Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 137: The technique book

Lucas made a batch of rejuvenation potion, a batch of normal-grade mana potion, and some dirty water from the nails just for increasing the skill's proficiency.

Lucas then went to Sean's small workshop, there were many rocks on the ground with scribbles inscribed everywhere. Lucas let him be as he was in too much concentration, Sean didn't even realize that Lucas was there with him.

'I should go and spar with Jerry first.'

Lucas thought and took his sword out before moving, his left eye was still not working but he had grown a bit accustomed to it.

The walks, jogs, and sprints had helped Lucas in growing accustomed to the blindness.

His distance ratio had also perfected to some extent and he felt even keener to his surroundings and dangers now that he could not look at one side of his whole vision.

Like always, Jerry agreed to sparring with Lucas but today was a bit different.

"Dual wielding today? Is your eye okay now? I can still see it white you know." Jerry remarked, his shield ready to smash at Lucas anytime.

"Nah, just for a change."

SWOOSH!

Lucas ran and cleared the distance between Jerry and him with many quick steps. His sprint had become very fast now that his muscles were bigger, his level higher and the rejuvenation potion doing its wonders.

CLANG!!

Both the swords hit Jerry's shield and Lucas tried to pressure Jerry to back away.

It was a very arrogant attack as he knew Jerry could stop him even if he placed all his strength on one point.

"Haha, let's see how you dodge this now."

Jerry smirked and while pressuring the two swords into submission with his big surface-area shield, he used his other hand which had a metallic gauntlet fit properly to attack Lucas right in the face, it was going to hurt a lot but Jerry knew Lucas could take it.

Lucas knew what was going to happen as his thought process had increased by some folds since the level-ups and increase of the intelligence stat.

He still didn't understand what the intelligence stat did, even after so many increases in it, Lucas still didn't think his mind had become fast aside from situations like these.

He activated his perceptive eye skill, the light tried to get inside his left eye alas there was no life in it so all the skill's power transferred to Lucas's right eye.

'This is soo good!' Lucas giggled excitedly inwardly, he had used the skill before to train it and got to know how efficient his skill had become.

Lucas dodged the attack without much thought making Jerry freeze from shock for a second. Then Lucas looked around fast and with a light smirk on his face, he kicked Jerry's leg with all his might.

CRACK

THUD

Jerry grunted and fell to his knees. His shin was damaged and his right knee was cracked in half.

Lucas was looking at Jerry with a pride-filled heart yet he shook his face to make his thought process decisive and active, with double the power on one eye and the other not working, Lucas saw things much clear than before.

After some level increase of the perceptive eye skill. He had the ability to predict the moves of the enemies to some extent but the force on his eye was extensive, while Lucas smiled, a drop of blood fell from his eye like a tear.

"Couldn't you have gone a bit easy on me?" Jerry said in between grunts but his condition mentally was way better than his physical condition.

"If I hadn't dodged your attack, many of my bones in the face might have broke already and you want me to go easy on you? Keep wishing." Lucas placed both his swords inside the scabbards around his waist and gave a hand to Jerry.

Even if Lucas didn't have any vision in his left eye, his ability to adapt had made many jealous and covet it with envy.

They both went to Ella who without any wait first healed Jerry who had to keep a piece of wood in his mouth.

When the healing was over, the pop sound came again making them know that the bone was now in its original place.

But the pain was scream-worthy and the newly discovered old technique of keeping a piece of wood and biting on it came in handy with these kinds of wounds.

After he was done, the daily routine of Lucas started in which he had already given the quota of training to his many skills and only some of them were left.

He was healed for an hour and still, Lucas didn't feel a single point of healing in his vision.

"Things have become much simpler, Lucas." Ella interrupted Lucas's thought progress.

"Since my skill upgraded, my sensitivity to the anatomy of the human body and how much it is wounded has heightened further. All the flesh inside your eye socket is healed, and even your nerves have regenerated and are connected to the eye like they are supposed to. It's just the eyeball and the pupil that is taking time to be formed back."

"Just how long do you think it will take?"

"3 or 4 days more I think."

Lucas made a grumpy face while he went to his thought progresses again but Ella didn't let him.

FLICK

Lucas tilted his head in confusion when he saw Ella holding a finger in her hand as if it was hurt, it was the same finger that she had used to flick at Lucas's forehead.

"Anyway, do you think this is normal? If we were back where we are supposed to be and you were hurt, it wouldn't have regenerated like this, Lucas. You should already be grateful that your eye will one day regain its vision again."

Lucas kept looking at her and after some small talk, he went out of the shelter for further training.

'I really have forgotten what it was like. My eye wouldn't have healed if we were back on Earth... I should be grateful...' Lucas thought.

Things may have become a bit iffy here but still, being healed like this, drinking potions which could make their bodies healthy and further their growth. Being able to use skills that were just some fantasy myth on Earth.

Lucas was grateful for being transported to such a place, he was always an outsider wherever he went, his interests were way different than the average and since the transport, people now have to forcefully do things that Lucas gets excited to do if given the chance.

Lucas continued his training outside the shelter, pushing himself to improve his combat skills further.

He practiced with his swords, honing his techniques and trying out different maneuvers. He also worked on his physical conditioning, performing rigorous exercises to strengthen his body.

As hours passed, Lucas realized changes in his combat abilities. His reflexes were sharper, and he could anticipate his opponent's moves more effectively.

He also felt more connected to his surroundings, thanks to his heightened senses which made him wonder if his perceptive eyes were now working passively too.

"Damnit!" Lucas realized something and exclaimed loudly getting the attention of many.

"You scared me, damn bastard," Mike said with annoyance. "Wha is it?"

"With so much equipment in the storage, we are forgetting the ones that we can use right now! The body strengthening techniques!" Lucas said and ran excitedly toward the shelter's storage making many chuckle or shake their head.

Lucas went and tried to find the book inside the storage.

"Fuck, it's too full!"

There is a saying that humans can't be satisfied even if they have the most luxurious stuff with them.

Have a big fridge? Still have a feeling to buy an even bigger one after even the big fridge got full.
Experience exclusive tales on empire

It was not Lucas's fault but his human genetics to always want more and the only way to suppress it is to work with it alas Lucas didn't even know that he had this problem to begin with.

Lucas finally found the book under a pile of random weapons that ranged from axes to bows. They were all the things Jerry's groups brought with them and the ones that they got from the dungeon.

The book was slightly bigger than normal and its weight was around a few kilos making Lucas wonder how many pages it had.

"Holy shit."

The cover was hard so he couldn't curve and move the pages faster but due to his perception skill, he was able to tell that there were around a thousand pages in it.

Lucas skimmed through them and saw the writing was in another language but most of the pages were filled with pictures depicting a humanoid figure moving in different positions stretching itself just like yoga.

That's when Lucas realized why the technique could increase the strength of the user, it was going to stretch and build muscles in order to be more efficient in movements.

Just like that, the insect of learning in Lucas started getting excited.
