Mountain Sitting Immortal

Chapter 473: Shapes of Fate.

Even if what people did was just greet each other, the outcome of that interaction is heavily influenced by the fates of the two people greeting each other.

People with better fates tend to come out on top in each clash. Advantages in color and sizes determine which fate would be suppressed in an interaction and which fate would be allowed to express itself in the interaction.

The last thing he noticed were the shapes of fates. What he noticed was that there was no end to the types of shapes of fate.

The shapes and forms of fates could range from inanimate things like stones and clouds to animate things like birds and tigers. There was just no end to them.

If there was something he gained from seeing the shapes of fates, it was information about the person the fate belonged to. For example, Roar's fate is that of a small blue dog jumping around in excitement.

A small fate meant that Roar was weak. The blue color of his fate meant that his luck and destiny are average. While the shape of his fate told Arthur that Roar was a happy dog.

Arthur wasn't sure about that estimation. He said to himself, "I can't be certain that is true. My estimation of the meaning of the shape of his fate might have been biased by the previous knowledge I have of Roar."

He decided not to dwell too much on the shapes of fate because he couldn't tell anything about it for sure. His interest in the shapes of fate waned even further when he noticed that the shape of fate didn't appear to influence the outcome of an interaction.

He saw a small blue stone suppress a small green bird. It didn't make sense to him that something that was immobile could beat something that was mobile and could fly.

But then he thought of something that made him chuckle and say to himself, "Then again, stones can kill birds when thrown really hard. So maybe there is some underlying logic here that I haven't seen."

He said that, but he still chose to ignore the shape of the fates for now because if he were to discount the shape of the fates and only account for their sizes and color, the rock would still be the one to win.

The rock is blue, and blue is higher than green, so the quality of its fate is higher. Their size is similar, so the outcome of the interaction between the two fates would be determined solely by color and would be in favor of the rock.

Since he could tell the outcome of an interaction between fates based on color and sizes, he decided not to worry about the meaning of shapes anymore. Besides, he had something else to worry about, such as the full extent of the impact of the outcome of the interaction between fates.

He couldn't come to a conclusion about the full impact of the outcome of the interaction of fated years, as he needed to do more observations. So he decided to check his own fate.

He couldn't see exactly what was above his head no matter how much he tilted his head. The best he could do was catch a quick glance at it before it moved away from his vision.

His divine sense couldn't see fates, so he had to rely on his eyes to help him see them. Unfortunately, his eyes were failing him in this matter.

The best that his eyes could do was help him determine that his fate was golden and shining. The light radiating from his fate suppressed every fate around him, including Roar's.

What he saw was able to satisfy. He said to himself with pride, "So I am immensely lucky. It is to be expected since I have the Mountain Sitting Dao."

Then he thought of something that made him pause in thought.

He asked himself, "Was it because my fate was grand that I got the Mountain Sitting Dao, or was it the fact that I am in possession of the Mountain Sitting Dao that my fate became grand?"

He believes that having a gold fate is very special. Currently he is only one who he has seen who has a good fate. The highest color of fate that he has seen in others is red which is a grade six fate.

A grade nine fate like his is far higher than a grade six fate. If he is to point out a reason why he would have such a high grade fate, he can only point to the fact that he is in possession of the Mountain Sitting Dao.

But he is not sure if the Mountain Sitting Dao is the effect of having a high grade fate or it is the cause of his high grade fate. It could be one or the other. Whatever the answer is will determine if fate can be changed or not.

He couldn't figure out the answer, so he shook his head and said, "This fate thing seems like mumbo jumbo. I'll just use it to identify who is strong and who is lucky. I won't bother with the rest."

There are still a lot of things he doesn't know about fate and the purpose of the fate identification divine ability, but he is certain that he was right about his conjecture about the use of the fate identification divine ability to help him determine who to invest in.

What he needs to know who to invest in is the color of their fate. That is currently the most important thing to him. As for the size of their fate, it will serve the auxiliary function of helping him determine how strong someone was.

With that thought, he stopped thinking about the philosophical meaning of fate.

A few seconds later, they reached the lecture hall. Elder Storm Hawk was already waiting in the air for them. They went over to meet her.
