Kirito continued, "I might as well have wiped out the entire Sarutobi and Shimura families to avenge all those who died in the Nine-Tails Rebellion. It would have been a fitting way to honor their memory."
"What I didn't expect this time was that Hiruzen Sarutobi would sit idly by as his own disciples orchestrated this farce of Konoha's collapse—all so he could leave behind a favorable reputation. How pathetic."
Pointing directly at Hiruzen, Kirito declared, "Take a good look at this man—your Third Hokage. Witness the truth of who this so-called great leader really is."
After hearing Kirito's words, Hashirama Senju sighed heavily, his disappointment palpable as he turned to Hiruzen. "Hiruzen, is this all true?"
"Lord First, please listen to me," Hiruzen pleaded. A trace of guilt flickered in his eyes as he scrambled for words. But no matter how he tried to refute the accusations, his explanations felt hollow and powerless.
While Kirito's claim that Danzo released the Nine-Tails wasn't true, the allegations of corruption within the Sarutobi family held undeniable weight.
Seeing Hiruzen's guilty expression, Hashirama's disappointment deepened. Turning to Tobirama, he sighed again, "Tobirama, it seems you chose poorly."
"Brother, this kid is a traitor. Don't believe him," Tobirama snapped. Though his faith in Hiruzen wavered, he felt compelled to defend the Hokage. After all, Hiruzen remained a symbol of Konoha, one Tobirama felt obligated to protect.
"How do you explain Danzo, then?" Hashirama countered sternly. "The Sharingan on his arm and the implantation of my cells—those can't be fake. Tobirama, how many times have I told you not to underestimate the Uchiha?"
"Now's not the time to discuss that, brother." Tobirama cut him off, glaring at Kirito. His eyes burned with an intense killing intent. "Kid, I don't care what your reasons are. You were a Konoha ninja, but you defected. After all this talk, are you trying to justify your betrayal?"
"No, I'm not here to justify myself. I just want the truth to come to light," Kirito replied with a faint smile. Holding his Zanpakutō, Kyoka Suigetsu, in his hand, he whispered, "Shatter, Kyoka Suigetsu."
Instantly, the illusions clouding Hiruzen Sarutobi's, Hashirama's, and Tobirama's senses shattered like glass. Unnoticed by them until now, the Four Purple Flame Formation was surrounded by a dense crowd of Konoha villagers and shinobi.
Beyond the barrier, throngs of civilians who had come to watch the Chunin Exam filled the area.
Almost everyone in the crowd clutched photographs of Hiruzen Sarutobi and Shimura Danzo's infamous party. Those who had lost loved ones during the Nine-Tails Rebellion were particularly enraged. Some couldn't contain their fury and shouted, "Lord First! Lord Second! Kill that demon Hiruzen Sarutobi! Avenge our families! Don't let that Shimura Danzo escape judgment either!"
As the first cries erupted, others joined in.
Within moments, the crowd roared with curses and demands for justice.
The collective outrage shook Hiruzen Sarutobi to his core. The Hokage, who once stood revered by his people, now found himself reviled. His world crumbled under their accusations.
Staggering back, his legs threatened to give out. His once-proud reputation was in tatters.
"Are these the same villagers who once revered me?" Hiruzen muttered, his voice trembling. "How did I become a demon in their eyes?"
Satisfied, Kirito turned to Orochimaru. "Alright, Lord Orochimaru. I've said all I needed to. It's time for your legendary duel. Let's get this 'peak battle' underway."
Orochimaru, oblivious to the angry mob outside the barrier, licked his lips with his serpent-like tongue and sneered. "Kirito-kun, you truly have a twisted sense of humor. This old man is already broken, yet you couldn't resist tearing him down further. Very well, let's begin."
Orochimaru drew two kunai inscribed with sealing talismans and drove them into the heads of the reanimated First and Second Hokage, extinguishing their consciousness.
Kirito glanced at him with amusement. "Then I'll take my leave."
Summoning a crow, Kirito activated Kyoka Suigetsu again, briefly entrancing everyone present before disappearing in a swirl of feathers.
"Stop right there!" Hiruzen Sarutobi roared, his composure completely shattered. No longer caring about appearances, he formed a series of hand seals and shouted, "Dead Demon Consuming Seal!"
The spectral figure of the Shinigami appeared behind him, its eerie form invisible to all but the caster and the target.
"Seal!" Hiruzen bellowed, and the Shinigami's spectral claws burst through his chest, stretching out toward Kirito.
The sharp talons caught Kirito mid-air, his eyes widening in apparent shock as his body froze. Moments later, he collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
For a moment, silence reigned.
Pakura, standing among the crowd, frowned slightly but remained composed. "So, this is the mutual destruction technique Master Kirito mentioned? Interesting."
Meanwhile, Hiruzen Sarutobi, triumphant at last, laughed maniacally. "Dead! That damned traitor is finally dead—killed by my own hands!"
Orochimaru, observing the scene, felt unease creep into his heart. "What just happened? Did the Third really kill Kirito with that mysterious technique? No... this must be another one of Kirito-kun's illusions."
"Don't fool yourself, Orochimaru!" Hiruzen snapped, still gloating. "No matter how powerful his illusions are, his soul has been sealed by me. He's gone!"
But Orochimaru's unease only deepened. "A jutsu that seals the soul... What kind of monstrosity was that?"
