Magus Supremacy

Chapter 466

"I did it huh? Kek! Let's see what this baby can do." Grey mumbled, and without hesitation, he tossed the pill into his mouth and swallowed hard, waiting for its effect to kick in.

'That circle really drained my mana and Ki completely. Though I still have a little bit of Ki left, my mana is completely exhausted. So this is the perfect way to check its effect.' he thought, and in a split second, the pill began to take hold.

Grey could feel his body surging with energy. He quickly sat cross-legged, closed his eyes, and followed the changes within his internal body, trying to see exactly what had shifted.

It did not take long for him to notice the effect. His Ki, which had nearly been drained, was instantly replenished. He had only a trace of it left, but now it was refilled to the brim.

His completely exhausted mana core was also refilled, though not entirely. Instead, it restored half of his mana pool, which made a smile creep across his face.

"Kek!" Grey chuckled loudly, and that chuckle soon turned into a full-blown laughter as he clenched and unclenched his fists with obvious glee.

'Mehn! I did it, and it worked beyond my imagination. The Vayun yellow pill restores half of one's Ki, but my purple pill… it restored all of my Ki and even half of my mana pool. This is crazier than I expected.' Grey thought as he remained seated, cross-legged, refusing to move an inch.

"But I need to see how long it will last though. I want to know its time limit, so I will wait." He mumbled under his breath, patiently baiting his time to see if the pill had a restriction.

'I feel like this kid needs an asylum or something.' Thalos thought as he stared at the grinning Grey, who mumbled inaudible words and then grinned again like someone who had just won a fortune.

'What is he even doing? Judging by that ridiculous grin, it must be working.'

Five minutes passed with Grey still seated, unmoving, and the moment the five-minute mark hit, he felt it.

The side effect struck, and instantly, a frown formed on his face.

'Huh?' Grey thought as he focused on his Dantian and then his mana core. 'After five minutes, my Dantian and core return to how they were? Which means if both of them are exhausted and I take the pill, I only have five minutes to win my battle before I am weakened again. More like a second chance huh.'

"Still good though. I mean, there are many times I get completely drained, and I would need something like this to keep fighting longer. And now, I just developed one." Grey mumbled with a smirk, his eyes lingering on the magic circle carved into the ground.

'I need to create another pill, one with a different effect, but I will need my mana replenished so I can power the circle again.' he thought with a sigh, before deciding to slip into meditation.

While meditating, he cultivated both his mana and Ki at the same time, steadily replenishing them. It was at that moment a loud knock echoed against the room's door.

"I will get it." Thalos said before Grey could break his concentration.

The gargoyle strode calmly to the door, careful not to ruin Grey's magic circles, until he reached the entrance.

Opening it, he was met with a man dressed formally, holding a tray. On the tray were two covered plates that gave off faint wisps of steam.

"Uhm, sir. I decided to bring your dinner to you both since we didn't see you downstairs." The man said respectfully.

"Oh! Thanks for that." Thalos smiled as he accepted the tray. He was about to close the door when the man stopped him.

"When can I come and collect the plates?" He asked.

Thalos turned back to glance at Grey.

'Seems like he would be busy all night and wouldn't like to be interrupted.'

"Come tomorrow morning," Thalos said with a warm smile.

"Alright. Do have a good night," the man replied as he turned to leave.

"And you too," Thalos answered before closing the door shut and walking back toward the table in the room.

He carefully placed the tray down and sat on the bed once more, his eyes fixed curiously on Grey.

'Alright! I've got enough mana and Ki to power the circle for another pill,' Grey thought with a sigh of relief.

"Okay, let's create another pill, one almost similar to the green pill. Yami sir told me that the green pill helps a warrior move a tad faster for just two seconds. I need to top that." Grey mumbled with determination as he confidently pulled out a beast core from his pouch and placed it into the circle.

Then he crouched down in front of the second one, his gaze thoughtful and focused.

'What recipe would even make someone move faster? The green pill consisted of some herbs, but I don't have those right now, so I'll need to substitute.

But with what?' Grey pondered calmly as he studied the circle. The faint night wind slipped through the slightly open window, brushing his face as the curtain fluttered softly.

"Wait a moment!" Grey snapped his fingers as his eyes widened. "The wind! It makes me move faster when coupled with my Ki. I can surpass the speed of a stage two warrior with that.

Though lightning magic might work even better, I don't really know how to summon it just yet." He grumbled in disappointment, though his tone carried more curiosity than defeat.

Still, he got to work. He pricked his finger and let a few drops of blood fall into the circle after powering the other formation that would grind the beast core. The faint glow of the circle illuminated his face, highlighting his determination.

He poured his Ki and mana steadily into the main circle, directing the energy with precision. At the same time, he began to call the wind, weaving it into the formation with careful focus. For the most part, it was working—until something unexpected happened.

ZAP!

Two small bursts of lightning suddenly shot out from his fingers, striking the circle while mixing in with the Ki and wind magic.

"What the?!" Grey muttered in shock as he stumbled back. The circles flared and blazed with a sudden brilliance, forcing him to shield his eyes from the blinding light.

After a few seconds, the radiance dimmed and the air settled. As usual, a small pill rolled to the ground, though its appearance was far different.

It was a deep blue in color, shimmering faintly under the glow of the circle. Grey raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"I wonder what its effects are now," he murmured, curiosity flooding his voice as he bent down to pick the pill up.
