Meteor Fall Master in the 'Starry Abyss'

Chapter 3: Reconciliation Before the War

[Corona Pope]

As a Third Transformation occupation in the Sovereign series, it lacks the terrifying dominion it had during the Lunar String Archbishop period when it crushed all second-tier occupations, despite the grand name. In essence, it is a pure Mage.

All along, from Xides' perspective, the Meteor Fall Master wasn't weak at all and had a smooth growth curve.

At first glance, it seems like a niche occupation, but playing such a niche occupation to its fullest and showing its strength later is reminiscent of bumping into a Mechanic.

But in reality, the reason why the Meteor Fall Master became a reclusive niche is because of the Pope taking the blame.

During the Pope phase, the frail body, overly long chanting times, and harsh occupational development severely impacted players' interest in playing.

The Mutant has versatile gameplay, the Echoer has a distinct advantage against groups, and the Bishop is a highly mobile Spell Assassin with area damage.

But when players reached the Pope phase, they were all dumbfounded.

Because it's just a pure Starry Abyss Mage.

But then again, a starved camel is still bigger than a horse.

Ascending to Corona Pope, despite countless shortcomings, there is one aspect Li Aozi cannot refuse.

– The Pope is the only one among Third Transformation occupations that, at Non-Kappa Order (10), has planet-level destructive power.

The only one.

It can annihilate any non-stellar-level planet.

This one aspect of the Pope cannot be matched by the Bishop.

With the star-exploding capability of the Pope as a backup, Li Aozi had absolute confidence to continue fighting.

After all, the Lunar String Archbishop is an occupation with inherent stacking ability, and with a new version open, countless players flooding in will bring significant enhancements to Li Aozi's pathway, making the confrontation with Lord Entropy not an issue.

Theoretically, they've considered many worst-case scenarios, which is why from the time Li Aozi arrived at the Starry Abyss, he has been committed to transferring elite players and even Azure Star immigrants under his control on Baizhu Star.

– No matter how much more humane he is than Leoz, that utilitarian character is impossible to change.

The benefits of this are self-evident, even if Azure Star explodes, players already form a sizable community on Baizhu Star.

Compared to other player planets with cultural and server restrictions, everyone here is one of their own, and the benefits are great. Other Azure Star players, unless foolish, would prioritize continued development on Baizhu Star.

One could say Li Aozi considered the worst-case scenario (another Azure Star explosion) from the start.

With plans so far, his outcomes range only in small wins, medium wins, big wins, or overwhelming victories.

To put it bluntly, how many of those past connections can still be helpful to him?

Just like a content creator who once catered to you, calling you a refined little piggy girl, but now your wallet is tight, he'll scorn you for not working hard, questioning why you haven't reflected on why you're broke.

As for past Frost Plated and Red Arrow, in reality, they can no longer provide Li Aozi much help.

David Lyn is an excellent politician and soldier, Emperor Rudolf has a unique way of governing, and Gretto is a teammate he thinks highly of.

But unfortunately, these outstanding talents belong to different nations on Azure Star, not to him.

– Unless all Four Nations are obliterated.

As a master's graduate with one year of study, Li Aozi has broadened his perspective considerably.

His idea is straightforward: give a little more pressure to the Four Nations to crumble without being attacked, eventually descending into chaos.

Finally, he would step in, lead the Heavenly Soldiers down, swiftly resolve Lord Entropy, and be greeted with sustenance and wine, wholeheartedly welcomed wherever he goes.

In doing so, he can maximize profits, fully integrating the hearts of the Azure Star people and the planet under his control.

However, real-life situations never follow logic.

Even with a prophetic ability, the degree to which Azure Star spiraled out of control exceeded his expectations.

Li Aozi understands clearly that Azure Star cannot hold on much longer.

During version updates, while Li Aozi's alternate character, Invincible True General, cannot be moved, through the summons, he keeps up with the news.

The result is, his summoned body, brother Isaac, is required to take the Euphoric Heart issued by Red Arrow daily. Had he not checked in occasionally, he would be a lazy shut-in waiting for death.

Even Isaac, who is relatively motivated, couldn't withstand the chemical bliss; Li Aozi dares not imagine the outcome for ordinary Red Arrow People under these drugs—most likely drowning in false revelry.

This also reflects Red Arrow's attitude towards Lord Entropy:

Desperation

Lord Entropy's awakening of power is progressing several times faster than anticipated, or perhaps the self-rescue strategies of national leaders like David Lyn considerably stimulated Lord Entropy.

Yet, precisely because of this, Li Aozi admires talents like David Lyn even more.

He never looks down on those facing doomsday, helplessly resigning to fate. Such surrendering types, even if they are Speakers under the Secret Society, wouldn't catch Li Aozi's eye.
