Chapter 308: Ups And Downs.
But if she brought out powerful artifacts to win, she would lose the fight because they had decided to fight barehanded.
It was an arrangement that she had agreed to because she didn't think her opponent would be able to survive more than two hits from her.
Usually, her opponents would be defeated in at most two hits. Rarely can they remain standing after three hits. Even if they remain standing, they will only be a punching bag for her.
But the situation is different now. Not only is her Guam opponent fighting with her on equal terms, he was also able to slowly push her towards defeat.
Finally, she ran out of energy and was knocked to the ground. The blue-haired guy grabbed her neck and lifted her to his face.
He smiled triumphantly as he asked, "Do you admit defeat or do you admit defeat?"
She rolled her eyes at him but said, "Fine. You win."
His smile grew wider. Then he did something worse than defeating her in combat. He kissed her on the cheek.
She punched his face with all her might in retaliation to the humiliating action. Unfortunately, she didn't manage to hit him because he dropped her and distanced himself from her.
She fell on her butt, looking as if she was about to spit fire. She glared at him as if she wanted to kill him with her eyes.
But he looked complacent. He smiled smugly at her and said, "That's the first kiss, beautiful. Mark my words, I shall have a second and a third."
She roared at him, "I'll kill you."
He laughed and turned away from her. As he left, he said to her, "Remember my name; I am Leroy. That is the name of the man that will eventually win your heart just like he won this match."
He didn't wait to hear her response. Instead, he ran away. He ran up the mountain towards his accommodation.
It was a good thing that he was running, because Princess was already running after him to kill him. Unfortunately, she had run out of life energy, so she couldn't chase him for long.
Not that she could catch up with him even if she had full life energy. The cultivation technique she practices doesn't boost her strength, defense, or speed, so she will always be at a disadvantage in those aspects compared to those with the same cultivation as her.
But she still wasn't going to give up. There was no way she would allow a filthy human to get away with humiliating her. It would be the shame of her life if she allowed it to happen.
While Princess was brewing schemes for revenge, news of her defeat reached the personnel hall through the observers of their fight. So the personnel adjusted the ranking list with this information.
Fourth-ranked Leroy was moved to the second position, while the previous second-ranked Princess was moved to the fourth position.
The third position Jade's position didn't change. She didn't fight anyone, and the personnel hall estimated that she might be able to defeat Princess or at least draw with her, so Jade remained in her position.
This ranking changed a week later because Princess broke through to the second transformation. She was moved back to the second position while Leroy fell down to the third position.
These changes forced Jade to fall down to the fourth position. Unless she fought the three people above her and won, she wouldn't be able to rise in position.
The ranking was forced to change again when Princess challenged Leroy but failed to defeat him despite her superior cultivation.
The two of them fought with their fists again. They didn't use spells because they hadn't learned any spells. In fact, they haven't mastered their cultivation techniques yet.
Mastering their cultivation techniques is currently their highest priority so that they will be able to maximize their cultivation speed. It is until they learn spells and fighting techniques that their fighting potential will truly reach its peak.
In the meantime, they can only fight with their fists. While Princess's strength, speed, and defense had increased by 50%, thanks to her breakthrough, it was only enough to barely match Leroy in a fistfight.
The properties of Leroy's life force caused by his lightning cultivation made him the bane of her existence. She couldn't stun him and turn him into her punching bag. But he could still hurt her.
The best she could do was survive longer than before. The fight ended in a draw. The two of them became too tired to continue fighting after punching each other for a long time.
Leroy had a better affinity for his talent than she did, so he was able to recover faster. He used this little advantage to steal a kiss on her cheek before running away triumphantly.
The result of the fight made Leroy rise from the third to the second position. After all, he was able to draw against someone with superior cultivation. It is clear that if he had the same cultivation as his opponent, he would have surely won.
Jade's position remained at the fourth, while Princess was moved to the third. Another person whose position remained unchanged was Arthur.
Even though he didn't fight anyone or take any more tests, his position remained unchanged. Not even the second round of record-breaking in the performance tests changed his position.
In the forest survival test where disciples are dropped into a forest teeming with beasts, Jade had the highest score. She was able to survive the longest by relying on her enhanced senses.
She had infrared sight and could even determine the strength and identity of an enemy by tasting the air with her tongue. So it was very easy for her to hide, escape, and survive in the forest.
In the endurance test, the fifth-ranked Williams had the highest score. His earth titan physique made it easy for him to endure the adverse conditions of ice tundras, windy and hot deserts, heavy gravity and many more.
