Chapter 560: Parrot's Words
"Sigh…"
With an exhausted sigh, Kiernan returned back to the rented attic apartment and took off his shoes and outdoor clothes.
"You're back…"
Aoi said from the bed, the nightstand lamp casting a warm glow around her, and she looked quite sleepy.
She hadn't slept just yet as she waited for Kiernan to return, as she had been nervous that the girls of the Lovely Flower Sect might find him outside.
"Why aren't you sleeping yet?"
Kiernan asked and quickly changed his clothes before making his way to the bed.
"I was waiting for you…"
She said, and as Kiernan laid down beside her, she covered him with the blanket and snuggled close to him.
"Well, I have good news…"
Kiernan said, put his arm under Aoi's head, and then continued.
"We don't need to worry about the Lovely Flower Sect anymore. They've been dealt with, and we don't have to be hiding any longer."
"What, really?"
Aoi asked in shock.
It hadn't even been a day since they started hiding, and the Lovely Flower Sect was already dealt with?
It made her wonder what Kiernan did to achieve such a feat, as she could tell based on the mirror world that Evelyn was capable of conjuring that she wasn't someone they could handle.
She wanted to ask how, but she had a feeling that Kiernan didn't quite want to answer that question, so she kept her mouth quiet.
"I think we should move again. This attic arrangement was going to be a short-term solution anyway, and now it's not needed anymore."
"Should we return to the inn? I was supposed to visit the innkeeper tomorrow to return the key, but if it's over, we can return there."
"That could be an option or…"
Kiernan looked out of the triangle window, which was close to the bed, and looked around the beautiful neighborhood.
"What if we move to this neighborhood? It's a nice place."
"It's a little bit expensive, though…"
Aoi said.
While she believed that it cost more than they currently could afford, she would love to live in this neighborhood.
It was like a dream place for her.
"I'll take on a mission to go on daily dungeon trips, and if I'm able to tackle bosses daily, there should be good money there."
Kiernan said.
While he planned to make money, he also planned to farm some experience points, as he was going to start his push to the Martial Grandmaster rank.
It wasn't going to be easy, as he was still a Low Stage Martial Master, but Kiernan was determined to put in the hard work and dedication needed to reach his goal.
"Are there any houses available here then?"
Aoi asked with sparkling eyes.
"When I was walking back, I came across a house that had an 'on sale' sign right in the yard. We can contact the owners tomorrow."
Kiernan said.
"Sounds great!"
Aoi said with a bright smile, then hugged Kiernan's body, using him as a body pillow, and quickly fell asleep.
She was already extremely tired from the long day.
…
The following day.
In the morning, Kiernan and Aoi went to check the house on the market, contacted the owners, and easily got a tour around the house.
It was a nice house with three floors and an attic. It had plenty of rooms, even too many for the two of them.
It had seven bedrooms and a large backyard. A garage big enough for two cars. Chimney with a cozy fireplace in the living room.
The living room was spacious, and it was connected to the kitchen, and the dining room. The dining room was spacious enough to have close to ten guests.
The married couple who were selling the house didn't think that someone as young as Kiernan and Aoi had enough money to afford it.
However, Kiernan pulled out all his money from the interface. It was about forty thousand gold coins. It was enough to make them change their mind.
After purchasing the house, Kiernan was now pretty much penniless.
They received the keys to the house, but the house luckily came with furniture, so they didn't have to live in an empty house for the foreseeable future.
After checking his interface and seeing his money situation, Kiernan headed straight to the dungeon while Aoi stayed behind to explore the rest of the house.
Instead of going to the Blue Dungeons, Kiernan started with the Green Dungeons for today to see the texts of those boss rooms.
Against much weaker Dungeon Dwellers, Kiernan sliced through them with his iron-hard hands with ease.
The gems that those Dungeon Dwellers dropped were of the lowest quality—black in color—and most of the merchants wouldn't even purchase them.
It was pretty much trash, but since Kiernan had plenty of space left in the inventory, he still took them with him.
Eventually, he reached the boss room and looked at the engravings on the door—there were engravings of a scene with people dining around a long table.
Kiernan recognized it as a famous painting he had seen in a museum. However, that museum and painting weren't from this world.
It was a very famous painting back on Earth.
'The last supper… I am surprised that this MR fellow is capable of engraving the very same painting. Sure, I don't know if this is a hundred percent accurate version, but I think this MR might have been a painter back on Earth…'
Kiernan pushed the doors open, and when he stepped further into the boss room, he was met with the boss creature.
"Cough… Kuku. Kaka!"
It was a gigantic parrot with the wingspan of a dragon, a long flowing tail, and rainbow-colored feathers.
"Berlin… German… School… Trip!"
The parrot squawked.
'Interesting words, it just repeated… Are those the words that this MR person said to it? It does seem like it.'
Kiernan thought, and at that moment, behind the gigantic parrot, he was able to see some text on the wall.
He looked away for now, not wanting to distract himself with the text, and focused his attention on the parrot.
'First… I'll get rid of that noisy parrot.'
