mother advised.
"I would like to believe that."
With a bit of heartwarming motivation and advice, Lucas disconnected the call and had a chat with his sister to make sure that she was alright.
Turns out, the goblins were nowhere to be found and her group focused solely on leveling their skills. Her level may have been less but her skill progression was progressing great with one of her skills already in the 3rd level.
Lucas was very happy for him and after talking for about 10 minutes, he disconnected the call and went with his study.
Lucas already knew a very useful fact that even if making the potions repetitively helped him increase his proficiency little by little.
But discovering new and complex recipes helped him gain a better amount of proficiencies.
For example- the rejuvenation potion gave him around 20 percent of his potions brewing proficiency.
