Naruto: Destroy the Sarutobi Clan At the Beginning

Hearing Kirito's words, Kakashi furrowed his brows, his mind racing. After a moment of thought, he asked, "So the decision to start the Chunin Exams ahead of schedule… is it because Sunagakure is colluding with Orochimaru's Sound Ninja, and Orochimaru is worried that Lord Jiraiya and Lady Tsunade will return to Konoha and hinder their actions? Or, as you suggested, does Orochimaru want to give the Third Hokage a dignified death before Lady Tsunade arrives? Is that why the Chunin Exams were pushed forward?"

"You've guessed half of it right," Kirito chuckled softly.

Kakashi's confusion deepened as Kirito explained further. "Kakashi, I'm sure you're aware of the underlying tension between Sunagakure and Konoha. Ever since the alliance was formed, the Daimyo of the Wind Country has favored Konoha with commissions, leading to Sunagakure's economic decline. This forced them to reduce their military strength."

"It got so dire that the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, had to sell his most valuable resource, the Gold Sand, just to keep the village afloat. Faced with this desperation, he allied with Orochimaru to attack Konoha and safeguard Sunagakure."

Kirito's tone turned mocking. "But Rasa and Sarutobi Hiruzen are cut from the same cloth—masters of internal power struggles but hopelessly naïve when it comes to external affairs. Rasa foolishly trusted Orochimaru and went to the border of the Land of Fire to meet him, bringing only a small contingent of men. Naturally, he didn't survive the encounter."

"What remains of Sunagakure's leadership is now under Orochimaru's control. Using special ninjutsu, he's impersonating Rasa and issuing commands as the Fourth Kazekage."

"Even though Orochimaru betrayed Konoha, he's not about to let Sunagakure profit from this. His aim isn't to destroy the windmill that is Konoha—it's to make it turn again after being stalled by Sarutobi Hiruzen."

"Instead of Sunagakure initiating the request to start the Chunin Exams early, it was Orochimaru pulling the strings. And with Jiraiya and Tsunade already on their way back to Konoha, Orochimaru timed everything to coincide with their return."

"This serves multiple purposes: granting his teacher, Sarutobi Hiruzen, a hero's death; demonstrating his power to Sasuke to facilitate future plans; and creating the conditions for Konoha's renewal. Kill three birds with one stone. Orochimaru truly lives up to his reputation."

Kirito's smirk grew darker. "And Jiraiya? He knows all this. He won't interfere before Orochimaru and the Third Hokage resolve their business. To him, this isn't just a crisis—it's a farce staged by Sarutobi Hiruzen and Orochimaru."

"The cost of this farce, however, will be immense. Much of Konoha will be destroyed, and countless lives—both from Konoha and Sunagakure—will be lost."

Kirito's voice dropped to a whisper, filled with scorn. "Sarutobi Hiruzen dragged Konoha into this chaos not to protect it, but to orchestrate a dramatic end to his life. To him, the lives of Konoha's ninjas are expendable, mere props in his quest for a heroic legacy."

The room fell into an eerie silence. Kakashi, Might Guy, Morino Ibiki, and Gekko Hayate all turned pale, struggling to process what they had just heard.

If what Kirito said was true, then why were the ninjas of Konoha being sent to fight tomorrow? Was their purpose simply to serve as collateral damage in the master-disciple spectacle of Sarutobi Hiruzen and Orochimaru?

After a long pause, Kakashi broke the silence, his voice heavy with unease. "You claim Sarutobi Hiruzen seeks a glorious end, and Orochimaru aims to turn Konoha's windmill while achieving his goals. But what about you? What is your purpose?"

Kirito's faint smile returned. "Perhaps I'm just doing this for fun. Watching that old man from the Third Hokage get so angry that his teeth itch brings me immense satisfaction."

"Fun?" Kakashi's frown deepened. "Then why come here to tell us all this? Someone like you wouldn't do something so altruistic."

Kirito chuckled. "There are no eternal enemies, only eternal interests. Didn't I already say I'm here to help you? I can't stand Sarutobi Hiruzen and don't want him to die so easily. And you—you're ninjas who truly love Konoha and don't want it destroyed. So, cooperating with you serves my purpose. Is that reason enough?"

In truth, Kirito had additional motivations he chose not to reveal. One was a request from Yuhi Kurenai after a night spent indulging her pleas. The other was personal—he didn't want his wife Tsunade to inherit a Konoha in shambles, especially since their daughter, Chinatsu, would live there in the future.

Kakashi took a deep breath. "How do we cooperate?"

Might Guy protested, "Kakashi, do you really believe what this guy is saying? He's—"

"Gai, let's hear him out first," Kakashi interrupted. "Besides, it's clear he didn't come here just to chat."

Kirito nodded approvingly. "It's refreshing to talk to someone smart. I'll be straightforward. I can provide you with concrete evidence that Rasa, the Fourth Kazekage, is dead. With this, you can avoid unnecessary conflict with Sunagakure during tomorrow's Chunin Exams."

"Without Rasa, Sunagakure poses no real threat to Konoha. To protect itself, the village will likely restore its alliance with Konoha."

Kakashi narrowed his eyes. "What do you need from us in return?"

"Nothing at all." Kirito shrugged. "I just want to see Sarutobi Hiruzen die like the clown he is in the hands of Orochimaru. That's all."

Kirito formed a seal with his hand, his body slowly dissolving into cherry blossom petals. Before disappearing entirely, he added, "I'll be at the Chunin Exams tomorrow to watch the so-called strongest Hokage's final performance. I'll also give you the proof of Rasa's death then. But if any of you think about tipping off that old man, feel free to proceed. Just be prepared to face the full wrath of Sunagakure."

With those words, Kirito vanished from the hospital, leaving Kakashi and the others in deep contemplation.
