Chapter 62: Chapter 62: A New Magical World
Chapter 62: A New Magical World
George's plan was simple: joining the English National Quidditch Team now would boost his fame, but he didn't want to waste time on training and matches. So, he pushed it to his fourth year.
By then, Voldemort would have returned, and the wizarding world would be in chaos. He wouldn't need to waste time on Quidditch training.
It was a win-win situation.
"If you don't agree, then forget it."
Seeing Bagman hesitate, George lowered his head and returned to his spellbook.
Bagman, realizing he might lose George, quickly nodded:
"Agreed, agreed! I'll go speak to your headmaster right now, and we'll sign the contract today."
Fourth year was better than nothing.
He could immediately start promoting this, letting everyone know he'd recruited a prodigy for the English team. This would silence his critics at the Ministry.
The next morning, during breakfast, owls flooded the Great Hall as usual, delivering mail to the students.
But soon, exclamations echoed through the hall.
"George, you've been recruited by the English National Quidditch Team!"
"Look here! It says, 'The head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports has discovered a once-in-a-millennium Quidditch prodigy at Hogwarts. In his first year, he scored thirty goals in a single match, surpassing even Viktor Krum of the Bulgarian National Team.'
George, that's you!"
"Check the back of the paper! There's a photo of George, Bagman, Snape, and Dumbledore!"
Students who subscribed to the *Daily Prophet* quickly noticed the headline, and the entire Great Hall erupted in excitement.
After enduring a barrage of questions from starry-eyed students, George finally managed to escape the Great Hall.
He was grateful it was Sunday. If it had been a weekday, the crowd would have been even larger, and he wouldn't have gotten away so easily.
That afternoon, while the school buzzed about George's recruitment, the second attack occurred.
Colin Creevey, a Muggle-born student, was found petrified, just like Mrs. Norris, and taken to the hospital wing.
Rumors spread like wildfire, and everyone became paranoid. Students began moving in groups, fearing they might be the next target.
George didn't intervene, only visiting Colin in the hospital as a friend.
With Dumbledore around, no student would actually be killed by the basilisk. The headmaster was likely using this to train Harry, the future savior.
George doubted Dumbledore was unaware of the basilisk's presence in the castle.
After Colin's attack, Harry, Ron, and Hermione became even more convinced that Malfoy was the heir.
To protect other Muggle-borns, Hermione began brewing Polyjuice Potion in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. George didn't get involved, continuing to focus on his magical studies.
By the second week of December, Professor Snape came to the Slytherin common room to collect names of students staying at Hogwarts over Christmas.
George didn't sign up. He planned to spend the holiday in Diagon Alley, learning how to make wands.
He had been studying wandlore in the library, but many aspects remained unclear, and there were no professors at Hogwarts specializing in the subject.
So, he decided to seek out Ollivander, the expert wandmaker, during the holidays.
He didn't mind paying extra for lessons.
Without mastering wand-making, he couldn't rely on magic as his primary combat method in the Marvel world.
Hand gestures were too slow for battle, where every second counted.
Only by crafting a high-quality wand in the Marvel world could he fully unleash his magical potential.
However, that evening, something unexpected happened.
In the Marvel universe, George was practicing the Freezing Charm in the mutant training room when a familiar, searing pain shot through his body.
"Am I splitting again?"
After the pain subsided, George felt a new perspective emerge. He couldn't help but sigh.
He had suspected that his soul-splitting ability might not be a one-time occurrence.
"Let's see the new body and world."
Shifting his focus to the new perspective, six years of memories flooded his mind.
This time, his new body wasn't human—it was a cat. But not an ordinary cat. This was a magical cat, born with the innate ability to fly and speak.
The cat's name was Jinjin, named for its golden fur, which made it resemble a small lion.
Six years ago, Jinjin hatched from an egg in a forest. Yes, hatched. Unlike normal cats, Jinjin's species laid eggs.
Shortly after birth, Jinjin awakened its racial ability to use "Wing" magic, allowing it to fly and survive in the forest.
At around three years old, Jinjin began pondering its origins and set out to find its parents, venturing beyond the forest for the first time.
After three years of travel, Jinjin had gained a basic understanding of its world.
This world was called Earthland, a magical realm ruled by humans.
Magic was deeply ingrained in everyday life. Even ordinary civilians who didn't study magic used magical items, and magical shops lined the streets.
The most distinctive features were the wizards and the wizard guilds scattered across cities.
Wizards were individuals who studied and used magic for combat, and wizard guilds, in George's view, were akin to mercenary guilds. They accepted tasks for payment, but all members were wizards.
There were many wizard guilds in this world, each operating as an independent organization.
During his travels, Jinjin learned of a guild called "Fairy Tail" in the Kingdom of Fiore, reputed to be one of the strongest wizard guilds in the country.
Among its members was a powerful wizard known as "Salamander," who had a flying, talking cat named Happy.
Jinjin suspected Happy might be of the same species and hoped to find him at Fairy Tail to learn more about its origins.
Unfortunately, on the way to Magnolia, the city where Fairy Tail was located, Jinjin encountered dark wizards from a rogue guild. Refusing to be captured as a pet, Jinjin fought back and died at their hands.
Thus, George's split soul took over the body.
