I explained to the people that were not chosen

"Please don't tire yourself out, Ms. Cheryl. Well, Sebastian will be here, as well as the other servants. So I'm sure everything will be fine."

It wasn't as if it had to be Cheryl and Chita who looked after the fenrirs. However, it seemed like it would be best to choose people who actively wanted to do it.

"As for Aloysius and the others…"

I then explained the various reasons to them as well.

As I had said with Ms. Lyra before, I thought that Aloysius would be more useful to Tilura, as he could help her with work related to the slums.

Gilbert was young, and so he should stay here and work a little longer. Besides, Sebastian had wanted him to stay.

As for Emelia… She got motion sickness quite easily. Though, I felt bad for using that as the reason.

The chewing gum did help to alleviate the problem, but traveling long distances would still be rough. Also, there was a limit to how much gum I could provide.

"You were thinking more deeply about us than we had ever realized. And we are grateful, Mr. Takumi."

"Haha. You exaggerate… But, uh… I hope you'll do your best here?"

"Yes!"

They all nodded with satisfaction now.

The change was likely quick, as they were not desperate to work for me in the first place.

"Though, it is a little unfortunate…"

"It would have been an honor to work with someone who had the Gift and a Silver Fenrir."

"It cannot be helped. But I am sure that Mr. Takumi will hire more servants later."

"Maybe I will be able to ride better by then…"

I had thought that they weren't bothered at all.

But now it seemed like they were looking forward to the next opportunity.

The reason I had not chosen him was not because he was to work here. In fact, he was to come to Range village under slightly different circumstances.

Walter would not be working as a servant, but more of a storyteller.

He had sensed the potential himself at the orphanage, and was enthusiastic to do it.

Besides, telling stories to children would likely be better for his mental health, rather than working as a servant and being around me and Leo.

"Not only that. But I think you will be talking about them a lot."

He would likely mix some historic fact with the fiction. But in general, he should create stories that would help people to not fear the fenrirs.

"Well, if I am telling the stories, then I'm sure people will be happy."

"You're getting carried away now. Perhaps you should learn to be carried by fenrirs first."

"I-I don't see what that has to do with anything."

"You may not be able to make good stories if you're still afraid of them…"

Indeed, if you were still scared of the fenrirs, then that might be reflected within your stories as well.

"Still, for now, I would like Walter to read the books we have here. Until we go to Range village, you can just spend the time as you always have."

"In that case, he will be able to work as a servant while also getting accustomed to being around Leo and the fenrirs."

"Gah…I just want to stay in the library…"

In general, all of the servants I chose would be working here normally until we moved to Range village.

After all, the house was not finished yet.

Walter had at least had his duties reduced, so that he would have time for his hobby…which was reading.

"I don't know how it will be with the fenrirs, but Leo is very popular with the children of the village. So it would be good for you to get along with her."

"Hah… It's likely to upset my thinking, but… I will try."

Walter agreed with a sad look.

Even if he wasn't going to work as a servant, he could not escape being involved with the fenrirs in some ways. So it could not be helped.
