Chapter 106: Chapter 102. Tony Transforms from ADC to Bruiser
Noah knew that Asgardian artifacts could empower individuals. For example, in "Thor: Love and Thunder," Jane Foster, wielding a broken Mjolnir, transformed into the Mighty Thor – a prime example. Now, it seemed Tony was in a similar situation.
He pondered: if Jane could become Thor because Thor himself commanded Mjolnir to protect her, then the power of artifacts was accessible only to those who gained their recognition. However, what was the reason for Tony's unusual state?
"Be careful, Noah!"
While he was thinking, Tony, now faster and stronger, darted towards him, fist rocketing through the air. He felt the power behind Tony's blows, though he understood that Tony still wasn't on his level. After all, in his combat suit, enhanced by magic, Noah could rival the Hulk.
Bam-Bam!
Bam!
"It seems the power of these fragments isn't that great," Noah thought, continuing to spar with Tony.
Tony was likely under the influence of Asgardian magic, similar to Jane when Mjolnir empowered her with the god's strength. However, his armor was composed only of fragments of the Destroyer, and therefore couldn't grant him Thor-level power. Perhaps, if he gathered the remaining fragments, he could obtain its full power.
Noah continued to analyze the situation while Tony reveled in his body's new state. He was exhilarated by the feeling of power. Previously, when wearing his armor, he mainly relied on missiles and repulsors, only occasionally engaging in close combat. The sensation of physical blows hadn't been satisfying, as even ordinary people would lose consciousness from a couple of his punches.
Tony was 35 years old, and although his body had weakened due to years of indulgence, he now felt incredibly strong. Energy practically surged within him, and he was confident he could kill a bull with a single blow.
He savored the moment, understanding that Noah was holding back, giving him the opportunity to experience the new armor. Jarvis continued to provide combat advice, which he could now implement thanks to his increased abilities. He utilized techniques from many fighting styles – from Jeet Kune Do to Muay Thai and Chinese martial arts.
Noah noticed that Tony was getting carried away with the fight and progressing rapidly, learning on the fly. But in the midst of the spar, Jarvis interrupted his excitement with a splash of cold water: "Sir, the reactor's energy level has dropped to 5%."
These words brought him back to reality.
"What? So fast?" Tony attempted a counterattack but realized it was time to end the fight. He couldn't risk it; if the reactor's energy depleted, he not only wouldn't be able to return home but his life would be in danger due to the shrapnel in his chest.
However, as soon as Jarvis warned about the critical energy level, the runes on the armor began to fade, taking the enhancement with them. Tony tried to stop, but it was too late – his leg's momentum culminated in a powerful kick, which Noah effortlessly parried, intercepting it and holding his leg in midair.
Noah employed a move from Sett's arsenal, executing a perfect German suplex, slamming Tony powerfully into the ground.
Crash!!
The ground beneath Tony cracked, and his armor slammed into the earth with a deafening roar. The impact was so forceful that even Tony's armor-protected neck suffered significant trauma.
"Damn, my neck!" Tony gasped, feeling a sharp pain. Noah noticed that the runes on the armor had vanished, and Tony remained in the same position he landed in after the impact.
"Hey, Noah, help me up, I think I hurt my neck," Tony managed to force out. He felt incredibly awkward, unable to move, and the whole situation seemed very humiliating, especially with someone watching.
"Um…."
Noah was a bit taken aback by the situation. How could such a coincidence occur? He had just gotten carried away with the fight, allowing Sett's spirit to take over, delivering a powerful blow, and at that very moment, Tony's enhancement suddenly disappeared.
But since Tony had been injured because of him, he decided to help him recover. He pulled an elegant golden bell from his pocket.
"Ding-Ding~~"
It was the chime of Mikael's Blessing, which not only removed negative effects but also healed allies.
The pure sound of the bell rang next to Tony, who initially didn't understand what it was. But soon he realized the pain was gone. Pushing himself up with his hands, he raised his head, freeing himself from the awkward position. Rotating his neck, he noticed the pain had indeed vanished, and he felt a surprising calmness. All the adrenaline from the fight and the excitement of discovering the armor's hidden abilities suddenly subsided.
Slightly bewildered, Tony looked at Noah, who held the golden bell in his hand. Connecting the sound with the disappearance of the pain, he realized that this artifact had healed his neck.
Tony glanced at his Destroyer armor. The glowing runes had vanished, but the feeling of power he had experienced was etched in his memory. He clenched his fists, still feeling a faint echo of that might.
"How are you feeling?"
