Naruto: Create All That Defy Logic

Chapter 12: The Villagers’ Hostility Toward The Clan

-----

-----

A few months ago, after Kira made his first meal for himself, Mikoto stopped coming home to cook for him whenever things got bad at the hospital.

"Yep!"

Mikoto walked over, Gently ruffling Kira's hair with a smile. "The war's calmed down a bit lately. The big clashes between the major ninja villages have lessened, so there are fewer injured people. The hospital is a lot less busy now."

"Oh? That's good news!"

Kira nodded his head.

It seemed like the Second Great Ninja War was basically over.

---

For the next few years, the major ninja villages would likely shift into a phase of minor skirmishes and covert operations, quietly stockpiling strength and resources. Once the timing was right, the next Great Ninja War would inevitably begin.

After all, the Second War hadn't truly resolved anything.

To be honest, none of the major villages were particularly satisfied with the current outcome—except for Konoha.

With a leader like the Third Hokage, a known advocate for peace, Konoha had always tried to coexist harmoniously with the other villages.

But unfortunately, the other villages weren't on the same side.

They all coveted Konoha's and the Land of Fire's abundant resources.

Without the First and Second Hokage around, Konoha seemed significantly weaker in the eyes of the other villages—a ripe piece of meat everyone wanted to sink their teeth into.

Add to that the unresolved conflicts between the villages, and it was only a matter of time before a Third Great Ninja War broke out.

"Exactly!"

Uchiha Mika nodded with a smile. "Less war means fewer casualties. After seeing so much death in the ninja hospital, I truly hope for a world of peace."

"Alright, enough talking! I'll make lunch for everyone! You both can keep on… chatting." She giggled mischievously as she headed into the house.

Left behind, Kira and Mikoto exchanged helpless glances.

Soon, it was lunchtime.

"Kira! Mikoto! Lunch is ready!" Mika said.

"Coming!"

"Oh, wow! Looks like we made it back just in time for lunch!"

Just as the food was being served, Uchiha Ken returned home with Uchiha Hiro. Seeing the delicious spread on the table, they both couldn't help but smile.

Mika rolled her eyes at her husband. "I knew you'd be back, so I made extra for you. Otherwise… hmph!"

"Let's eat!"

The family quickly started their meal, chatting about their day in between bites.

"Kira! Your suggestion worked wonders. The police force has been using your method lately, and it's really improved our reputation with the villagers. Everyone's pretty happy!"

During the meal, Uchiha Ken brought up the police force.

A few months earlier, Ken had shared his frustration about the villagers' hostility toward the police force and sought advice from his sharp-witted son, Kira.

Ken knew his son was incredibly smart—there wasn't a problem, Kira couldn't solve.

As expected, Kira had come up with a solution. The main idea was simple: the Uchiha members of the police force needed to drop their unnecessary pride and start mingling with the villagers.

Stop walking around with sour faces, acting all superior.

Of course, while the advice sounded straightforward, it was a challenge for the Uchiha clan to implement.

After all, old habits die hard, and the Uchiha's arrogance was practically engraved in their DNA.

Even with Ken's strength and status as deputy captain of the police force, it had taken months of effort to see even a slight improvement.

Completely overturning the police force's negative image would take a lot more work.

"As long as it's working," Kira said casually, nodding. Then he added, "But honestly, it's going to be tough to fully change the villagers' prejudices and hostility toward the Uchiha clan anytime soon."

"First off, the police force's job is a thankless one. Whether we do well or not, it's a losing battle;"

"Second, people like Danzo and the higher-ups in Konoha aren't going to sit back and let the Uchiha improve their reputation among the villagers."

Everyone at the table frowned upon hearing this.

"Why?"

Uchiha Hiro couldn't help but ask, "Okay, maybe some people don't care, but I always thought the Third Hokage was a good guy. Every time we ran into him during mission assignments, he was really kind to me."

Kira gave his older brother an exasperated look. "Bro, you seriously need to use your head or something—boost that IQ of yours!"

"Don't let his nice-guy act fool you."

"You're making us all look bad with that level of gullibility."

"..."

"So, you're basically calling me stupid, right?" Hiro said, glaring at his little brother.

If it weren't for the fear of his parents ganging up on him—or the fact that he still needed Kira's guidance in training—Hiro would've loved to teach this brat a lesson and reassert his authority as the older sibling.

"What else?"

Kira shrugged, not even trying to hide his disdain. "The Third Hokage took over as leader in a crisis, managed to consolidate power despite opposition from the major clans, and you think he's just a kind old man? Bro, your naivety is honestly touching."

"..."

Okay, Hiro had to admit—thinking about it that way, he'd been pretty naive.

Sure, the Third wasn't purely evil, but he definitely wasn't some harmless, kindhearted guy either.

Danzo, on the other hand? That guy was pure evil—selfish, ruthless, and untrustworthy.

At this point, Ken frowned and asked, "So you're saying Danzo and the Third will sabotage our efforts to improve our reputation? What do we do about it?"

"Nothing."

Kira shrugged again. "Unless you replace those higher-ups—or, you know, get rid of them—and drop the police force altogether, there's no fixing this at the root."

The Uchiha's bad reputation in Konoha wasn't just their own fault.

Back in the Warring States period, the Uchiha clan had far better relationships with other clans.

But in Konoha, they had no friends. No allies.

In the old days, the Uchiha had plenty of affiliated and allied clans.

"You really shouldn't say stuff like that."

Mikoto lightly tapped Kira on the head with her chopsticks. "If someone overhears, it'll bring disaster to our family—and the whole clan!"

"Yes, yes!"

Kira raised his hands in surrender. "That's why I only said it here, at home, with our barrier and mental probes making sure no one's listening."

A year ago, after realizing that the Third Hokage loved using his telescope jutsu to spy on the village, Kira had convinced his parents to set up an anti-surveillance barrier at home.

Combined with their family's powerful spiritual techniques, they were pretty much untouchable.
