Myth Beyond Heaven

Chapter 2626: Heavenly Court's Turmoil (2)

Yu Huang's face darkened. He knew it was impossible to continue to lie. He glanced at Xifang Shun, whose eyes burned with righteous anger, and then at Ying Xue, whose lips curled into a cruel smile.

He knew he could no longer maintain his facade. He had to act, and he had to act quickly.

"Seize them!" Yu Huang roared, his voice echoing through the hall.

The Heavenly Guards, clad in gleaming armor, surged forward, their weapons drawn, their eyes fixed on Xifang Shun and Ying Xue.

However, before they could reach their targets, a figure materialized in the center of the hall, her form radiating an aura of immense power, her presence silencing the commotion.

It was Chun Yue. Her appearance was as sudden as it was unexpected, her presence commanding the attention of all those present.

Chun Yue's eyes swept over the hall, her gaze lingering on Xifang Shun and Ying Xue.

"If you don't want to die, surrender to my master," she said, her voice cold and resolute.

Xifang Shun's eyes widened in surprise, his gaze fixed on Chun Yue. He could sense the immense power emanating from her, a power that dwarfed even his own.

Ying Xue laughed, her voice echoing through the hall.

"Even though Ren Yuan is the inheritor of the God of Heaven, he's not the God of Heaven himself," she said, her voice laced with mockery. "Why should we pledge our loyalty to him?"

Chun Yue's expression remained unchanged, her eyes fixed on Ying Xue.

Chun Yue's lips curled into a cold smile. "Because if you don't, you will die. It's as simple as that."

The hall fell silent, the weight of Chun Yue's words hanging in the air. Even Xifang Shun seemed momentarily taken aback by her boldness. But Ying Xue was not so easily intimidated.

"You think you can threaten me, little maid?" Ying Xue sneered. "You may serve Ren Yuan, but you are nothing more than a servant. Do you truly believe you can stand against me?"

Chun Yue's expression remained calm, but her eyes burned with a cold, unyielding light. "I do not need to stand against you, Ying Xue. I only need to deliver a message. My master's power is beyond your comprehension. If you continue to defy him, you will regret it."

Ying Xue laughed, a harsh, mocking sound that echoed through the hall. "Ren Yuan's power? What power? He hides behind his servants, too afraid to face his enemies himself. If he is so powerful, why doesn't he come here and prove it?"

Chun Yue's eyes narrowed, her aura flaring with intensity. "You would do well to hold your tongue, Ying Xue."

Before Ying Xue could respond, a sudden ripple in the fabric of space drew everyone's attention. The air in the hall shimmered, and a figure stepped out of the void, his presence instantly commanding the attention of all present. It was Yun Lintian.

The Jade Emperor's eyes widened in shock, his face paling as he recognized the newcomer. Chun Yue, too, seemed momentarily taken aback, her cold composure faltering for the briefest of moments.

"Yun Lintian," Yu Huang muttered, his voice barely above a whisper.

Yun Lintian ignored the Jade Emperor, his gaze sweeping over the assembled gods and immortals. His eyes settled on Ying Xue, Xifang Shun, and Chun Yue.

"It seems I've arrived at an interesting time," he said, his voice calm and steady. Linlin and Qingqing on his shoulders looked at everyone curiously.

Xifang Shun stepped forward, his expression a mixture of awe and respect.

"Yun Lintian," he said, his voice carrying a hint of deference, "I am Xifang Shun, the Western Emperor. I have heard much about your exploits. It is an honor to finally meet you."

Ying Xue, too, approached Yun Lintian, her earlier arrogance replaced by cautious curiosity.

"Yun Lintian," she said, her voice surprisingly polite, "I am Ying Xue, the leader of the Shadow Court. I apologize for any offense I may have caused. I was merely trying to assess your strength."

Yun Lintian nodded, his gaze sweeping over the two. He could sense that they were not his enemies, at least not at this moment. Their auras were clear, devoid of the malice and hostility that he had come to expect from those who opposed him.

"I have no grudge against either of you," Yun Lintian said, his voice calm and steady. "I can see that you are not my enemies."

He turned his attention to Chun Yue, his eyes hardening slightly.

"Chun Yue," he said, his voice carrying a hint of command, "call Ren Yuan out."

Chun Yue's eyes narrowed slightly. She could sense the immense power emanating from Yun Lintian, a power that rivaled even her master's. She knew that it would be unwise to confront him here, in the heart of the Heavenly Court.

"Activate the protective formation," she said to the Jade Emperor.

Yu Huang quickly raised his hand, and a surge of celestial energy erupted from his palm, activating the ancient runes that were etched into the very foundations of the Heavenly Court.

Buzz—

The hall trembled as the protective formation came online, a shimmering barrier of golden light enveloping the entire court. The air crackled with energy, and a sense of impenetrable strength filled the space.

Xifang Shun and Ying Xue were caught off guard by the sudden activation of the formation and were kicked out of the Heavenly Court.

Yu Huang stared at Yun Lintian and said, "You should leave."

Yun Lintian's lips curled into a cold smile when he heard this.

"I heard that the Heavenly Court's protective formation is one of the best in the Primal Chaos," he said, his voice calm and steady. "I want to try whether my sword is enough to destroy it."

CLANG!

Yun Lintian opened his palm, and the Heaven Piercing Sword appeared, its blade gleaming with golden light, its aura radiating immense power that seemed to challenge the very heavens.

The Heavenly Guards turned solemn as they felt the sword intent from the sword.

Chun Yue's heart sank as she saw the sword. She knew that even the Heavenly Court's protective formation would not be able to withstand its power.

"Coincidentally, this sword is named Heaven Piercing," Yun Lintian chuckled.

He raised the sword high and uttered, "Rending Heaven."

The Heaven Piercing Sword erupted with golden light, its aura intensifying to an unimaginable degree. The air crackled with energy, and the very foundations of the Heavenly Court seemed to tremble under the pressure.
