Loving Her Forgotten Mafia

Chapter 22: Chapter-22

ROSARIO

Sitting on the couch of my study, I stared at the rectangular strip lying on my table, the two pink lines mocking me and my authority. The victory that I was relishing in, all seemed like a facade, a false assurance.

I thought I managed to snatch Jane from Dominic. But the truth was, what I got was his remnants. His child!

And Jane! She played me again. If she was really trying to move on and be with me, she'd have told me about her pregnancy. I gave her two days. Two fucking days to come out clean. But she chose to hide it.

As if that was not bad enough, now she was planning to escape with Dominic. Hate him my foot. She still loved the bastard and made a fool out of me by making me believe otherwise.

She really had changed. She wasn't that naive Jane who I had back then. She had become clever. She was scheming against me under my roof.

How daring.

But what's the use? Now she lost all her privilege with me. If she had told me the truth about her pregnancy, I might have let her continue her pregnancy and put that bastard child up for adoption after birth. But now, the child would be dead even before taking birth, that too brutally.

"What did you get from all this, doll?" I whispered to myself.

So what if I'd not marry her? I still would have kept her like a queen, in exchange for just having sex with me whenever and however I wanted. Who knew, in future I might have killed Alia and married Jane. But she ruined everything.

Now, I'd have to torture her as her punishment. No one could get away with betraying Rosario. Not even my doll.

Dominic was planning to ambush my mansion with his elite soldiers.

A sarcastic laugh escaped my lips as I thought about his plans. He didn't know that I had all the details of his so-called plan and I was ready to turn everything around.

I looked up at the laptop screen before me. Everything was still peaceful. I could hear the conversation of my men as they waited for Dominic's convoy.

He thought he could get his elite soldiers to my mansion but he had no idea that my special soldiers were already on alert outside his hideout. They'd not let them leave.

As much as I knew him, he'd try to come here alone and I was gonna let him come. So what if he was the Beast of the underworld, I had the ace in my hand. Jane and his unborn child.

I'd make him retreat with his tail hiding in his back and snatch him of his pride. What's more entertaining? I'd kill him in front of the love of his life.

What a sight it'll be!

I laughed out loud, maniacally, with my head falling back and my laugh echoed around the study, filling me with adrenaline.

A movement on the screen made me stop abruptly and I sat up straight, my eyes trained on the laptop. Alexei, my capo, was issuing orders to surround the building as the convoy of cars was now visible through the camera.

The convoy stopped outside their hideout, and Dominic's soldiers came out, their movements like robots as they surrounded the black armoured SUV. I could only see a few glimpses of his legs, hands and hair as they went inside, leaving five of the soldiers to guard outside.

I watched as the first fire was shot by my soldiers, alerting Dominic's soldiers guarding outside. Within a few seconds, their soldiers filtered out like ants and mine moved too. The camera shook, making it difficult for me to watch anything, but one thing I knew was that the plan was on.

My lips curved into a smirk and I drummed my fingers on the table, excitement cursing through my veins as I rang the bell to call Matilda.

In a few minutes, a knock sounded on the door.

"Come in."

Matilda walked in and stood before me with her hands clasped in front of her.

"Call Dr Adessa. Tell her you are not feeling well."

Her eyebrows met as she looked at me.

"Why? I am perfectly fine, sir."

I ground my teeth, restraining myself from snapping. If it was someone else, I'd have shot her for questioning me. But it was Alexei's mother and he was one of my most trusted men.

No matter how big of an asshole I was, even I knew that trusted people should always be kept happy to keep them with us.

"No questions, Matilda. Did you forget the rules?" I looked pointedly until she got the message and nodded her head.

"Go and call her now. Ask her to come immediately. Once she is here, ask her to go to the basement."

She nodded and bowed before leaving and shutting the door behind her.

All the traitors would be punished today. Did they take me for a fool? Did they think I'd not realise where the pregnancy stick came from?

Oh, yeah. Jane thought she threw it away and I'd not see it. But luck was on my side.

My gaze fell on the screen at the same time when Alexei's voice came in through the earpiece.

"Boss. Dominic left alone."

"Good. I'll take care of him here. You focus on his soldiers. They shouldn't be able to leave."

"Roger."

With that, I got up from my chair and left the room.

"Time to say your goodbyes, Doll." A single laugh escaped my lips as I walked down the corridor towards Jane's room.

I was about to open the door when I remembered what she had asked me. To knock on her door every time. So, I decided to give her the privilege one last time and knocked.

She took a whole three minutes before opening the door and I saw the subtle change in her face.

She was scared and she should be.

"Hey, Doll," I drawled before walking in.

She was in no mood to give me way but had to move aside as I went in anyway. Locking the door from inside, I went to the couch and made myself comfortable.

"Why are you here?" She tried to sound confident but the slight tremble in her voice didn't go unnoticed as I watched her silently.

She was standing before me like a lost soul.

I rested my elbows on the armrests of the couch and put my thumb and index finger under my chin.

"Why? Can't I go around my own house any time I want?"

She gulped before turning her back to me and went to the dresser.

"Of course you can. But you aren't usually home at this time." She picked something up from the dresser and started gathering her hair in a bunch behind her.

"Leave the hair open. I like it that way." Her hands stopped and she turned her head to look at me.

"It's…uh…it's uncomfortable." Turning around, she started to tie her hair.

"Come here."

She still had a chance. She just needed to tell me the truth and I could change my plans about her and that bastard baby inside of her.

But I knew she wouldn't.
