Naruto: Reborn as Uchiha Obito

"Did it begin?"

"Yes, Madara-sama."

Glancing at Yugao Uzuki, who couldn't move because of his binding technique, Obito asked White Zetsu directly:

"How's it going?"

"They specially brought the formation force over first, outside the barrier arranged by Konoha, and then quietly arranged another layer of formation."

"Formation… huh. Pretty smart. No wonder there hasn't been any alarm till now."

Obito nodded, then continued asking.

"And then?"

"They quietly took out the patrol shinobi, broke the barrier without alerting anyone, launched a surprise attack, and are currently engaged in battle."

"It seems there really are some capable people in the Great Ninja Villages. I underestimated them before."

"What about the Fourth Hokage? Can't he just grab his wife and kid and teleport out with Flying Thunder God?"

He immediately sensed a massive chakra signature... fierce, boiling with hatred. Pure rage.

That was the Nine-Tails, no doubt.

Nearby, there were two other chakra signatures, slightly weaker than the Nine-Tails but still massive. A few mid-tier ones. The rest? Complete fodder.

All these chakra auras clashed together, colliding in bursts just beyond Konoha's outer perimeter.

"Battle's getting real…"

But just as Obito was analyzing the flow, he noticed something.

That violent chakra... the Nine-Tails suddenly separated from the chaos.

And in an instant, the two other strong chakra signatures, plus a weak one, vanished from the outer battle zone and

Boom.

They reappeared inside Konoha.

Just like that.

"The Nine-Tails broke free," Obito said.

"Nani?!" White Zetsu blurted out, shocked.

Unexpectedly, the Nine-Tails still broke free. Obito sighed silently.

How the Nine-Tails broke out of the seal… he could probably imagine.

After the human Jinchūriki gives birth, the first thing to do should be repairing the seal immediately.

In the anime, Minato was tricked by Uchiha Obito to use his newborn son as a distraction, dragging him away just long enough to prevent him from fixing the seal leading to the Nine-Tails bursting out.

Today's situation was roughly the same, only the actors had changed.

Konoha Village still couldn't escape this catastrophe.

Because, in his perception, the huge and violent chakra was already charging straight toward Konoha Village.

It seems that after being locked up for so long, the Nine-Tails had built up quite a bit of resentment. Guess it's time for some revenge.

And… should he say it? He expected this from the Fourth Hokage, Minato.

"The Nine-Tails is loose. It's making too much noise. The Yellow Flash got away again. Konoha will react any second. We're out... we can't afford to stay."

Without another word, the Fourth Raikage turned around and took off.

Not far behind, Han saw this and didn't waste time either. He retreated with the only two remaining Iwagakure shinobi.

Back with Obito, after sensing the Nine-Tails breaking free, he turned back to Yugao Uzuki.

"You… what are you going to do to me?!"

Yugao Uzuki's eyes locked onto him, her voice shaking.

"Oh, relax. I'm taking you to a show."

Obito grinned, grabbed her by the back of her collar like a kitten, and vanished in a blink.

When they reappeared, they were on the top of a massive tree... remote, tall enough to see most of the village.

"Put me down! And what are we doing here?!"

Even though she couldn't move, Yugao Uzuki was clearly pissed. Being carried like luggage by some masked pervert was definitely not on her evening plans.

"Heh, you'll find out in a moment."

Obito casually plopped her down on a wide branch and turned his gaze forward.

"ROAR!!"

A thunderous roar echoed from a distance.

"…What was that?"

Yugao Uzuki followed the sound and froze.

She saw it: a massive fox charging toward Konoha. With a deafening crash, the Nine-Tails smashed through the village wall like paper, rampaging directly into the heart of the Leaf.

"Nine-Tails…"

"THE NINE-TAILS?! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!"

She screamed, her face pale with shock.

"Wow~ That's one hell of a scene."

Wherever the Nine-Tails went, trees, stone, dirt, even people were flying. Obito's eyes lit up like a kid at the movies.

"This is basically a live-action monster flick."

But beside him, Yugao Uzuki was trembling, her eyes filled with horror.

"How… how could this be…"

Then she turned to Obito, her voice rising.

"It's you, isn't it?! This is all your doing!!"

"Hey hey, calm down, little girl. Don't go throwing accusations like that."

Obito raised his hands. "I've been with you since this evening, haven't I? When would I even have time?"

"Right… Wait, no...how do you even know—"

She suddenly paused, her eyes narrowing.

"Madara… That white weird thing called you 'Madara-sama'… and you have a Sharingan…"

"You're…"

Her voice cracked as she took in the scarlet glow in his eye.

"…Madara Uchiha?!!!"
