Chapter 543: Serial Killer
"Ahhh!"
Beatrice ran away from the group of the purple-skinned creatures, who were chasing her, and came across Kiernan.
"Save me!"
She jumped into Kiernan's arms, who rolled his eyes and then swung his fist at one of the purple-skinned creatures.
Swoosh!
The purple-skinned creature got punched into the ceiling, and it got crushed beyond recognition.
Kiernan then swung his right fist and punched in the direction of the creatures—he didn't directly hit any of them—but the air pressure was enough to knock them all back.
They all flew into a rock wall and got crushed into a bloody mess.
[You killed 5x Dungeon Dwellers!]
[500 XP Acquired!]
"Ahh, my hero~"
Beatrice wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled shyly while giving a loving look.
"No problem…"
Kiernan moved away from her and took the gems from the foreheads of the crushed purple creatures.
They were all quite grayish, but one of the gems had a slight tint of purple.
'It looks like this one is slightly more expensive than others.'
"By the way, are you married?"
She asked as she saw the engagement ring on Kiernan's finger, and he looked at it before giving a nod.
"Yes, I am."
"Oh~ I do like married men…"
She said, but her voice was barely above a whisper, and most wouldn't be able to hear her, but Kiernan did.
However, he acted like he didn't.
…
After doing the tour of the dungeon, Kiernan and Beatrice returned back to the entrance with six gems in their possession.
They didn't go all the way to that specific dungeon's boss room, where the greater rewards were, as they would need to find it, and it can take hours.
"Do you want to split the gems, or we'll go sell them and split the money?"
Kiernan asked.
"Mm, you can have them all~"
Beatrice put her hands behind her back, twirled around, and said to him with a sweet-looking smile.
"I appreciate it…"
Kiernan said.
"It sure is warm, and I'd really like a drink now. Do you want to come to my house, perhaps for a drink? I'd like to get to know you better~"
Beatrice said with a smile.
"I am sorry, but…"
Kiernan pulled out his phone and saw that Aoi had already sent a message, asking where he was currently.
"I do have to go back home."
He said.
"Oh…"
Beatrice, looking surprised by the rejection, looked quite dejected and grabbed the hem of her dress before asking.
"Back to your wife? We're just going for a drink, and she doesn't have to know…"
"I appreciate the offer, but I have a drink back at home. See you, maybe another time."
Kiernan said, waved his hand, and walked away, leaving behind the stunned Beatrice, who hadn't gotten used to rejection.
"You have a drink at your home…?"
Beatrice gritted her teeth, her face turned red in anger, and she stomped the ground angrily.
"You reject me? Rejecting me? Just because you're a little handsome, you think you can humiliate me?
"You'll see that no one will reject me, dumbass!"
…
Bang!
Kiernan entered the inn room, took off his shoes, and made his way to the small living room, and then came across Aoi, cooking in the kitchen.
"Ah, welcome back~"
Aoi said with a smile, skipped over to him, and kissed him on the lips, giving him a loving welcome back.
"I checked the dungeon and found something interesting. Creatures called Dungeon Dwellers reside there, and by killing them, you can get gems.
"I killed few and got few gems, so I earned a few hundred gold coins."
Kiernan said.
"Oh, that's good. I was wondering how we could make money, but that solves a lot of our problems!"
Aoi said from over in the kitchen.
He then noticed that there was a newspaper on the table—it was yesterday's news—and he curiously read it through.
In Rodero's daily news, he found something about a serial killer being on the loose—the killer was targeting men, as they all died in the same way.
'Hmm? When their family members found them, they were always naked and were smiling blissfully. Police Force thinks that they all died because of cardiac arrest during sexual intercourse.
'It wouldn't be strange if that happened to older fellows, but even young men in their early twenties had that happen to them.
'They don't have any clues to the culprits, but the serial killer is a woman.'
Kiernan rubbed his chin.
'That does sound eerie. I don't want to assume things, but these women of the Lovely Flower Sect do fit the profile.
'They attract the attention of lonely-looking men, seduce them with their beautiful looks, and then kill them…'
Kiernan unfolded the newspaper, put it down on the paper, and then crossed his legs.
…
In the Lovely Flower Sect.
Beautiful, sweet-looking women walked down the hallways, and everywhere one looked, there were flowers of every size and color blooming.
Currently, in one of the many balconies, several women were gathered around a table, and they all were beautiful enough to topple cities and kingdoms.
With a frustrated look, Beatrice tapped her finger against the table and occasionally kept gritting her teeth.
"What's with the sour mood, Beatrice? Hehe?"
Clara asked with a giggle, showed her pearly white teeth, and then shrugged her shoulders.
"Maybe you should stay with older men. They won't reject you, at least. Maybe to younger ones you come across as too old, hehe!"
Beatrice's eyes turned red, and if they were alone here, she would've already grabbed Clara by her throat and taught her a lesson she wouldn't soon forget.
"If you two are done bickering, I have another potential recruit on the horizon, and it looks like she is a foreigner~"
Evelyn said.
She was clearly an elf with her pointy ears, and she looked incredibly beautiful even compared to other women around her.
With interest, they looked as Evelyn put her phone down on the table. There was a picture of a beautiful-looking woman doing grocery shopping.
"I've found out that she is a woman called Faye Abraham. Beautiful, isn't she, and I am sure she will be a great follower of Lady Amarelyn!"
