Chapter 542: Dungeon Dwellers

While walking alongside the beautiful young woman, Kiernan had some time to look around the dungeon.

They were walking down a hallway that was just surrounded with dark, damp stone walls and flickering torches every few feet.

It was clear that people had been here before, as they put those torches on the walls, and there were signs of some sort of struggles in the past.

"Mmh, my feet are hurting~ Can we stop for a moment?"

Beatrice asked.

"Hmm? Sure."

Kiernan said and led her to sit on top of one of the fallen stone pillars.

She took off her shoes and rubbed the soles of her feet—they didn't look sore or blistered; they were smooth-skinned.

While rubbing her feet, she also "accidentally" flicked the skirt of her dress all the way up her thigh to reveal her bare leg.

Any other young man would already be drooling like a dog.

'She is seducing me. I am already here with me, so that seduction is worthless, unless she wants me to do something for her.

'I am already here, clearly protecting her, so it's something that goes beyond the dungeon.'

Kiernan thought to himself, but he also could act, and lingered his gaze in the direction of her bare thigh before looking away.

A small sly smile appeared on Beatrice's lips, and she then slid the skirt back down and put her shoes back on.

She then stood up with the help of Kiernan, but at that moment, she screamed and pointed towards the short-legged creature by the corner.

"Eek, what is that!"

She hid behind Kiernan while he looked around to see the short-legged creature stumble in his direction.

'What the hell is that?'

It was a purple-skinned creature with short legs and a big head with a tail at the back of its head.

It wasn't hair, but a long, thin appendage.

"What is that creature?"

Kiernan asked.

"Y-You don't know?"

Beatrice asked.

"No… my first time here."

Kiernan said.

"It's Dungeon Dweller. It looks like it is one of the weaker ones, but they've been roaming these dungeons for ages already!"

"How did this dungeon come to be? Who built it?"

"I-I don't know, but they're a very violent race, so quickly, get rid of it!"

Beatrice huddled behind him, but when he couldn't see her face, she started smiling, as if proud of her acting.

She made sure to press her breasts against his back.

Kiernan pointed his hand towards the purple-skinned creature—he snapped his fingers—and an invisible air bullet shot out, tore through its large head, and exploded into a burst of purple mist.

The purple-skinned creature fell backwards, lifeless, and just kept drenching the ground with its purple blood.

[You killed Dungeon Dweller!]

[100 XP Acquired!]

"Ahhh!"

Beatrice looked with a shocked expression and looked at him with sparkling eyes as if she were impressed.

"Wow, you're so strong!"

"Whew…"

Kiernan looked at his fingers, saw that it went well, and nodded in satisfaction.

'I've been practicing snapping my fingers, and the strength of my air bullet has increased drastically. I'm getting closer and closer to mastering it.'

At that moment, Beatrice ran to the dead purple-skinned creature and reached her hand towards its forehead.

She plucked a bloody gem from its skin, put it close to the torch, and sighed in disappointment.

"A very small gem. It's barely the size of my nail. It won't sell for much."

"Dungeon Dwellers drop gems?"

Kiernan asked as he approached the gem and wondered whether it would go for much.

"Yes, but small gems such as this are close to worthless. The better the quality, the more it costs, but this gem is dim gray.

"It'll probably go for fifty gold coins."

Beatrice calculated quickly and, with a smile, handed him the gem with a flirtatious wink.

Kiernan looked at the tiny gem, then stuffed it inside his pocket, but secretly, he put it inside his inventory.

She then took the lead, swaying her hips, and skipped down the hallway.

"This is the blue dungeon, so it isn't that big, but hopefully it has some good loot!"

Beatrice said.

Following behind her, Kiernan asked.

"Do these Dungeon Dwellers respawn like in those video games? Or is it possible to fully clear these places?"

"Whoever created this place also created these creatures, and they're basically immortal. After a day has passed, they respawn, as you said, back where they started."

Beatrice said.

"Oho…"

Kiernan nodded.

In another blue dungeon, which was full of nature with vines running up the walls and ceilings, there were even some of the vines forming bridges over the small river that flowed through the center of the dungeon.

It was completely different from the dungeon that Beatrice and Kiernan took, as their dungeon was the harsher kind.

With a blushed face, a young man put his jacket over a small puddle and offered his hand to a sweet-looking woman.

"Here!"

"Wow…"

Clara rolled her eyes, took his hand, and stepped over the puddle, muttering something about him being cheesy.

She just chose him because he kind of looked cute, but he was boring, and she couldn't help but remember Beatrice and the person she chose.

At that moment, from behind one of the thick trees, a muscle-filled creature emerged, startling her.

"I'll protect you!"

The young man said with a smirk, pulled out his sword, and attacked the creature, but then he swung his hand with such force that it flew out of his hand.

"Ah!"

The young man exclaimed.

With a smirk, the muscle-filled monster crushed his head by clapping his hands together through his head.

The young man dropped to the ground, lifeless.

"…"

Clara looked at him in disappointment, crossed her arms, and pushed her breasts up before gazing up at the creature.

"What a disappointment. I was thinking about him being my meal for today, but you ruined it, and now I'll have to find someone else."

The creature didn't understand a word she said, and he just brought his fist at her, but before it landed, Clara flipped over him and touched his forehead.

The creature's forehead ballooned like a bubble before exploding into a cloud of crimson blood.
