Chapter 31: "Great, Now We're Fighting the Off-Brand Kaiju"
The air vibrated with energy as the sky continued cracking apart. The eerie, fractured rifts stretched across the skyline like shattered glass, glowing with an unnatural blue-purple hue.
The roar came again—a deep, earth-shaking sound that made even Homelander tense slightly.
Something was coming.
Something big.
Deadpool's Meltdown
Deadpool snapped his head toward the audience.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
He gestured wildly toward the sky rip.
"We were this close—THIS CLOSE—to getting an actual Godzilla crossover, and NOW they go cheap on us?!"
He clutched his head.
"Oh noooo, we can't use the big G, he's copyrighted. Well guess what, genius writers?! THIS IS A FANFIC. We can do WHATEVER WE WANT!"
He turned and pointed an accusing finger at the sky.
"Toho Studios isn't gonna sue a multiversal apocalypse! I bet Godzilla would LOVE to drop-kick a cosmic horror into the sun!"
Everyone stared at him.
Steve blinked. "What the hell is he talking about?"
Hughie sighed. "Honestly, I just let it happen at this point."
The Beast Emerges
The rifts pulsed, and the air split apart.
Then—a massive clawed hand pushed through the opening, its skin shimmering like liquid obsidian.
Another roar shook the world as the creature finally stepped out.
It was HUGE.
A towering, scaled monstrosity, its body a nightmarish blend of organic muscle and jagged crystalline formations. Its eyes burned white-hot, flickering with pure dimensional energy. Spikes lined its back, pulsing like a heartbeat.
It wasn't Godzilla.
But it was close enough to make Deadpool furious.
Deadpool threw his hands up.
"OH, COME ON! THIS IS JUST GODZILLA IN A DIFFERENT FONT!"
Tony rubbed his eyes. "I'm already exhausted."
Deadpool turned back to the audience, completely ignoring the Kaiju apocalypse unfolding behind him.
"Listen, I know we're legally not allowed to call this thing Godzilla, but come on. LOOK AT IT. It's Tall, Dark, and Lizard-y. It's clearly got the 'Oh Crap' energy of the King of Monsters. And you wanna tell me we're going with Discount Space Zilla™ instead?!"
The Kaiju stomped forward, its presence warping gravity itself. The ground cracked beneath its feet.
Steve readied his shield. "Deadpool. Shut up."
Deadpool dramatically gasped.
"SHUT UP?! ME?! CAP, HOW DARE YOU?! I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS!"
Homelander, watching the massive creature for a second, slowly looked back at Deadpool.
"...Does he ever stop talking?"
"No," everyone said at once.
Tony scanned the creature with his suit's sensors. "Okay. Good news and bad news."
"Start with the good," Hughie said.
"Good news: It's not directly attacking us yet."
"But?" Steve asked.
Tony sighed. "Bad news: It's big enough to make the Hulk look like a house cat."
Butcher wiped blood from his mouth. "Lovely. So do we fight the lizard or each other?"
Homelander grinned. "Why not both?"
The Ultimate Dilemma
The Kaiju lifted its head, its glowing eyes fixating on the city.
It let out a roar so powerful, the dimensional rifts around it shattered even further, sending waves of energy rippling outward.
Glass exploded from buildings. Cars lifted off the streets from the force. The very air distorted as the thing prepared to move.
Steve exhaled sharply. "This thing could flatten the entire city in minutes."
Homelander tilted his head. "You say that like it's a bad thing."
Steve gritted his teeth. "We need to stop it. Now."
Tony nodded. "Agreed. But we need a strategy. If we rush in blind, we're dead."
Homelander chuckled. "Speak for yourself."
Butcher rolled his shoulders. "Alright then. Let's see if your fancy cape'll save you from this thing, wanker."
Deadpool clapped excitedly. "YES! TEAM-UP EPISODE! I LOVE THESE!"
Everyone turned toward him.
"We are NOT a team," Tony snapped.
Deadpool winked at the audience. "Yet."
Final Moments Before Battle
The Kaiju roared again.
The Seven. The Avengers. The Boys.
All staring at the massive cosmic horror standing in the middle of a crumbling city.
Steve adjusted his shield. "We take it down before it levels everything."
Homelander floated slightly higher, smirking. "Sure. But don't get in my way."
Deadpool hopped excitedly. "LET'S GOOOOO!"
The Kaiju moved.
The fight began.
