Naruto a Silent Change.

Chapter 3: Awakening!

The forest path stretched endlessly ahead as the two teams quietly advanced toward Konoha. The atmosphere was peaceful, yet within Naruto's heart, there was an unfamiliar weight pressing down on him.

The faint rustling of leaves, the gentle breeze brushing against his skin, and the distant sound of flowing water... everything felt clearer. Too clear.

Naruto's eyes swept across the surroundings unconsciously. He could see the chakra veins hidden within the roots beneath the ground, the faint aura left behind by passing animals, and even the slight shift in Kurenai-sensei's breathing pattern whenever her guard rose.

'This... isn't normal,' Naruto thought, swallowing hard.

As they passed through a narrow village street, Naruto's gaze instinctively landed on a masked merchant leaning against a wooden stall.

From the outside, he appeared like any ordinary traveler, but...

'Why... can I feel his chakra circulating so vividly? He's hiding something...'

Naruto's pupils contracted slightly as he sensed the man's chakra coils tighten for a brief moment before relaxing again.

In that instant, the man's eyes met Naruto's.

A chill ran down Naruto's spine.

Kurenai, walking slightly ahead, seemed to notice the tension in the air and glanced toward the merchant for a brief moment. However, seeing no immediate threat, she continued moving forward.

"Keep your focus on the road," she said calmly.

"Yes, Kurenai-sensei," Hinata softly responded, though her gaze kept drifting toward Naruto.

Naruto lowered his head slightly, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

'Am I... starting to see things others can't? Is this what the Sharingan feels like?'

The thought made him uncomfortable. He wasn't from an elite clan like Sasuke. He was just... Naruto.

Yet, deep within him, something foreign had already begun to awaken.

As they reached the forest outskirts where Team 8 previously scouted, Naruto's footsteps slowed.

His sharp eyes caught the faint chakra marks lingering in the soil, traces of battle that should've faded days ago.

The others walked past without noticing anything, but for Naruto... it was like watching a painted scene slowly unfold before his eyes.

"Oi, Naruto, what's with the creepy look?" Kiba muttered from the side, noticing how Naruto's gaze seemed distant.

"Nothing... I just... thought I saw something," Naruto replied awkwardly, scratching the back of his head.

Kiba scoffed, "You're probably just hungry again, idiot."

Naruto forced a laugh, but deep inside, unease filled him.

From the side, Hinata quietly observed Naruto's subtle changes.

She could feel it.

His chakra...

It was calmer, yet far deeper and denser than before. Almost... terrifying.

'Naruto-kun... what happened to you... back then?'

Her heart tightened with concern.

As the sun began to set, casting golden light through the treetops, the group finally decided to rest near a small riverbank.

Naruto sat on the edge of the water, staring at his reflection.

For a brief moment, his eyes seemed to ripple with a faint hue of purple before fading back to blue.

'This power... I can feel it slowly awakening... but why... why does it feel so... familiar?'

Unbeknownst to Naruto, the Karma mark on his hand faintly glowed for a moment before disappearing once more.

The forest stretched endlessly as the group quietly advanced toward the next town. The evening sun painted the sky in hues of orange and crimson, casting long shadows along the dirt path.

Kakashi had temporarily left the group to report to the village head about the mission's completion, leaving Kurenai in charge. However, the absence of his usual lazy yet sharp presence made the air feel oddly heavier.

Naruto walked silently at the back, his head slightly lowered as his sharp gaze scanned the surroundings without him even realizing it.

The subtle fluctuation of chakra lingering in the earth, the faint heartbeat of a bird hidden within the branches above, and even the suppressed aura of a man hiding behind the old wooden stall as they passed through a quiet village — everything was too vivid for him to ignore.

'This... this isn't normal...'

Kiba yawned lazily, stretching his arms behind his head. "Man, I can't wait to get back and eat some real food. Those rice balls from the old geezer's stall were terrible."

"Your sense of taste is terrible," Shino replied coldly.

"Oi! What did you say, bug freak?"

As Kiba and Shino bickered as usual, Naruto remained lost in his thoughts.

The memory of Haku's final smile... the beauty of that moment as he sacrificed himself for Zabuza...

It replayed in his mind over and over again.

"Na... Naruto-kun..."

A soft, timid voice pulled him from his thoughts.

Naruto glanced to his side, only to find Hinata's pale lavender eyes looking at him with visible worry.

"Are... you okay?" she asked quietly.

Naruto blinked, a little stunned by her concern.

"I... I'm fine," he replied awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "I was just thinking about something."

Hinata lowered her gaze slightly, but her heart felt heavy. She could feel it...

Naruto wasn't the same as before.

There was a strange... depth in his chakra, something even her Byakugan couldn't fully see through.

As they reached the next town, the atmosphere gradually shifted.

This was the town where Team 8's mission to eliminate the bandits who had been terrorizing the nearby villages was still incomplete.

Kurenai stepped forward, her crimson eyes scanning the surroundings.

"We'll handle the bandits from here. You three—" She glanced at Naruto's team. "Your mission was only to escort Tazuna safely. You should return to Konoha and—"

"Wait!" Naruto suddenly stepped forward.

Everyone's eyes turned to him in surprise.

"I... I want to help," Naruto said, his voice firm and unwavering. "I want to get stronger... and this is the perfect chance."

Sasuke, who had been silent the whole journey, also stepped forward, his sharp gaze burning with hidden ambition.

"I'll join too," Sasuke said coldly. "I won't let anyone surpass me... not even you, dobe."

Naruto shot him a glare, but deep down... he understood.

They both had experienced something on that bridge.

The helplessness... the weakness... and the bitter reality of true strength.

They couldn't afford to stay the same anymore.

Kurenai narrowed her eyes slightly, about to refuse, but at that moment, Kakashi suddenly reappeared from the shadows, his signature lazy expression plastered on his face.

"Well... if they're this motivated, wouldn't it be a waste to stop them?" Kakashi said with a chuckle, his single eye curving into a smile.

Kurenai sighed. "You're their sensei. If you take responsibility, I won't stop them."

As the sun slowly dipped below the horizon, the group entered the dimly lit streets of the town.

Naruto's sharp eyes unconsciously scanned the rooftops and alleyways.

The presence of hidden chakra signatures... the faint killing intent buried within the crowd...

He could sense everything.

'This power... it feels like I'm seeing the world differently...'

From the side, Hinata's gaze never left him.

'Naruto-kun... you've always chased after others... but now... you're walking ahead of everyone without realizing it...'

Her heart squeezed painfully.

In her eyes...

Naruto's back was already too far for her to reach.

Unbeknownst to everyone, beneath Naruto's palm, where the skin-coloured Karma mark lay hidden, an invisible power was already beginning to stir.

And somewhere deep within Naruto's soul...

A pair of Rinnegan eyes faintly shimmered in the darkness...

The sky slowly darkened as the group walked through the quiet streets of the misty town. The world felt heavier... colder. Yet, within that stillness, Naruto's heart was unusually calm.

Ever since Haku's death, something inside him had shifted.

He couldn't understand it, but the world around him... felt different.

The air trembled faintly, carrying the flow of chakra from every living being. The flickering of the flames, the movement of the leaves, even the subtle footsteps of villagers — Naruto could feel it all.

It wasn't something he was taught.

It was as if this new vision...

No... this "power" had been lying dormant deep within him, only to awaken after witnessing the beautiful death of a true shinobi like Haku.

"Naruto-kun... are you alright?"

A soft, gentle voice pulled him from his thoughts.

Naruto turned to see Hinata, her pale lavender eyes filled with concern.

He blinked.

For some reason, he could see the faint chakra flow surrounding her body, as if a thin layer of life energy coated her skin. Even the gentle rhythm of her heartbeat...

Naruto could sense it all.

He felt strange.

It wasn't just a simple change in his senses.

It was far beyond that.

This was... the power that only the God of Shinobi once possessed.

The Rinnegan... the ultimate dojutsu that governs life and death itself.

Without even realizing it, Naruto had awakened the same power as the legendary Sage of Six Paths.

As the group reached the outskirts of the town, heading toward the forest where Team 8's mission awaited, Naruto's eyes suddenly narrowed.

From deep within the forest ahead, he felt something...

Something sinister.

Three faint chakra signatures, carefully hidden within the shadows, blended with the forest's natural energy.

"Wait..." Naruto's voice broke the silence.

Everyone turned to him.

Sasuke frowned. "What now, dobe?"

Naruto ignored him. His gaze remained fixed on the distant treeline.

"There are... three people hiding there," Naruto said calmly.

Kiba scoffed, "Tch, what are you talking about? I would've smelled them if that was true."

Shino remained silent, but Hinata activated her Byakugan to check — and her expression instantly changed.

"...He's right," she whispered in shock.

In that moment, Naruto's pupils trembled faintly... a ripple spread within his eyes for a brief second before disappearing.

No one noticed it.

Not even Kakashi, who had left earlier to handle some personal business.

But Naruto felt it.

The Beginning of the Rinnegan's Awakening...

This ancient power, said to have been wielded only by the legendary Sage of Six Paths, possessed six god-like abilities, known as the Six Paths.

At that moment, Naruto didn't fully understand it, but his body had already begun to slowly tap into these abilities:

Deva Path: The ability to control gravity, allowing him to push or pull objects and enemies at will. Asura Path: Enhancing his body with chakra-based weapons and physical augmentations. Human Path: The power to read minds and extract souls from others. Animal Path: The ability to summon powerful creatures from other dimensions. Preta Path: Absorbing any chakra-based attack or jutsu. Naraka Path: Controlling life and death through the King of Hell.

And lastly...

The Seventh Path, known as the Outer Path, which allowed the user to control life and resurrect the dead.

But right now...

Naruto could only feel a fragment of this power, awakening slowly within him.

His vision expanded, and he could now see the flow of chakra in living beings. His senses sharpened, becoming more aware of danger before it even happened.Even the slight disturbance in the earth beneath his feet, Naruto could feel it all.

'What... is happening to me?'

Naruto clenched his fists.

Shino adjusted his glasses. "If Naruto sensed it before Hinata's Byakugan... that's not normal."

Hinata glanced at Naruto with admiration.

'Naruto-kun... is truly changing.'

As the group cautiously advanced toward the forest, Naruto's steps felt lighter... faster.

Unknowingly, he was already tapping into the Deva Path, subtly controlling the gravity around his body, allowing him to move more swiftly and silently.

Kiba and Akamaru noticed this strange shift.

"Oi... why does that idiot feel more... dangerous than usual?" Kiba muttered.

Naruto remained silent.

He didn't know what this power was...

But for the first time in his life...

He felt like he understood the world around him.

The Karma Seal on his hands faded away, but deep within his soul, the Rinnegan's true power slowly began to surface.

And no one...

Not even Kakashi...

Realized what had just been awakened within Naruto.
