This part was painful. But it was just the beginning of the difficulty he will face in order to activate the armament.

The tiny roots drilled into his body and began draining him of his life energy. They were like leeches. They sucked his blood greedily, which caused him to weaken.

The blood they sucked went into the formation in the fur coat. Then the life energy was used to activate the core of the fur coat. Once activated, the fur coat came alive.

That was the best that Arthur could describe it. It felt as if he was carrying a wolf on his back. The fur coat was getting heavier as it drained his life energy.

So he was facing both physical stress from the heavy armament on his back as well as the stress caused by the severe blood loss. This is why Elder Storm Hawk asked him to reach the fourth mortal coil before trying it.

If he didn't have a strong body, he would collapse now due to the combined stress. But he had a strong body and a lot of life energy, so he was able to withstand the stress.

Next came the elemental stress. As the fur became alive, it also began to drain his internal energy and used it to produce lightning.

This caused the blue fur to light up. He had to run the technique that he was given earlier in order to control the lightning. But this meant that his mind had to wrestle with the lightning.

In order to condense the lightning mark, he must let the lightning from the fur coat enter his body and life seed. Then he must transport it to his mind by consuming his life span.

This caused his eye to become blue. His hair is still green, though. But his hair became covered by the fur coat as it began to fuse with him.

There was a lightning mark in the fur coat. It was what was responsible for converting his internal energy into lightning.

Now that he has a lightning mark in his mind, he can finally control the lightning produced by the fur coat and let it fuse with his body. This marked the completion of the activation of the Divine Lightning Armament.

After being fully activated, the fur coat directly fused with his skin, and became a true skin for him. It made him become a humanoid wolf. He was lightning wolf man.
