Chapter 8: Chapter 7:Catte Dream
That night, Catte had a dream about his childhood. He saw the beauty of a happy family—warmth, laughter, and love. But that happiness was only temporary.
His eldest brother, Lucian, had been expelled from school for bullying, smoking, and stealing from the class fund. Their parents despised his behavior and ultimately cast him out of the house.
"Get out of this house! You've brought shame to our family, and now you're trying to drag your younger brother into your filthy habits!" their father shouted in anger.
Catte could only hide behind his mother's legs, watching in fear as his brother was disowned. From that moment on, only Catte and his parents remained together.
Before leaving, Lucian glared at them with pure hatred.
"Just wait! I'll come back for my revenge!" he growled before disappearing into the night.
The door slammed shut, and Catte ran to his room, burying himself in silence.
But peace did not last long.
In the middle of the night, his father suddenly shook him awake.
"CATTE, WAKE UP! WE HAVE TO GET OUT!" his father yelled.
Dazed, Catte rubbed his eyes—only to be met with the sight of roaring flames engulfing their home.
"Mom? Where's Mom?!" Catte cried out in panic.
Then, he saw her. His mother was still alive… but before he could reach her, Lucian emerged from behind and plunged a sharp knife into her back.
Police stormed in just in time to restrain Lucian, but it was already too late. His mother collapsed to the floor, blood pooling beneath her.
Catte could do nothing but scream in agony as he watched his mother die before his eyes. His father, overcome with grief, lost all sense of control—howling in rage like a madman.
Suddenly, Catte woke up from his sleep, silently crying.
"A dream… what kind of nightmare is this?!" he thought to himself, his chest tightening with emotion.
He could only accept the fate given to him by his Lord. Even though he believed that God would protect his father, he forced himself back to sleep.
But once again, the same nightmare returned—this time, a different event unfolded.
"Dad? Dad, where are you?" Catte called out in a worried voice.
As he descended the stairs, a horrifying sight greeted him. His father was being beaten by none other than Lucian.
"Hahaha! This is what you get for kicking me out of the house!" Lucian laughed cruelly, his eyes dark with hatred.
Without hesitation, he stomped on their father's hand with full force, the sickening crack echoing through the room. The pain must have been unbearable.
Fortunately, nearby police officers arrived just in time, restraining Lucian before he could do any more damage.
Catte rushed to his father's side, tears streaming down his face.
"Dad! Dad! Are you okay?!" he sobbed, holding onto him desperately.
Lucian, still smirking despite being handcuffed, mocked him.
"Hey, Catte… your face looks a little dirty, hahaha!" he sneered.
Fury burned inside Catte.
"Damn you! You're the reason this family fell apart!" he spat in rage.
Lucian narrowed his eyes.
"Don't make me put you on my debt list, Catte!" he threatened, his voice sharp like a blade.
Catte could only stand frozen, watching as his brother was shoved into the back of a police car. Meanwhile, his father was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.
When the trial took place, Lucian was sentenced to either death or eight years in prison. At that moment, Catte realized something terrifying—Lucian had avoided the death penalty. He had been imprisoned… but was later freed by an old school friend.
