Under the faint moonlight. 

Senju Nawaki, who had forced the Iwa ninja troops to retreat, lowered his eyes slightly, glancing at the nearby Konoha forces as though pondering how to open a conversation. 

After all, it had been too many years since he left Konoha. 

While considering his thoughts, Nawaki walked slowly toward the Konoha shinobi, surrounded by deep fissures and shattered giant trees. 

Before he could speak, a trembling voice came from the group ahead. 

"Who... Who are you? Why did you help us?" 

Captain Daiku looked at the approaching Nawaki, his tone complex. 

The surrounding Konoha ninja also looked at him expectantly, eager to know his identity. 

Hearing this, Nawaki paused slightly, his brown eyes flickering as he contemplated. After a moment of silence, he finally raised his head, his expression calm. 

"I am Senju Nawaki." 

As his words fell, the Konoha forces, including Captain Daiku, were momentarily stunned before exclaiming in disbelief. 

"A descendant of the First Hokage's family! No wonder..." someone said, astonished. 

"If I remember correctly, Lady Tsunade had a younger brother named Nawaki, didn't she? Could it be him?" 

After pondering for a moment, someone suddenly brightened with realization and exclaimed. 

However, another raised doubts. 

"But didn't Lady Tsunade's brother die? Could this be a mistake?" 

As he listened to their murmurs, Nawaki glanced at them calmly and spoke softly. 

"Tsunade is indeed my sister, and I did not die." 

Captain Daiku raised his hand lightly, signaling the other ninja to quiet down. Turning to Nawaki, he spoke with a mix of joy and respect. 

"Regardless of the circumstances, thank you, Lord Nawaki, for saving us. Konoha is currently under attack by Iwa and Suna forces. Please, lend us your strength to aid the village." 

With that, he deeply bowed to Nawaki. 

The Konoha forces had witnessed Nawaki's extraordinary power earlier. Though they didn't fully grasp the First Hokage's legendary might, Nawaki, a wielder of Wood Release, was undoubtedly a top-tier warrior in their eyes. 

If he joined the war, it would undoubtedly turn the tide for Konoha, which was currently at a disadvantage. 

The Konoha shinobi behind Daiku all looked at Nawaki with anticipation, awaiting his response. 

However, Nawaki stood in silence for a long moment, offering no reply. 

This unnerved Daiku and the others, who began to sense something amiss. 

At that moment— 

Clack, clack, clack. 

The sound of heavy footsteps echoed. 

Under the night sky, from the broken and desolate battlefield ahead, two figures emerged from the dark forest, one tall and one short. They wore black-and-white robes identical to Nawaki's. 

"Nawaki, according to Lord Aizen's orders, weren't you supposed to deal with these people? From the looks of it, they're hoping to rely on you for help, aren't they?" 

Kakuzu stood in the distance, his green eyes coldly sweeping over the Konoha forces as he spoke in a hoarse voice. 

Beside him, Ulquiorra remained expressionless but also spoke. 

"Eliminate everyone here. Lord Aizen has given the order." 

His dark green eyes swept lightly over the Konoha shinobi as he continued. 

"These people are merely obstacles to the new world's arrival." 

In the distance, upon hearing their words, Captain Daiku and the Konoha forces felt chills down their spines. They turned in fear to Nawaki, who remained silent, and stammered. 

"Lord... Lord Nawaki, are you saying you're with Aizen? Are you part of Hueco Mundo?" 

Nawaki kept his gaze lowered, silent and unresponsive. 

The Konoha forces collectively drew a cold breath. 

They had already received intelligence that the former Fourth Mizukage, Sosuke Aizen, now the leader of Hueco Mundo, had joined forces with Iwa and Suna to attack Konoha. 

To their dismay, Hueco Mundo's involvement in this Iwa raid was confirmed. 

Even more shocking was that Senju Nawaki, who they had hoped would save Konoha, turned out to be a member of Hueco Mundo! 

Heavens, they had just witnessed the towering destructive beam earlier! If their guesses were correct, it must have been released by one of those two individuals. 

For anyone to speak so casually to Nawaki, whose strength they had witnessed, it was clear that these individuals were no ordinary foes. 

As despair washed over the Konoha shinobi, Nawaki slowly raised his head, his brown eyes resolute as he stared down Kakuzu and Ulquiorra. 

"I will not allow you to harm these people." 

As Nawaki's words fell, the battlefield fell into silence. 

The Konoha forces looked at him in astonishment! 

After the revelation of Nawaki's allegiance to Hueco Mundo, it felt as if they had fallen from heaven to hell. But hearing his declaration now felt like escaping hell back to heaven. 

In the distance, Kakuzu and Ulquiorra's faces remained unreadable. 

After a long pause, Kakuzu's eyes narrowed darkly as he spoke. 

"So, you intend to defy Lord Aizen's orders, Senju Nawaki?" 

Nawaki's face remained steady, his silence unbroken. 

Ulquiorra studied Nawaki briefly before speaking calmly. 

"Senju Nawaki, you understand the price of defying Lord Aizen's orders. Even if you protect these people, it's a meaningless act. Hueco Mundo has already intervened. Do you really think Konoha can survive?" 

Ulquiorra's words weighed heavily on the Konoha shinobi, suffocating them with despair. 

For Konoha to be dismissed so easily, like an insect underfoot, spoke to the confidence borne of overwhelming power. 

Only one explanation existed: Hueco Mundo indeed had the strength to achieve such devastation. 

Despite Ulquiorra's words, Nawaki stood silently before the Konoha shinobi, unwilling to retreat. 

Ulquiorra squinted slightly and spoke calmly. 

"Kakuzu, go. Deal with the one who dares defy Lord Aizen." 

Hearing this, Kakuzu stepped forward, his expression cold as he glanced at Nawaki. 

"As your former comrade, I'll be the one to end you." 

He cast a mocking look at the Konoha shinobi behind Nawaki, his hoarse voice dripping with scorn. 

"Honestly, you've made a foolish choice."
