Inoiki's voice was calm but firm as he laid out the plan. "Our priority should be to secure the safety of the fifty ninjas who might be from Konoha. With your current state, it shouldn't be too difficult for you to handle the Iwa Chunin and Genin, right?"
He had to confirm. Kakashi, after all, was still recovering from his previous injury, and Inoiki didn't want to overestimate his capabilities. Kakashi's visible eye crinkled slightly, a hint of amusement in his expression despite the gravity of the situation.
"I can keep the Iwa Chunin and Genin under control," Kakashi assured him. "And if there are Konoha ninjas captured, as you said, then freeing them first would be ideal. They can help us fight and share the load."
Inoiki nodded, his mind already aligning with Kakashi's reasoning. "Yes, you're right. I was thinking the same. Let's do this—we'll free the Konoha ninjas first."
Without wasting another moment, Inoiki reached out and gripped Kakashi's shoulder. "Hold tight," he said, his voice low but steady.
Before Kakashi could respond, the ground beneath them seemed to fall away as they began to float upward. The night air rushed past them, cool and sharp, as they ascended into the sky. Below, the base came into view, illuminated by the flickering glow of fire lamps scattered throughout the camp. The scene was eerily picturesque, the light casting long shadows across the ground.
Inoiki guided their descent with precision, flying directly above the area where the fifty captured ninjas were being held. With a sudden burst of speed, they plummeted toward the ground, landing in the middle of the camp with a force that sent a shockwave through the area. Dust and debris scattered in all directions as their feet touched the ground.
The Iwa ninjas guarding the captives were immediately alert, their heads snapping toward the sudden intrusion. When they caught sight of Inoiki and Kakashi's Konoha headbands, their expressions shifted from surprise to alarm.
One of the guards, a Chunin by the looks of him, stepped forward, his voice rising in a shout. "Konoha ninjas! Ene—"
His words were cut short as a kunai whistled through the air, its trajectory deadly accurate. The blade struck the guard's throat, silencing him mid-sentence. His eyes widened in shock as he clutched at the wound, blood spilling between his fingers. A moment later, his body crumpled to the ground, lifeless.
The camp erupted into chaos. Shouts filled the air as the remaining Iwa ninjas scrambled to respond, drawing weapons and forming defensive stances.
Inoiki turned to Kakashi, his voice calm but firm. "You go and free those Konoha ninjas. I'll handle these people."
Kakashi gave a brief nod, his visible eye narrowing with focus. Without another word, he darted toward the building where the captives were being held, his movements swift and silent. As soon as Kakashi disappeared inside, Inoiki's attention shifted back to the remaining Iwa ninjas.
The three guards who had been standing nearby barely had time to react. Inoiki's eyes glinted with a sharp intensity as he raised his hand slightly, his fingers twitching almost imperceptibly. The kunai that had been embedded in the ground moments earlier suddenly jerked free, hovering in the air for a split second before shooting forward with deadly precision. The Iwa ninjas collapsed one by one, their bodies hitting the ground with dull thuds. Inoiki's 'Psychokinesis' made the act seem almost effortless, the kunai moving as if they had a mind of their own.
By now, the commotion had drawn the attention of the other Iwa ninjas stationed around the base. They came rushing toward the scene, their footsteps pounding against the earth. When they arrived, they were met with a chilling sight: more than five of their comrades lay lifeless on the ground, and Inoiki stood calmly in the midst of it all, his expression unreadable.
Among the newcomers was an Iwa Jonin, his sharp eyes scanning the scene with a mix of anger and caution. He didn't waste time. "Attack!" he barked, his voice cutting through the tension. He wasn't about to give Inoiki another chance to strike.
The Jonin himself led the charge, his hands moving rapidly through a series of hand signs. "Earth Release: Fist Rock Technique!" he shouted.
But Inoiki was faster. With a fluid motion, he sidestepped the attack, the rock fist grazing past him harmlessly. His movements were almost casual, as if he had anticipated the attack long before it came.
As soon as he dodged, Inoiki reached into his pouch and pulled out a scroll. With a flick of his wrist, he tossed it into the air. The scroll unfurled mid-flight, and a series of small explosions followed, releasing clouds of white smoke that momentarily obscured the area. When the smoke cleared, a cascade of weapons—shuriken, kunai, and short swords—rained down from the sky.
Most of the weapons clattered to the ground, but around ten of them remained suspended in the air, enveloped in a faint sky-blue glow. Inoiki's 'Psychokinesis' was at work again, the weapons hovering ominously as if waiting for his command.
The Iwa ninjas hesitated, their eyes darting between the floating weapons and Inoiki's calm demeanour. The Jonin, however, wasn't about to back down. "Don't just stand there!" he roared. "Take him down!"
But Inoiki was already moving. With a subtle gesture, the floating weapons shot forward, each one finding its mark with unerring accuracy. The Iwa ninjas scrambled to defend themselves, but it was no use. Inoiki's control was absolute, his focus unshakable.
As the last of the attackers fell, Inoiki stood amidst the chaos, his breathing steady and his expression unchanged. The night was far from over, but for now, he had bought Kakashi the time he needed to free the captives. And when the time came, they would face whatever came next—together.
