Lets save the World of Hell

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Information!

Night slowly crept in, replacing the sunlight with darkness illuminated by the city's lanterns.

Adam walked casually through the cobbled streets of Shiganshina District, his hands tucked into his jacket pockets. He stopped in front of a small, rundown bar.

This place was notorious for rumors and wild gossip, as well as people who might have interesting information.

Adam scoffed. "Why do I have to go into a place like this? Oh, right… because I'm curious!"

With confident steps, Adam pushed open the creaky wooden door.

Inside, the bar was filled with the sounds of rough laughter, the clinking of glasses, and incoherent chatter. A large man with a thick beard was downing a mug of beer, while in another corner, a red-haired woman laughed flirtatiously with an older man.

Adam walked up to the bartender's counter.

"Want a drink, kid?" asked the bartender, a bald man with tattoos on his arms.

Adam smiled. "I'm just here for information."

The bartender scoffed. "This is a bar, not a library."

Adam pulled out a few coins and placed them on the counter.

The bartender glanced at the coins, then raised an eyebrow. "Hmph, depends on what you're looking for."

Adam leaned against the counter, lowering his voice. "I want to know about the nobles. Who's strong, who's weak, and who's dangerous."

The atmosphere immediately grew tense. Several people around them began glancing in their direction.

The bartender stared at Adam sharply before giving a small smirk. "Kid, you have no idea what you're getting into, do you?"

Adam smirked back. "I know what I'm doing. But I don't know who to watch out for. That's why I'm asking."

The bartender remained silent for a moment before sighing and speaking in a low voice.

"The nobles within the Walls are a complicated bunch," he said, wiping a glass. "Most of them live comfortably, far from the threat of Titans."

Adam listened intently.

"There are a few names you should be aware of…" the bartender continued.

"The Reiss family—they hold the highest power, though they rarely appear in public."

Adam nodded.

"The Leonhart family is also quite interesting. They have influence in the military."

Leonhart…? Does this have something to do with Annie? Adam wondered.

"And then there are families that aren't well-known but are extremely cunning, like the Kenny family. They're not officially nobles, but they have strong connections."

Adam swallowed hard.

"So, who should I be wary of?" he asked.

The bartender stared at him intensely.

"Anyone who asks too many questions."

Adam chuckled. "Well, I guess I'm on the blacklist now."

The bartender clicked his tongue. "Kid, if you want to survive in this world, be careful who you talk to."

Adam simply shrugged. "Interesting… Seems like there are more secrets than I thought."

Suddenly, a loud noise came from behind him.

A large, drunken man with a foul stench of alcohol and sweat approached him.

"Heh… kid, where are you from? Not often we see some brat acting tough around here," the man said with a heavy voice.

Adam looked at him lazily. "I'm from another world."

The drunk man frowned. "Huh?"

"Yeah, a world where I can eat without having to deal with a stench like yours."

The bar burst into laughter at Adam's remark.

The drunk man's face turned red with embarrassment and anger. "You looking for a fight, kid?!"

Adam sighed. "Why is there always someone like this in every shady place?"

As the man swung his fist, Adam effortlessly dodged, causing the drunkard to stumble and nearly crash into a table.

Adam casually patted his shoulder. "You should train more."

The man, now even angrier, tried to attack again. But this time, Adam used the techniques he had learned during training.

With a swift movement, he kicked the man's knee, making him lose balance and fall flat on his back.

The bar erupted into chaos.

The bartender merely sighed. "You're causing trouble in my bar, kid."

Adam grinned. "Think of it as free entertainment."

The bartender shook his head and scooped up Adam's coins from the counter. "Alright, kid. That's the information you wanted. Now get out before more problems arise."

Adam raised his hands in surrender. "Alright, alright. I'm leaving."

As he stepped out of the bar, Adam gazed at the night sky and pondered.

The nobles… This world is far more complicated than I thought.
