Marvel: I can summon heroes from League of Legends

Chapter 157: Chapter 153. Arrival

"Nick Fury's base is really in the middle of nowhere," Noah remarked, looking around after stepping through the portal and finding himself near the address Fury had sent him.

He was surrounded by wilderness once again. He noticed that lately, he kept ending up in such places – whether searching for Bruce Banner or the Leader, all the events unfolded in remote locations. Surveying his surroundings, he activated his magic to scan the area and pressed a button on his belt. The black nanosuit began to cover his body, starting from his waist.

Fury's base was about a kilometer away. He decided not to teleport directly to the specified location due to the large number of personnel present; there was no need to attract unnecessary attention.

Suit equipped, Noah flew towards the base. It looked like a medium-sized factory surrounded by a high wall. The base covered an area of about a thousand square meters, and, judging by his scanners, most of the structures were on the surface, with few underground facilities.

Large underground bases were incredibly expensive and required complex technology, unless you had nanobots like Noah's, which could handle such tasks quickly and efficiently. Even Nick Fury, a master at acquiring funding, couldn't afford such expenses. That's why his base was located in such a secluded spot in the mountains, far from modern surveillance systems. Nature served as excellent camouflage.

A message from Fury appeared on his HUD:

"Are you there yet?"

He immediately replied:

"I'm at the gate. Come out and open up."

Almost simultaneously with sending the message, Noah was already above the base. The guards, seeing him, immediately aimed their weapons at him, but hesitated, recognizing him. Several guards nervously exchanged glances, and he noticed beads of sweat forming on some of their foreheads. He extended his hand, and the guards watched in horror as their weapons were ripped from their grasp and exploded into small pieces mid-air.

The weapon parts clattered against the concrete surface, and one of the guards, gulping, rushed towards the alarm button, simultaneously raising his radio to call for reinforcements. But before he could press the button, Nick Fury's voice stopped him:

"Stop scaring my men."

Fury quickly emerged, noticing what had happened.

Noah shrugged and landed smoothly. He used his suit's gravity manipulation technology to gather the scattered weapon parts onto a nearby table. All of this was technology borrowed from Lissandra, and he mused ironically that he could now cosplay Magneto... or perhaps Polaris, to be more accurate. His power wasn't quite at Magneto's level yet.

"Director Fury, long time no see. So, what's the plan?" Noah asked, noticing the red veins in Fury's eyes – he was clearly under pressure.

"We'll talk later. We're waiting for another guest," Fury replied.

"Another guest? Who is it? Tony?" Noah asked, and almost immediately, a marker appeared on his display, signaling the approach of an object.

"Looks like your guest has already arrived," he said, turning around. In the distance, a Quinjet, cloaked by a stealth system, was approaching. But for Noah's advanced detection system, this trick was useless.

After he pointed out the approaching object, Fury also looked in that direction. The invisible Quinjet gradually became visible, starting from the nose. As it landed, kicking up a cloud of dust, the ramp lowered, and several agents emerged first. Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers, engaged in a cheerful conversation, descended last. He had to admit, Black Widow truly had a knack for connecting with people, even someone like Captain America, who had been feeling lost after awakening.

"Director," Natasha approached Fury, glancing at Noah.

Fury nodded to her, then turned to Captain America:

"Steve Rogers, glad you could make it."

"What you told me is so unbelievable that I had no choice but to come," Rogers replied. Hydra truly lived up to their motto: "Cut off one head, two more shall take its place." Steve hoped that this time, he would be able to eradicate them for good.

Then his gaze settled on Noah, who stood out among the others with his high-tech suit. This reinforced his feeling of being completely out of touch with the times. But he wasn't the only one here feeling that way.

"Fury, who is this?" Steve hesitated slightly as he approached the director.

"Let's go inside, and I'll explain everything," Fury suggested.

Together, they headed inside the base.

"This is the Storm Swordsman," Fury introduced Noah, without revealing his real name.

"He provided the information about your location under the ice. Without him, you might have remained there much longer. Or perhaps forever," Fury added.

"Oh, really? It's a pleasure to meet you, Storm Swordsman," Steve extended his hand. "Thank you for the information; otherwise, I might have stayed there forever."

After awakening, he had felt lost: everyone he knew was gone, and he doubted whether he should have returned at all. But now, with Hydra resurfacing, he had a new purpose.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Captain America. I've heard about your exploits," Noah replied, shaking his hand.

When they reached the interior of the base and entered the conference room, Phil Coulson greeted them. He looked slightly nervous and agitated. Noah noticed him sneaking glances at Steve, clearly excited.

Coulson stepped forward, briefly reported the current situation to Fury, then nodded to Noah in greeting, but, as expected, didn't say his name aloud.

"Captain, hello. I'm Phil Coulson," Coulson said, shaking Steve's hand excitedly. This slightly bewildered Rogers.

After that, Coulson couldn't help himself and started a friendly conversation with Rogers, even asking him to sign a trading card he always carried with him.
