Marvel: AS A PRINCE IN ASGARD

Chapter 85: CHAPTER 85

"The Skrulls were just mentioned in the conference room, and then there was a nuke," Tony Stark said, his voice laced with bitter sarcasm. His HUD flickered with data from J.A.R.V.I.S., confirming the attack's origin.

"And let's not forget the L.A. Hell's Gate incident, the New York invasion, and Sokovia," he continued, referencing the catastrophic battles that left scars on the world. "Wow. It's almost like they don't care about human lives at all."

He turned to Phil Coulson, eyes sharp as repulsor beams charging. "Are you sure the people running America are still people?"

Phil Coulson stiffened. "The Skrulls do have the ability to mimic appearances and read surface memories," he admitted, glancing at the S.H.I.E.L.D. database logs that confirmed past Skrull infiltration attempts. "But they were refugees—Nick and I helped them. We gave them protection." His hands clenched. "Why would they turn on us?"

"Why does anyone want power?" Ragna mused. "Their ability makes infiltration laughably easy. You do have a way to check for Skrull DNA, don't you?"

Coulson paled. The blood test. Skrulls could morph their appearance, but their genetic makeup remained constant. If America's top officials were infiltrated, a simple test would expose them.

"So, the ones who ordered the nuclear strike—" Captain America spoke, his voice cold. "They could already be compromised." His grip on his shield tightened. "What was Fury's role in this?"

Ragna tilted his head. "Let's go over the facts. Coulson, when you first joined Fury, you were a Level 3 agent, weren't you?"

Coulson nodded hesitantly.

"But after Fury started working with the Skrulls, he went from agent to director in just six years. That's unprecedented in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s history," Ragna pointed out. His golden eyes glinted. "And Tony—you've suspected it, haven't you? Sometimes, the 'Nick Fury' standing in front of you wasn't really him."

Tony Stark's jaw tightened. "I can confirm at least once, the Fury I spoke to was a Skrull." His voice was grim.

Silence spread through the room like a slow-moving poison.

"And you all really think S.H.I.E.L.D. is going to listen to you now that Fury's dead?" Ragna's words cut through the tension. "We only mentioned the Skrulls, and they launched nukes at us?"

Before anyone could respond, Maria Hill burst through the doors, her face tense. "We have a problem."

"What now?" Natasha asked, already preparing for the worst.

"An agent just tried to sabotage the Helicarrier's power core. I neutralized him, but that's not all," Hill said, her voice razor-sharp. "The government just passed the New York Accord—effective immediately. The Avengers are being held responsible for civilian casualties from the Battle of New York. They've revoked our legal authority to act, accusing us of collusion with extraterrestrials."

Her next words hit like a hammer.

"They're demanding all Avengers surrender for 'evaluation'—including Tony's armor schematics. Bruce, they're classifying you as a biological weapon."

Bruce Banner's expression darkened. "They want to lock me up?"

Hill nodded. "For 'supervision.' Indefinitely."

Rage flickered in Bruce's eyes. His breathing grew heavy, muscles twitching as his skin started shifting green.

"Banner," Ragna's voice cut through like a blade. He met Bruce's gaze. "Control it."

Bruce shuddered, then forced himself to breathe. His skin returned to normal, but his fists remained clenched.

Ragna turned to the room, voice deceptively calm. "The irony? Hulk did come from alien experimentation—just not the way they think."

With a flick of his wrist, holographic images projected from the air—footage of Skrull scientists experimenting on mutated test subjects.

Green Goblin strapped to a surgical table, screaming.

Lizardmen injected with unstable serums.

Horribly disfigured mutants.

Endless human corpses, discarded like trash.

The room fell into stunned silence, until Tony Stark broke it with a growl.

"Those bastards," he hissed. "I'm calling a press conference. Right now. The world needs to know the truth."

"Good luck with that," Ragna said dryly. "The Skrulls control more than just the government. Their reach extends further than you realize."

Tony ignored him and ordered J.A.R.V.I.S. to contact the media. Within minutes, screens across America broadcasted his message.

"America's leaders may not be human," he declared. "I challenge them to take a simple genetic test. If they refuse, we all know why."

The public uproar was immediate. Protests erupted. Fear spread.

But then, the government retaliated.

In a live broadcast, multiple American officials stepped forward, rolled up their sleeves, and let doctors take their blood.

The results? Red.

They were human.

The backlash was swift. Tony Stark was branded a liar. A conspiracy theorist. Calls for his arrest flooded in.

And Ragna? He just smirked.

"Well, Tony," he said, "looks like your luck's run out."

Tony's hands curled into fists.

"I assume you remember," Ragna continued, his tone almost amused, "that you owe me an answer?"

Tony Stark lifted his head, steel in his gaze. The Avengers were out of moves. Every escape route was sealed.

Finally, he exhaled.

"I remember," he said. "And I have my answer."
