Magus Supremacy

Chapter 316: Chaos!

"ARGHH! It's a beast!"

"It's a portal break!"

"What the hell?!" Max blurted as he sprang to his feet amidst the chaos erupting around him.

His eyes widened as he caught sight of Grey being ruthlessly flung across the arena by a monstrous claw emerging from a swirling, dark portal.

Around the colossal coliseum, over a dozen portals rippled into existence like tears in reality. From them, monstrous beasts flooded in—a horrifying tide of nightmare-fuel.

Three portals hovered ominously in the sky, from which hawk-like creatures twice the size of ordinary raptors emerged.

Their beaks opened wide, unleashing torrents of green acidic breath that hissed through the air.

Entire sections of the stands sizzled and melted on contact, along with the unfortunate souls caught in its spray.

"Crap…" Max growled, lightning flickering and dancing across his clenched fists as his body surged with power.

On the ground, ogres clad in primitive, rune-etched armor emerged—each wielding giant swords and stone-crushing hammers. Hulking gorilla-like beasts, nearly 9 feet tall with six muscular arms, pounded their chests and charged forward.

Wolves with elongated horns, razor-lined jaws, and claws like curved daggers prowled out from the swirling voids, their glowing eyes burning with bloodlust.

In total, nearly three hundred beasts had been unleashed into the arena, their collective presence sending waves of panic and dread through the spectators.

From the stands, Grey's allies—Arthur, Vorden, Gordon, and Vanica—immediately sprang into action.

Two globs of acidic goo hurtled toward them, sizzling through the air.

Fwoosh!

A translucent bubble snapped into place just in time, shielding them as the goo splashed and hissed against it.

But within seconds, the bubble began to dissolve, eaten away by the powerful acid. A trio of the hawk-beasts dived, talons gleaming with lethal precision.

"Crap! None of us have enough combat strength!" Arthur shouted.

"Gordon, do something!" Vanica cried out, eyes wide with fear.

"I would, but my poison magic takes a full minute to activate!" Gordon panicked, backing up as the hawks closed in fast.

Suddenly—

BZZZT! BANG!

Bolts of lightning rained from the sky, striking the hawk-beasts mid-dive. The impact lit up the area with a brilliant flash, sending charred feathers and sparks flying.

Arthur reacted instantly, casting another protective dome to shield the group from residual shockwaves.

"You guys okay?" a calm voice called out.

They turned to see a young man with bright blue hair approaching, his aura crackling with residual electricity.

"Y-Yes. Thank you for saving us!" Vanica breathed, relief flooding her face.

"No worries," Max said, flashing a warm grin. "Any friend of Grey is a friend of mine."

He turned toward the twitching hawk-beasts, now riddled with smoking holes from his lightning arrows.

"What now?" Vorden asked, scanning the battlefield. His gaze landed on Grey's limp form lying several meters away.

'For someone so overpowered, he really got knocked out fast,' he scoffed inwardly.

Around them, chaos reigned. Screams and roars echoed. Above, the hawks dived and rained acid; below, wolves and gorillas tore through stone and flesh. The ogres, strangely, stood motionless, watching.

Then—

"ALL LUNARIA STUDENTS!" Captain Amir's voice boomed, cutting through the chaos like a blade. He stepped forward from his booth, eyes cold and sharp. "Evacuate the civilians now! Those who can fight, follow me—NOW!"

"You heard the captain!" Vorden barked. "Let's go!"

He and Gordon rushed off to guide panicked civilians to safety while Arthur, Vanica, and Max stayed to fight off the aerial threats.

Down below, Amir faced the battlefield. His sharp eyes swept across the carnage until they locked on a group of fifty; six-armed gorilla beasts charging directly at him.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

The ground trembled under their unified stomp. Their fists, clenched with brutal intent, pulled back for a simultaneous strike.

'Years of being a captain and fighting different battles has made me in tune with energies and aura that I can tell that all these portal break is a level 5 break which means all beasts that will be popping out will be level 8 or level 9 beasts.

Which begs the question, where is the boss? And depending on how strong the boss is, will determine how tough this portal break will be.' Amir thought as the gorrials were now incredibly close.

The beasts closed in. Fifty giant fists smashed downward with sound-shattering force—

BOOOM!

A shockwave burst through the arena. Dust exploded outward. The ground cracked like shattered glass beneath the impact.

As the smoke cleared, a shimmering, metallic sphere was revealed—encasing Amir completely.

The gorilla beasts' massive fists were halted, unable to even dent the steel cocoon.

"I'm not one for long speeches," Amir's voice echoed from inside the sphere.

FWWWWSSSHH!!

In an instant, the sphere detonated outward in a controlled explosion, sending a storm of sharp metal shards outward. The gorillas roared and shielded themselves, but dozens still took piercing hits to their arms and shoulders.

"That's why I'll keep it simple… and just make sure you die."

THWACK! THWACK! THWACK!

From above, a volley of metallic spears rained down with blazing velocity. Each one punctured straight through a gorilla's skull like butter. A series of heavy thuds echoed as fifty lifeless bodies collapsed to the ground.

Amir's gaze swept the field. "Good… the civilians are almost clear."

He thrust his hands forward again. SWOOSH! Dozens of small, blade-like swords shot from his palms, whirling through the battlefield. They sliced through wolves and slashed the charging gorillas with terrifying precision.

Above, lightning continued crackling as Max cleared the sky of more hawk beasts.

But Amir's attention snapped back to the field as he scanned for Grey and Dave.

"Wait… where are—" His eyes locked on two unmoving bodies—Grey and Dave, both unconscious.

He rushed forward—only to freeze.

BOOM!

One of the unmoving ogres sprang to life, sprinting toward Dave with terrifying speed, a massive hammer raised high above its head.

"NO!!" Amir roared, thrusting his hand forward instinctively—as if that alone could stop the monster.

Then—

"Water Creation Magic: Leviathan!"

A fierce, feminine voice erupted from the third-year student section. One of the gates burst open with a deafening crash as a new figure stepped onto the battlefield, power radiating from her very soul.
