Chapter 475: Travel and Beyond Travel Chapter Thirty-Three Departure_2

Kuboert ran over to inspect, and then turned his head with a look of surprise to Lynch and the Empress, saying, "This is impossible! The Brass Dragon and the Angel are both the best friends and subordinates of the Bright Pate; no Priest or Knight of the holy Pate would ever aim a weapon at them! Let alone such a treacherous weapon!"

"I understand that," the Elf Queen said, "but he is already dead, dead with many answers. He struggled to fly back to Holy Land Heather, leaving only unexplained mysteries and dying wishes behind."

"I think there might still be a way to make him speak," Zilvra suddenly chimed in, looking thoughtfully at the dragon's corpse. "Even if he couldn't speak while alive, he might be able to talk as the Undead."

"No, in any case, the Undead is an evil and unnatural existence. The Brass Dragon would not accept this choice," said the Elf Queen.

"Zilvra, when beings turn into the Undead, they become unreasonable and vastly different from when they were alive," Lynch said. "Even if we do that, it doesn't guarantee we'll get the answers we seek."

"But I still think it's the only way," Zilvra explained. "Moreover, the Dark Elf can create soul-bound corpses that retain most of their memories from life and absolutely follow the creator's commands. However, since you don't want to know why a weapon engraved with the Light God's insignia was thrust into the Brass Dragon, it doesn't matter to me."

Priest Kuboert frowned deeply, his eyes never leaving the two black spears. When the Brass Dragon fell from the sky, he witnessed the dragon's entire body covered in wounds. Those two spears struck the vital points of the dragon, causing the two largest injuries. The Elf Queen used incredible strength that Kuboert could hardly imagine to heal the Brass Dragon's wounds, but still could not save its life. It was indeed the magic on these items that played a hindering role. Although Priest Kuboert hoped to prove that the insignia was forged and engraved with malicious intent, he regrettably discovered that the insignia formed the center of the Magic Array on the weapons, which was impossible to fake.

"I also want to know the answer to this question," Kuboert finally said. "But creating Undead will not be my choice. If possible, I will begin the investigation within Pate Temple."

"Perhaps that's for the best," Lynch nodded and said, "Your Majesty, I have retrieved what I needed, and the environment in there is guaranteed not to be affected for at least ten years. I think it won't take that long before I can return this stone."

"I knew you would do that," the Empress smiled and said, "Also, here's the Necroman Magic Pearl left by Nomotur. You might be more familiar with the name Fyyian. Although it still exudes an evil aura, I believe that the value of a Magic Item lies not in its function but in its user."

Lynch took the Undead Magic Bead and immediately felt its cold sensation. A numbing chill pierced his palm from the crystal-like surface. Upon close inspection, the bead's interior had many clouds rolling, forming words that flickered in and out of view.

"I will keep it safe," Lynch said and then fitted the bead onto the top of the Powerful Wand. "If war comes again, my Undead will join the side of justice."

"Speaking of war, Mage Lynch, you'd better depart soon on your northward journey," the Empress said. "Have you chosen your route yet?"

"Orcs are still rampant within the borders of the holy Pate, and traveling from south to north might take a long time," Lynch said. "But since Moon Harbor City has been retaken by humans, I choose to take a ship to this northern port city and plan the next step from there."

"Won't you depart with us?" Kuboert asked. "I can ensure you travel unhindered within Pate's borders. Also, warriors of the Elf Clan will accompany you."

"Thank you, but there's no need," Lynch nodded and said, "I don't want to get caught up in tiresome banquets and various reception activities. I'd rather travel alone. Plus, I prefer sailing on the sea, especially now that Fishmen have been largely eliminated."
