Chapter 183: Meet & Talk (5)
Throughout the rest of the game portion, more cast members' close-up photos were guessed. There were Yura's beauty mark, Seojin's earlobe with her signature pearl stud, and Haejin's long fingers that everyone agreed looked like they were made for the piano.
Each winner got a photo and a short moment with their favorite star, and the excitement of everyone only grew.
Laughter, cheers, and even some happy tears filled the venue. It felt as if they were just spending time with friends rather than celebrities.
It was a new experience for all of them.
When the lights dimmed slightly once more and the screen flashed the last slide for today's event, Dami clapped her hands gently to gather the crowd's attention for the last time.
"Now… before we end today's event," she said with a softer tone, "we have one final segment. This time, it's the cast's turn to give something back to all of you."
The audience quieted down slightly in curiosity.
"Each of our five cast members has personally prepared a small gift as a token of appreciation for your support. That means there will be five different kinds of gifts. They're all handpicked or handmade, and bought using their own money and time."
A few gasps echoed in the venue.
"They've each prepared 200 gifts. That's right, 200 per cast member. That's 1,000 gifts in total!"
The crowd erupted again.
"No freaking way—"
"They really used their own money???"
"I'm gonna sob omg that's so thoughtful"
"This cast is built different"
"I'm getting teary eyed."
"This is so sweet!"
"Nooo… I can't… I'll cry."
"I just fell in love with the cast more."
"This is one of my favorite dramas now."
When the cast heard it, they couldn't help but laugh.
They were also in disbelief that they were able to produce 200 gifts for each. However, contrary to what Dami said, the production studio gave them a set of budget for the gift.
However, if it passed that budget, they were required to pay with their own money, which all of them did.
"We just wanted to do something small… to say thank you." Minjae, who was seated at the center of the stage, smiled at everyone as he said those words.
"We worked hard on picking and packing everything ourselves," Yura added warmly. "So, I hope you all liked it."
"It's not super fancy, but it's from our hearts." Jihoon gave a thumbs-up to the crowd.
"Now, because we have a limited quantity," Dami explained, "each attendee will only be able to receive one gift, and it will be from one cast member. You'll choose who you want to receive it from at the collection table after the event."
A collective gasp, followed by shrieks of stress, swept the room.
"Only one?! how do I even choose??"
"My soul says Minjae but my brain says Jihoon's might be snacks…"
"I want Yura's!!! but also… seojin's… ughhh"
"Do i go for my bias or the prettiest wrapping???"
"Ahhh! I don't know how to choose!"
"Guys, what do I do?"
"Please keep it fair," Dami added gently. "There are enough gifts for everyone to take one, but remember, it's first-come, first-served by line section."
The staff nodded from the sidelines, preparing to organize the post-event distribution.
"I hope you all like them," Haejin finally said, his tone soft but sincere.
"We packed everything ourselves last night," Seojin added. "It was fun… and exhausting."
The crowd laughed and applauded, touched by the cast's sincerity.
"Don't worry! We will!"
"We'll be fair!"
"We'll make sure everyone gets one!"
Minjae glanced at the crowd, his eyes sweeping over the glowing banners and countless waving hands, and his expression softened.
"I hope whoever you choose brings you happiness."
"You're going to make people cry again, hyung," Jihoon said, nudging him lightly.
"Too late," someone in the crowd shouted. "I'm already crying!"
"Same here!"
"I haven't even seen the gifts, but I already know I'm framing mine!"
Lee Dami smiled, allowing a moment for the cheers and laughter to settle before she raised her mic again.
"Alright, everyone. This brings us to the end of today's special event."
A chorus of groans echoed through the venue.
"Noooo!"
"Already?!"
"We need part two!"
"Make this a regular thing, please!"
The cast chuckled.
"We really had so much fun today. Thank you for coming, and for loving our drama. We'll keep working hard so that you'll be proud of us." Minjae leaned toward the mic again, gently laughing.
"I didn't think this would be this fun. I thought I'd be awkward, but you guys made this unforgettable." Jihoon added. He was really happy with how the event concluded.
It was a memorable experience for him to be part of this cast.
"Thank you for cheering us on. I saw so many supportive faces out there. You gave us so much energy." Yura smiled brightly.
For sure, today's event will be stuck in her memory for days.
"It's not easy standing in front of so many people, but today… it felt warm. So thank you." Seojin nodded.
While looking at the supporters, Seojin can't help but be thankful. She thought that she should work even harder when there was a crowd like this that was supporting them.
"I didn't expect this kind of welcome," Haejin said with a soft smile. "But I'm glad I was part of it. Thank you for supporting us."
Deep in his heart, Haejin was really grateful to be part of this project. He initially thought that their project wouldn't do good, but it was the opposite instead.
"We'll do our best until the very last episode," Minjae promised, his gaze steady, heartfelt. "So please keep watching."
The crowd clapped, some became teary-eyed, while some were still laughing and cheering from the earlier chaos.
Lee Dami stepped forward once more.
"Thank you again for being such a passionate audience today. Please exit row by row as directed by the staff, and don't forget—stop by the collection tables to receive your gift before you leave! Be safe and we hope to see you again!"
Music began to play softly in the background as the lights dimmed slightly over the stage.
Fans reluctantly got to their feet, looking back one last time to wave at the cast, who were standing now, bowing in unison to their audience.
The venue echoed with final cheers and thank yous.
"Minjae oppa, we love you!"
"Yura unnie, fighting!"
"Jihoon, you can do it!!"
"Haejin oppa, don't forget us!"
"Seojin, you're our queen!"
As the crowd began to move in an orderly line toward the designated gift tables, the air was filled with chatter and excitement.
Outside the seating area, just past the main exit, five collection tables had already been set up by the staff. Each of them was marked with a standing sign bearing the name and photo of one cast member.
Behind each table, a row of neatly organized boxes and bags was carefully stacked and prepared by the staff.
Each gift was wrapped differently in the unique style of the actor or actress it came from. And as fans approached, the excitement began all over again.
"Oh my god, look at Minjae oppa's table—it's so neat and elegant!"
"Wait, Jihoon's bag has snacks! I knew it! He really is predictable!"
"Yura's gifts are wrapped in pastel ribbon… they're so pretty I don't even want to open mine."
"Seojin's is so minimalist. Like black with a silver seal. Ugh, so classy."
"Haejin's box has a pressed flower tag on it… I'm gonna cry, that's so sweet!"
The line split into five naturally, with fans making their decision like their life depended on it. Some looked as if they were in agony. While others sprinted for their first choice, like they were running in a race.
"I thought I was going to pick Minjae, but now I'm at Yura's table???"
"Same!! I got here and my heart just turned to Seojin's…"
"I panicked. I was walking toward Jihoon's and my legs just changed direction."
"I need to sit down, I'm overwhelmed. I need a moment."
Staff members handed out one gift per person, and each time a fan received one, they clutched it to their chest like it was treasure.
One girl held a box wrapped in lavender-colored paper and whispered,"I got Minjae's… I'm not opening this. Ever."
Another unwrapped Jihoon's box just enough to peek inside and gasped, "He included handwritten jokes on tiny notes?? I swear he's so nice…"
Yura's gifts had tiny scent sachets inside, with a thank-you card printed on recycled paper, each one with a short handwritten line from her.
"Mine says, 'Thank you for being the wind behind my wings – Yura.' I'm framing this, guys. I'm framing this!"
Seojin's gifts were sleek notebooks with soft leather covers, each embossed with a quote from the drama.
"I don't even want to write on this, it's too pretty…"
Haejin's package had a custom tea blend and a small card that read:
"For your quiet days. Thank you for watching."
Fans squealed, laughed, and some cried as they admired the thoughtful details in each gift.
It wasn't just any gift; it felt deeply personal, like a piece of the cast's gratitude was in each box.
