Meteor Fall Master in the 'Starry Abyss'

Chapter 3: Prewar Reconciliation (Part 2)

Only those who desperately resist and fight bravely have the value for united front work.

"Heaven helps those who help themselves. People who surrender at the first sign of trouble do not deserve to live."

Li Aozi clenched his fists and took a deep breath:

"There are not many things left to do, just do your best and leave the rest to fate."

The worst plans have been prepared. Next, go all out and concentrate all resources to improve oneself.

He cut his wrist, extracted one hundred milliliters of blood, packed it, and handed it to Nephis:

"Go to the corner of Narvin Alley, find a girl named Kerna, and tell her: Lulisha Lundsk, you plan to die as a human or live as a monster."

"Okay, boss." Nephis nodded and turned to leave.

"Wait a minute! I haven't finished speaking yet."

Li Aozi stopped Nephis:

"If she answers: die as a human, give her this blood, let her drink it, and then kill her. If she chooses to live as a monster, then kill her directly."

"Yes, boss."

Nephis nodded and stood stationary for a long moment.

"Nephis?"

"Boss," Nephis spoke: "What if the girl wants to live as a human?"

"She can't live."

Li Aozi said calmly:

"Her father is the Silver Rank Hunter Disweil Lutonzk. Lulisha, as the child of a hunter, has already been polluted by the [Society] for too long and has killed countless mortals alongside him. Neither law, doctrine, nor morality can tolerate her continuing to live."

"...Is that so?"

Nephis looked at the blood in her hand and asked:

"Boss, what would you do if one day I become a Citizen of the [Society]?"

"The same." Li Aozi said: "If you kill too many people as a Citizen, I will turn you back into a human, then kill you."

"I also killed many people once," Nephis paused: "Boss, why didn't you kill me?"

"Because you still have some use. Consider yourself to be repaying a debt, so I will unceremoniously conduct all sorts of human experiments on you. Just slowly redeem yourself through combat and this body."

Li Aozi spoke objectively and his words were complete, very much in line with his usual realistic style.

"What if Merid and Dialan become Citizens?"

"Merid can't change, she's not biological, and Dialan is the same. All the people around me, no matter how close, are handled the same way once they become part of the [Society]."

Li Aozi said:

"But not me, because I'm afraid of death. As long as I can live, it doesn't matter who I sacrifice, I will not die for someone else."

[The target believed your statement.]

"Then why are you still opposing Lord Entropy?" Nephis asked puzzled: "Sacrificing the inhabitants of a planet should be insignificant to you. Why face Lord Entropy, a stronger enemy than ever before, even at the cost of some of your future?"

"You heard me talking to N4 then."

Li Aozi wasn't surprised:

"Because I can."

"I have my principles and perseverance. Anything I can do that others can't, I must do."

"Worldly morals can't constrain an Ascender like me. I've already felt that my lifespan will become particularly long in the future. If I don't adhere to some principles, I feel my mind will gradually wear down."

"So, don't ask whether it should be done, ask whether I can do it — that's enough."

Nephis fell silent, Li Aozi didn't know what she was thinking, but at least from her clearer gaze, it seems she had made up her mind.

She held the bottle filled with blood tightly and nodded to Li Aozi:

"I will continue to serve you and complete my Redemption."

Nephis turned and left, her steps much more determined.

Li Aozi also closed his eyes and let his thoughts immerse deeply.

Li Aozi skimmed over this information, filtering out all back-end private message business ads and spam with one click. There was still some time before the version update, and the Invincible True General couldn't take action yet.

Transferred twenty thousand Point Tickets to the main account, enough to spend for now.

Generally, when the main account decides to venture to the Underwater Abyss, the secondary account needs to remain on the upper level.

Players usually solve this by hiring a pro-player, but Li Aozi is different. As an unregistered player, Li Aozi's account doesn't have an ID number, he can't even cash out Point Tickets.

Therefore, he's always required in-game Point Tickets settlement for business transactions.

Thus, in the foreseeable future, True General will likely have to stay in Layer Abyss, but at this rate, True General's popularity will wane. People come to watch True General's PvP dominance, not to see a clown looking into a Mirror.

For Li Aozi, losing streaming popularity means losing a stable source of Point Tickets. He's always made his fortune through middlemen, so there's no way he would let this issue slide.

To ensure True General's strength doesn't decline, he needs to find himself a few bodyguards and then have True General escorted all the way to the lower realms of Starry Abyss.
