Chapter 518: Feed
The Second Supreme Monarch watched with an expressionless face from above. His demeanor calm as a lake, his blood red Vampiric eyes staring at the space that just tore open before him.
The Eighth Supreme was the first to step, and she immediately teleported to her own seat. His eyes didn't leave the portal before him. He wanted to see the human boy who was said to evade a Supreme Monarch and a Demon Monarch.
The human boy who was said to save the entire military base Alpha-6 from certain destruction.
But not just that, he wanted to test him. Normally, the gravity here was higher; as Supreme Monarchs, it mattered not to them, but to the coming human boy, it would.
He wanted to see how he would counter, to see him struggle over spatial control with him. He knew there was no way the human boy would win, no matter how much of a genius he was.
But it was just a test, to test the human boy's spatial control. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Then the boy stepped out. He watched his white hair glow under their star's light. But that didn't matter at the moment.
He watched as gravity slammed into the boy. He watched to see the boy's mana control and spatial control. Yet, he sensed none.
Then something strange happened. He felt space slip out of his control, gravity realigning to the boy's presence.
How he had done it? He didn't know. He didn't sense any mana being used. He didn't sense any energy being used. He couldn't comprehend it.
He couldn't fathom how his own space had slipped from his grasp. Although his exterior demeanor remained unperturbed, a storm of questions swirled in his mind.
Then he felt it, the boy's eyes on him. No, on them. On all eight of them. He seemed to stare at all sixteen eyes at the same time without missing any.
They were the ones who looked down on others from above. Their existence commanded it. Their aura commanded it. Their presence commanded it. But before these very eyes, that very face that bore no expression but paradoxically bore an expression, the Second Supreme Monarch, no, all Supreme Monarchs, knew, although they sat above and Anthony stood below, it seemed like he was the one looking down on them from above.
Then he opened his mouth to speak, but before he could, he felt something. It was subtle at first, fleeting. Then it turned into a beat. Then it drummed. Then it thundered.
The Second Supreme Monarch looked internally, his own heart was beating out of his control. He, who had mastered his body to an insane degree as a Vampire. Then his blood followed; they seemed to scream and beg him to... FEED.
His eyes dropped to the boy before him. He didn't need to guess. His heart and blood were reacting to the boy's blood... or at least something on him. But he knew, it was reacting to the boy's blood.
"Welcome to the League of Supremes, young one."
A voice thundered from beside the Second Supreme Monarch.
It was the First Supreme Monarch.
Anthony met the man's golden eyes. He didn't know how to reply. Should he say it was an honour to be here? As this was the military, which worked with hierarchy, he was supposed to bow to them. But Anthony didn't do that; he stood, waiting for the man with the golden eyes to continue.
"First of all, as the First Supreme, I want to say thank you for saving the soldiers and the Logistics Department members from the military base Alpha-6. I believe I speak for everyone here when I say this."
The First Supreme Monarch continued, his voice ancient and sage-like.
Anthony couldn't see the man. He seemed covered in haze from head to toe, as only his golden eyes with ring-like patterns etched into them seemed to exist.
Anthony's lips parted as he replied, "I've only done what is required of me as a soldier. I had the power, I only just had to use it."
Then the Second Supreme Monarch spoke, after he calmed down his heart and blood.
"We read the report from the Warlords. It was said you destroyed the Severed Crown of Echoes. Is that correct?"
"Yes," Anthony intoned.
"But we have intel that you didn't, Lieutenant Anthony. Care to explain?"
The Fourth Supreme Monarch spoke from the side, a smile on his face.
"The one who gave you the intel should be doing the explanation, not me," Anthony replied calmly, his gaze still fixed on all Supremes.
Null Michael, the Eighth Supreme, watched it all unfold with a smile. He didn't speak; he just wanted to watch his son at this moment.
Before another Supreme could speak, Mitchelle finally spoke. "There is no need to hide it, son. I gave them the intel about the Crown."
Anthony was stunned. His mind couldn't help but churn as he thought about how his mother had found out, because he never told her. At the end, Anthony just concluded it was one of the many special abilities that existed in the universe.
If it was any other person, Anthony would have simply denied it without bothering. But since it was his mother, he had no choice but to give in.
'Things we do for family.' Anthony thought with a mental sigh.
"I will give it to you, for a favour?" Anthony spoke calmly.
"We have no reason to grant you any favours, Lieutenant Anthony. The Severed Crown of Echoes is a property of the military."
The Seventh Supreme spoke, her voice calm like a goddess.
Anthony opened his mouth to speak, but the First Monarch spoke first.
"What favour, young one? As long as it isn't excessive, we would grant it."
"I will tell you about my favour when I'm leaving," Anthony spoke, as his hand rose and the Severed Crown of Echoes appeared above him.
The moment it appeared, it vanished before him under the First Supreme Monarch's control.
