Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Seal the video footage!"

"Classify it as Level 10 confidential!"

Nick Fury knocked on the table, his voice grave as he scanned the room.

"All of you, sign a confidentiality agreement later!"

"Yes, Director!"

Everyone present knew this was big—massive, even. No one hesitated. They all stood up and

responded loudly.

Fury's single eye swept across the room once more before turning to Coulson.

"Coulson, come with me."

The two walked out of the monitoring room, one after the other. Neither spoke a word along

the way.

Once inside the Director's office, Fury sat down in his chair, resting both hands on the table.

His expression was serious as he looked at Coulson.

"Do you know about Ron Stark?"

The power Ron had displayed was astonishing. Even among the Avengers, he could be considered

a core strength.

Besides Thor, with his hammer, and the unpredictable Hulk, no one could match him.

Thor, being the prince of Asgard, wasn't always on Earth. The Hulk, when fighting, might not

differentiate between friend and foe.

In terms of raw power, even Captain America wouldn't be Ron's match.

I mean, sure, Cap could dig a hole with his shield, but it would take him a while.

And Ron?

He punched the ground and made a crater—

Four to five meters deep and nearly ten meters in diameter!

Cracks spread across the surrounding pavement.

If that lizard monster hadn't mysteriously vanished, the crater would've been even bigger.

Given enough time, Ron could probably tear down the entire school with his bare hands.

More importantly—

Unlike the Hulk, whose strength came with instability, Ron seemed to be in full control.

Sure, he was weaker than the Hulk, but he was more than strong enough to handle Earth's crises.

And he was a full-blooded Earthling.

Not to mention—

Howard Stark's adopted son.

Tony Stark's brother.

Practically destined to be close to S.H.I.E.L.D.

If Fury were a religious man, he might've said, This kid was fated to join S.H.I.E.L.D.!

He'd recruit Ron into the Avengers right away if he could.

Coulson shook his head. "Boss, I have no idea."

He pulled out a file and placed it on the desk.

"This is everything we have on Ron."

"From the day Howard found him up until now, it's all recorded here."

"I've gone through it multiple times. Nothing stands out."

"If there's anything unusual, it's his origins."

Fury casually flipped through the file.

Just as Coulson had said—

Completely ordinary.

No signs of anything supernatural.

But Coulson's last sentence hit home.

Ron's abilities… were likely inherited.

But from where?

Surrounded by lightning…

That felt oddly familiar!

No way. Absolutely not.

Ron was clearly of Asian descent.

How could Thor, with his golden locks, have a kid that looked like that?

Then… could Ron be a mutant?

Fury looked up.

Coulson met his gaze.

Three eyes locked onto the same thought.

Fury spoke in a deep voice, "Send someone to—no, you go personally."

"Find Tony. Get close to Ron. See if we can bring him into the Avengers."

His adoptive father was one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s founders.

His brother was already an Avenger.

This was practically a done deal.

As for the possibility of mutants showing up to claim him?

Ha!

Once something was in Fury's pocket, no one was getting it back.

If anything, he'd make sure to squeeze a little extra out of them.

After all, he was Nick Fury.

While Fury was issuing orders to keep this confidential—

In Alexander Pierce's office—

The former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Pierce, sat with Brock Rumlow and Jasper Sitwell.

They were watching footage of Ron's battle.

"What is this?"

Unlike the pure combat specialist Rumlow, Sitwell was the first to voice his confusion.

Pierce paused the video and pointed at the figure surrounded by lightning.

"The other two's identities are unclear for now."

"But him? That's Ron Stark."

"Stark?" The two were shocked.

Pierce nodded. "That's right. A Stark."

"Tony Stark's brother."

"No blood relation—Howard adopted him."

"Spent 21 years in a vegetative state before suddenly waking up this year."

"A few months later, he's displaying extraordinary power."

The two were silent for a while.

Pierce didn't rush them.

He let them absorb the information.

After a long pause, Sitwell slowly looked up.

Behind his glasses, his eyes gleamed with a strange light.

"Vegetative for 21 years, then suddenly waking up completely normal."

"And now he suddenly has immense power."

"There's only one explanation—he's a mutant."

"He must have spent those 21 years struggling against his abilities."

"And only recently did he fully gain control, allowing him to return to normal."
