Marvel DxD: The New Sorcerer Supreme

Chapter 41: Ch. 41 - Building the Sanctum Sanctorum! [2]

Building the Sanctum without any knowledge about carpentry and such is kind of a bit hard.

Even with the help of transmutation and Transfiguration so I won't need to find the necessary materials to build, it is still proving to be a bit difficult for me.

Thankfully though, at least my Minecraft knowledge is helping a bit.

While I was busy building the foundations for the building, I taking inspirations from the original look of the Sanctum Sanctorum.

From what I could remember, Sanctums have a bit of a Victorian-style appearance so there's that.

"He doesn't know what he's doing." I hear Sylphie mutter from my behind followed by a series of agreements from her companions.

My face turns a bit red after hearing them.

Maybe they're right. I should probably take the Village Chief's offer and hire those people he recommended to me.

It took me a minute to find the village chief who was busy tending to some village affairs before presenting to him my blueprint for the Sanctum.

"Hmm, this one reminds me of something. May I ask, Master Chamber, but do you hail from Europe? I don't mean to invade your personal information but this one has a bit of a touch from those Northern white people."

"The Brits?" I said with a hint of surprise in my tone.

"Is that what they are called? Yes yes, this drawing reminds me of their structures."

"So…can your men do it?" I asked with a hint of hope in my tone.

"I have trust in my boys, I'm sure they can do this but you know…there will be a problem." The village chief said after a bit of hesitation, his eyes hovering towards mine.

Immediately understanding what he meant, I assured him.

If it's about the materials, you don't have to worry, they can just build it with wood and iron."

"Are you sure? I know quite a few people who can get you expensive materials for this Sanctum of yours. I can introduce you to them." The village chief insisted.

"It'll be fine, chief. Don't worry, I have my ways." I replied with a confident smirk on my face.

You know, having Transmutation is actually some sort of a cheat.

Once the Sanctum is built with wood and iron, I can just use my Transmutation spell on the said materials, transmuting them into the expensive and better materials.

See, being a sorcerer has its perks.

"Hmm, okay then. Your choice, I'll call my men and show them this sketch. Knowing them, they'll know what to do." The village chief confidently said.

"I'll leave it to you then, chief." I replied before leaving.

Glad that the matter of my Sanctum is done, I returned to the farm house and saw my little apprentice, Tam practicing with his whips.

Slap!

Snap!

Like a ballerina, Tam danced around the ground, his footwork needs some work but his way of handling the mystic whips are fine enough.

Though I believe his speed should be refined. He's a bit too slow compared to a full-fledged sorcerer back in the Marvel Universe.

Sure his devil constitution is already helping him enough but he's still a child, so his strength isn't that strong compared to an average low-class devil.

Standing around him were Grandpa Rad and his sister, Belle.

Well, since I have nothing much to do today, I might as well as train him and strengthen my upcoming Masters of the Mystic Arts.

"Master!" Upon seeing me, Tam's face lit up as he dispelled his whip and rushed to hug me. His speed far surpassing the speed of kids his age.

Crouching, I accepted his hug. If he were to hug a normal human, he would break their bones no doubt.

"What's up, little man?" I ruffled his hair and said, at the same time, Belle and Grandpa Rad arrived behind him.

"I already learned the mystic whip spell you told me! Also, look at this!" Backing away, Tam waved his hand and a small Tao Mandala appeared, albeit it was flickering for a few times before disappearing.

"Although I haven't got the hold of it yet, but I know I'm near! I can feel it!" Tam excitedly said as he jumped around me.

As for me, I could only say 'Wow' like literally.

Tam's talent is definitely above the average if he were in Kamar-Taj.

It's only been like a week since I taught him those two techniques he showed earlier and he already learned one and near learning the other one.

Looks like there's a reason why it took me three evil-piece pawns to revive him.

If I have time, I'll talk to Ajuka more about this and see what it fully means.

All I know is that the stronger they are, the more pieces it takes.

What I want to know is the specific strength makes it so more pieces are needed to turn someone into a devil. Like, is it soul strength? Magical strength? Physical? Mental?

I have so many questions about the Evil Pieces and I can already see its immense potential.

The fact that you can make someone as strong if not, stronger than even Captain America along with a few boons with just an Evil Piece is enough for literally anyone to know how massive the potential of the Evil Pieces are.

My only theory for now is that the stronger their latent magical potential is, the more pieces it takes.

Of course, this theory isn't permanent and simply a temporary one because Tam, before I turn him into a devil, has large reserves of mana. And now that he turned into a devil, only then I saw his talent in magic.

With these two combined, I theorized that the reason why it took me three evil pieces to reincarnate him.

"Are you going to teach me more magic spells, Master?" Tam asked with a hint of hope and eagerness in his voice.

Behind him, Grandpa chuckled softly while a look of slight envy appeared in Belle's eyes which immediately caught my attention.

I can see that she's trying her best to hide this feeling from her brother and just support him from the sidelines.

But you know, it's pretty much hard to hide the fact that you're younger brother is more special than you, that he seemed to be favoured by the Gods and yet, you're just normal.

'I knew this would happen sooner or later.' I muttered to myself. Thankfully, I was prepared for this and knew this would happen.

"Of course, I'll teach you more later but for now, I'll talk to your sister." I smiled and patted his head.

Belle, surprised by my words, blinked her eyes out of confusion.

Tam, also confused but nodded his head obediently.

"Well, you youngsters go do what you want. I'll go out and drink in the Tavern with my friends." Without waiting for our response, the old man waved his hands goodbye and walked away.

"Tam, keep practicing your Tao Mandalas. Later, I'll guide you if you're still having trouble about it, okay?" After that, he rushed back to the clearing and started training.

As for Belle, she stayed with a little bit of fear on her face.

"Y-You need me, Master Chamber? D-Did I do something wrong?" Belle stepped forward and asked, stuttering out of trepidation.

"Don't worry, Belle. You did nothing wrong. I just…noticed something out of you."

"Me?" Belle blinked her eyes in surprise.

"Of course. You know, we, the Masters of the Mystic Arts doesn't require any talent or knowledge if you want to learn our way. All you need is drive and determination to learn, not in a bad way but for the goodness of others." While speaking, I couldn't help but sit in a lotus pose.

Belle, albeit confused, did the same and we both sat on the ground whilst facing each other.

"To learn the mystic arts. You must first have an open mind. Accept that not everything can be explained in a scientific way. You must learn how to accept that this is the reality."

"Belle." I said, after noticing that she's losing focus on me.

"Yes, Master Chamber?" She replied.

"I want you to open your eyes." Before she could react, I already placed my thumb on her forehead and casted the illusion inside her mind.

***

[Belle PoV]

I don't know why Master Chamber wanted to talk to me like this. His words, was a bit confusing.

What does he mean by having an open mind? Do I need to…break open my head? But, won't that kill me?

I wish I could've been educated. I barely know anything in this world and my knowledge is lacking.

Suddenly, while I was deep submerged in my mind, Master Chamber surprised me when he placed his thumb in the middle of my forehead.

What is he doi-!?

Before I could register the meaning behind his movement, I suddenly found myself being pulled back, as if my very own being is clutched and pulled harshly.

I can see the surroundings blurring due to the sheer speed of the pull.

Before I knew it, I found myself floating a very colorful space. A weird sight of different shapes and sizes floating around me.

Then, I was whisked away again and the surroundings has changed.

This time, there was a being staring at me, he was purple and made of nothing but sheer darkness.

I can see him trying to tell me something but before I could try to hear him, I was once again in a different place.

This time, I was surrounded by a dark space again but with little lights that looks like the stars during the night.

In front of me was a huge ball with the mixed color of greens blue and hazy white.

What am I even staring at? What is this?

The next thing I saw was a bunch of hazy figures with white wings rushing forward and colliding with red-skinned people with horns and armors.

Are these….Angels and Devils? I've heard about them from the next village's church.

Angels are supposed to be the Good guys while Devils are bad, right?

Before I could finish my thoughts, I was pulled again and now, I'm standing in front of a massive being made of pure white light, to the point that my eyes starts to hurt.

I can't even fully see its appearance due to the intense white light.

During all these events, I tried to scream out of horror and fright. After all, this is the first time I've experienced this kind of thing and will probably be the last one.

Once again, I felt the same pulling sensation for the last time and before my eyes could register my blurry surroundings, I realized I'm back sitting in front of Master Chamber.

"W-W-W-What was that, Master Chamber?" Despite sitting on the ground, I felt exhaustion on my entire body and I couldn't help but slouch my back and place my hand on the ground to support myself.

"It's the world, Belle. The world that we're living at." Was his answer.

"…Am I…qualified?" I asked with expectations plastered in my face.

"More than qualified. Wear this." While standing up, Master Chamber conjured a mix of black and dark brown robe.

"Welcome to the Masters of the Mystic Arts, Belle." He said with a smile on his face before sauntering towards my brother who was busy training with his whips and Tao Mandalas.

Looking down on the robe in my hand, I couldn't help but form a soft smile on my face.

Thank you, Master Chamber.
