Zi You chuckled: “Don’t worry, boss. Our water army and dragon boat are all set. Just give the order, and we are ready to go and take them down.”
Yi Zheng looked very pleased as he turned to another big rabbit. This rabbit was different from the others; his arms were particularly strong, and he wasn’t holding just wooden stakes, groundhogs, or snakes. Instead, he had a giant land turtle in each hand! There was even one strapped to his back, totaling three!
Yi Zheng said: “Zi Xiong, how’s it going?”
Zi Xiong laughed: “Don’t worry, boss. We may be few in number, but our combat power will definitely not disappoint you.”
After speaking, Zi Xiong turned around and roared. A large black bear ran over, and he leaped onto it. The black bear stood up on its hind legs as Zi Xiong handed the land turtles to it. The black bear hurled the stones forward.
With a “bang,” a big rock was shattered to pieces.
The turtle then hit the ground, and immediately started running back. Its huge body and heavy shell allowed it to move surprisingly quickly, like a small bulldozer. It quickly returned to the black bear’s side. With a powerful jump, Zi Xiong grabbed it with ease.
Yi Zheng smiled with satisfaction: “As expected of my bear-style tank with repeated turtle crawling. The power is quite impressive!”
At this point, Yi Zheng had shown all his trump cards.
Human players could never imagine that the rabbits they sparred with daily, seemingly reminding them that they could work out to improve their attributes, were actually lulling them into a false sense of security.
Yi Zheng didn’t want Huaxia District players to fall too far behind, but he couldn’t allow himself to fall behind either!
After all, he was the nemesis of players worldwide.
So, working out was a reminder, a ruse, and a way to lull human players into complacency.
Yi Zheng had long discovered that working out could improve attributes, but one had to change workout methods from time to time, or it would lose its effectiveness. Thus, he had been developing various workout routines. When he ran out of ideas, he had to find new ways after exhausting Qian Tu’s techniques, ultimately exploiting the bodies of various wild monsters to the extreme.
This led to the creation of these novel combat methods…
However, Yi Zheng had never shown these methods in front of players before. This would be his debut; how many methods human players would see depended on their combat power.
Yi Zheng excitedly bit into a carrot: “Come on, let the storm hit harder, heh heh…”
…
At the same time, the human players’ army finally arrived at the First-Tier Sky Canyon.
Walking through the canyon, Iron-Blood occasionally looked up, his face a bit grim, his eyes carrying a hint of worry…
Rustle…
“What was that noise?” someone asked.
“Some stones have fallen.”
“It looks like there’s someone up there; I think I saw a head pop out and then back in,” someone said.
“Don’t talk nonsense. If there were really someone up there, could we have gotten this far?”
Iron-Blood didn’t say anything upon hearing this, but he was indeed feeling a bit tense.
When he finally emerged from the Grand Canyon and saw the bright sunlight, he let out a long sigh of relief and couldn’t help but laugh heartily.
“Iron-Blood, what are you laughing at?” asked a female player beside him.
Iron-Blood turned to look at the Grand Canyon and laughed: “I laugh at Wang Mingchen, Chen Chuanwen, for being too cautious and overestimating those rabbits! Look at this canyon; it’s the perfect natural barrier. If those rabbits were really as smart, wise, and cunning as they say, they would just need to ambush us from above. If they threw stones down as we passed, we’d be dead and injured everywhere!
But what happened?
Nothing at all!
Clearly, those rabbits are just rabbits; they really don’t have any brains!
Hahaha…”
Iron-Blood laughed again. Once his men all entered, the outcome of the battle would be certain.
As he laughed, a sharp cry sounded from above the canyon. Figures appeared above, and then large stones began raining down like a storm.
The players below were terrified and shouted: “It’s an ambush, run!”
Unfortunately, the canyon was narrow, only allowing three or four people to walk side by side. The team fell into chaos, instantly piling up, making it easy for the stones to hit multiple people at once!
With beams of white light rising and screams echoing continuously, panic spread.
Iron-Blood’s face turned dark, and he quickly shouted: “Those in front, run forward! Those at the back, fall back!”
But the canyon was hundreds of meters long, and with players shouting chaotically, Iron-Blood’s voice couldn’t reach far. Those who heard him, mainly those nearby, ran even more desperately and were blocked and crushed to death.
Those at the back realized something was wrong and retreated, only to get blocked and crushed to death…
The scene became incredibly chaotic.
Iron-Blood’s face turned livid as he issued commands through the team channel.
The team channel was the only small-scale, short-distance voice transmission method provided by the system.
Speaking in the team channel could only be heard by team members and could ignore any background noise.
The only drawback was that a team could have no more than five members.
Iron-Blood had anticipated the chaos of the battlefield and the difficulty of giving orders, so he divided his team into three parts, each led by a teammate. Those teammates had other players beside them, who formed more small groups, each led by a few people…
Using this method, they created a relay system for passing orders.
Although this method solved the issue of communicating commands, if one link failed, the whole system would fail.
This was the case now; an error in the middle caused commands to be lost.
Fortunately, the players weren’t foolish. Seeing the ambush, the front team turned back to help, and the rear team retreated promptly. Aside from those in the middle who died, most of the forces weren’t severely impacted.
Players in the middle died quickly, and before long, there were no more screams.
The stone rain also stopped.
“It’s finally over.” Iron-Blood let out a long sigh.
Next to him, his deputy, Yi Ye Qing Chou, said: “Iron-Blood, it seems those rabbits are indeed smart. We can’t let our guard down.”
Iron-Blood’s face turned red. He had been humiliated earlier, and his face still hurt. Yi Ye Qing Chou’s comment was a blow to his pride. He grunted: “You’re overthinking. Those rabbits might have some tricks, but they’re not truly wise.”
Yi Ye Qing Chou curiously asked: “Why do you say that?”
Iron-Blood looked ahead, pointing: “After exiting the First-Tier Sky, we enter a larger canyon with no way out. It’s a death trap! If those rabbits were really smart, they would set up an ambush here, and as we get cut off from behind, they could attack us head-on. Even while we are unsteady, facing them head-on.”
