MHA: A Villain's Leading Wish

Chapter 17: Fateful Meeting

'I will show everyone that anyone can become a hero.'

Midoriya gripped the ball tightly and threw it in the air.

The ball traveled for seventy meters before falling to the ground.

An impressive feat for a quirkless boy.

The teacher's expression remained passive, without showing much emotion.

'I guess he has some potential for a quirkless student, I will have to keep an eye on him.'

Shinji was looking at the teacher with a slight smile.

It was satisfying seeing the green haired boy succeeding after being told otherwise by countless people.

More students came up to do the test before the evaluation was over.

The results were out and he was skeptical about the information shown on the screen.

Shinji was second place, and the one above him was none other than Momo, how was that possible?

Looking at her direction, she saw him and waved. He waved back before approaching her.

"Thought you weren't going to show up in this school, why weren't you in the entrance exam?"

"I should have said this sooner but I got inside the school with a recommendation, I didn't have to take it."

Shinji raised his eyebrows a little before continuing, "I'm surprised you got first place, I wasn't expecting it."

"Why? You think I don't have what it takes?"

"It's not that, having seen your quirk I realize the potential that comes along with it. It's up to the user to push it to its limits, you've made a good job."

"Well thank you, let's head back to class, everyone already started leaving."

After returning to class, the rest of the day was uneventful, he'd almost forgotten how boring school was.

There was currently one person in his class that seemed to have potential for his future plans.

This was of course Momo, she was rich, and had a very interesting quirk, letting her materialize anything seemingly out of nowhere.

'If I had money my plans would go forward much quicker.'

Shinji stepped out of school without socializing and headed home.

When he arrived, his sister awaited him like usual, dinner was already served and waiting for him.

Having eaten, he spent some of his time with Miki before going to his room.

'Time to start working.'

Shinji opened his "new" computer and started writing his novel where he left off.

It was about a mutant boy that overcame difficulties and became the greatest hero.

He was starting small, making a novel before jumping in his next plan.

If he had the money, he could advertise it and make it very popular here in Japan, of course this depended on his writing skills.

The more society started to see Mutant quirks and quirkless people being great, the more normal and accepted it would become in the future.

This would erase some discrimination, but he wanted to go a step beyond that.

He would have to make something so significant that everyone would accept each other as equal.

After writing his novel for some hours, it was finally night time.

"Time to work."

Shinji headed downstairs where he said his goodbyes to his sister before going out to find crime.

There was a lead he was following about some human traffickers roaming around the area he was currently at.

The dark corners and long alleyways filled with trash kept crossing Shinji's eyes, nothing had changed.

His partial transformation came with an improved sense of smell which he used to find leads.

The scent of human blood filled his nose, making him instinctively follow it like a hunting dog.

It led him to an abandoned house far from the city, with his exceptional hearing, he could hear the cries of children.

"Help! Mommy."

Cautiously getting close to the sound, he became more alert.

He climbed the outside walls to the second floor and looked inside through a window.

The children were tied, some had gags covering their mouth and others had peed themselves from fear.

'I will kill these people,' he thought while digging his nails into the walls.

Shinji was about to open the window but stopped once he felt something foreign in his chest.

It was a feeling, fear, he could instinctively realize what this said to him.

He looked inside the room and saw a small heterochromatic girl looking straight at him.

Purple left eye, pink right eye. Based on her stature and build she must be at least six years of age.

Shinji realized that this dark haired girl was using her quirk on him.

Once he understood where this fear was coming from, he opened his eyes widely and dodged to his right.

A spear had landed in his previous location.

Looking down from the house, he saw a toad man with a bucket filled with sharp spears on his back.

'How did he avoid my detection?'

"Tch, looks like I missed gegeh," a disgusting sound came out of his mouth.

Shinji bared his teeth, looked at the toad man, and with a serious expression on his face, he thought, 'I will save these children.'
