Magus Supremacy

Chapter 451: Heading to the Noxarian faction!

"You want to do what?" Gunther, who was in his office, shouted at the two figures standing in front of him.

"We want to go to the forest at the back of the academy. We have to be somewhere," Grey replied calmly.

That's right. These two were Grey and a disguised Thalos.

It had been a few days since the library incident. Even though Kent had said he would focus on the two main steps for the Flash Step until more than half of the students learned it properly, he was still kind enough to slow down for those who were struggling.

For the past one and a half weeks, they had been repeating the same two steps over and over again. Since Grey wasn't making any progress, he had finally decided it was time to visit the Noxarian faction.

He couldn't just get up and leave the academy openly, which is why he was here—in front of Gunther, seeking his help to reach the hunting forest behind the academy.

"Where do you want to head to?" Gunther asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm sorry, but this is exclusive to the Cromwell Family. I can't say anything else," Grey replied, his expression stoic and unreadable.

'I'm sorry, Yami sir, that I'm using your family name this way. But I really need to get to the Noxarian faction if I plan to relearn magic. I need more strength and power,' he thought, clenching his fists slightly.

"Cromwell secret, huh?" Gunther sighed, rubbing his temples before shaking his head. "So why do you want to take him too?" He gestured toward the disguised Thalos.

"That's because he would be helpful in my journey. Pink is reliable," Grey said, smacking Thalos on the back, who gave a small, approving nod.

"Fine." Gunther groaned, shrugging as he rose from his seat and strode toward the door. "I'll help you. But you better be back in two weeks, otherwise—"

"Two weeks, huh? That should be more than enough. Thank you," Grey said with a small bow. Gunther just sighed and turned to lead the way.

"Follow me. Let's go to the hunting ground," he muttered, and Grey and Thalos quickly followed.

'I wonder what exactly they want to do in the hunting grounds. Shouldn't it be more appropriate to leave through the front gate? Or is there a back exit I don't know about?' Gunther thought as they walked through the courtyard.

They passed small meadows in silence, while some officials randomly greeted Gunther, who waved back quietly. They circled around a building, and then Grey noticed two massive trees standing side by side, forming a natural gateway.

Without hesitation, Gunther walked through after snapping his fingers, a gesture Grey could not help but notice.

Passing through the tree gate, they were met with a swirling blue portal suspended in the air.

"There you go," Gunther said, pointing at the portal.

"Huh? That's it? No security? Just walk around a building, pass through a tree gate, and then bam! Here?" Grey asked, his brows furrowed in confusion.

"Trust me when I say nobody who isn't allowed can access this place. The academy is thorough. Now take the damn portal and leave," Gunther said, crossing his arms with a finality that left no room for argument.

"I'm still…" Grey started, but his words were abruptly cut off. Thalos quickly grabbed his mouth, holding it shut as he dragged him forward.

"Thank you for helping us so far. We'll be leaving now," Thalos said with a slight bow. Then, without warning, he pushed Grey through the portal before leaping in himself, leaving Gunther stunned and frozen in place.

'There's something off about that Pink guy,' Gunther thought, narrowing his eyes. 'I need to find out more about him because Grey's story doesn't add up. I don't think there was an applicant like this during the previous assessments.' He turned and walked away, his mind racing with suspicion.

"Ow!" Grey cried out as he stumbled out of the portal, frowning fiercely. He turned to glare at Thalos, who emerged behind him, the portal snapping shut with a sharp pop.

"What was that for?" Grey demanded, scowling.

"If I hadn't done that, you would have wasted our time asking stupid questions. And we'd be late," Thalos shouted.

"Not like the faction is going anywhere," Grey scoffed as the duo approached the edge of the cliff, preparing to descend.

Memories of the assessment flashed in Grey's mind—how he had nearly been killed by the direct descendants. He closed his eyes and sighed, ready to climb down, when suddenly he was grabbed and lifted off the ground.

Snapping his eyes open, he realized Thalos had tossed him onto his back, frowning.

"Hey! I'm no kid. Put me down!" Grey shouted angrily.

"This is much faster," Thalos scoffed. Without a second warning, he leapt down.

And just like that, the duo descended the cliff at incredible speed. Thalos did not slow, and Grey clung to his back as they moved. Within minutes, they landed in the foggy area below.

"There goes my honor," Grey muttered, glaring at Thalos.

"You're welcome," Thalos replied, scanning the fog before beginning to walk. "There should be a faint power from the cave. Can you sense it?"

"Why can't you? Aren't you more powerful than I am?" Grey asked, raising an eyebrow. They moved through the dense fog, navigating cautiously.

"You fool! My master used magic and mana to conceal the area, which makes it impossible for Yun warriors to sense it. Since you have magic, you can freaking sense it!" Thalos snapped angrily.

"Fine," Grey muttered. He closed his eyes, standing perfectly still, his breathing deep and controlled. Slowly, he twisted his head left and right as if his closed eyes were searching.

"Found it," Grey finally said. Without another word, he strode confidently in a new direction, Thalos following closely behind.

Hey Magus Legion! I just want to quickly apologise. From now until maybe five or ten chapters later, the fights, actions, and some characters might feel a little dull or slow.

It isn't intentional. This is me picking the book back up after a month of focusing solely on my new project. I'm trying to get back into the Magus Supremacy vibe and characters.

It's a bit hard because my imagination is slightly foggy, and I've forgotten some of the details. So please, pardon me, and don't drop the book—we still have about six hundred chapters to finish this journey.

Anyway, I don't want this author's note to be too long. I'm sorry once more, and thank you all for understanding. 🫶☺️
