Naruto The Thunder Calamity

Chapter 326: Chapter 326: Are You Trying to Be a Poet?

"Ah… finally, we're out…"

On an unknown road in the Land of Fire, Tsunade clung to Raijin's arm and let out a long sigh of relief.

"I never noticed you were this eager to leave before."

Raijin glanced at Tsunade with a playful smile.

"You were always so busy. How could I trouble you just because of what I wanted?"

Tsunade clung to his arm, sounding a little annoyed.

"Besides, back then, you couldn't just leave Konohagakure either."

She continued, adding that only now had the village finally stabilized completely.

"There aren't as many things to worry about now."

Raijin chuckled and said to Tsunade,

"Yeah, we can finally relax a bit."

Tsunade nodded and walked forward aimlessly.

"But suddenly coming out like this… I really don't know what to do."

As they walked, Tsunade spoke to Raijin.

"Hmm… I actually know a place. It's pretty interesting."

Raijin raised an eyebrow and said to Tsunade.

"Where?"

Tsunade immediately became interested and asked Raijin.

"Let's go."

Saying that, Raijin took Tsunade's hand. The next moment, they appeared in the Land of Wind.

"This place is…"

Tsunade blinked in confusion, looking at the ruins in front of her before turning to Raijin.

"I found a powerful force here before."

Raijin held Tsunade's hand and led her into the ruins.

"So…"

Tsunade followed Raijin into the ruins while asking,

"This place used to be called Roran. Before Minato started working in the Hokage's office, he once carried out a mission here. There's also a seal he left behind."

As they walked, Raijin explained to Tsunade.

"So… something happened here?"

Tsunade paused for a moment, then looked at Raijin with a hint of frustration.

I thought we were going somewhere fun, but you actually brought me on a mission…

"What mission? I just think this power could be useful."

Raijin chuckled and said to Tsunade.

Before long, a seal appeared in front of them.

"This really is an enormous power."

Even though it was sealed, traces of energy were still leaking out. Tsunade slowly nodded as she observed the Dragon Vein.

"Yeah, but I wonder if the Sharingan can absorb it."

Raijin smiled, took two steps forward, and extended his right hand. A mysterious force emerged, and bits of purple energy began to gather in his palm.

After a while, a pure purple energy sphere formed in his hand.

This wasn't some kind of gravitational technique, just a simple absorption process.

The principle was somewhat similar to absorbing natural energy.

The purple energy sphere was instantly absorbed by Raijin.

Closing his eyes, Raijin carefully analyzed the nature of this power.

It was a unique energy—one that seemed to have an effect on time.

It was a strange feeling. With just a thought, Raijin tried to influence time.

But as the energy was used up, he still wasn't able to go back in time.

So…

If I want to travel back in time, I need to consume this energy? Interesting.

Moreover, after entering his body, this energy didn't merge with his natural energy.

Instead, it quietly settled beside his natural energy, waiting to be used.

With a wave of his hand, the seal on the Dragon Vein vanished.

In the next moment, a massive purple beam of light shot into the sky.

But just as it was about to break through the ruins, it seemed to hit an invisible barrier and stopped in place.

With a press of his other hand, a surge of natural energy gathered around the Dragon Vein, forming a new seal in an instant.

The Five Elements Seal!

The energy that had been released when the original seal was broken was now guided by Raijin, forming a giant sphere of purple light.

"Let's test it out. This power… it seems like it can take us back in time."

Turning to Tsunade, Raijin spoke softly.

He had known about this power for a while but never used it—because he had been saving it for Tsunade.

Tsunade... She was strong-willed from a young age.

The first time we met as kids, I wasn't her match. But as time passed, Raijin slowly refined his strength, little by little.

Eventually, Tsunade was no longer my match either.

At times, even when Tsunade, Jiraiya, and the others joined forces, they still couldn't defeat Raijin.

Tsunade never said much about it, but Raijin knew—deep down, she still wanted him to become stronger.

But that's just how the shinobi world is.

For almost everyone, their potential is set the moment they're born.

Without a special opportunity, they'll spend their entire lives without breaking past their limits.

"We can go back to the past?"

Tsunade froze for a moment, then looked up at the massive purple energy sphere floating in the air.

"Yeah. If we're directly affected by this energy, we don't know which point in time we'll end up in. But it can be absorbed."

Raijin turned to Tsunade as he spoke.

"I've tested it—it's fine."

After saying that, Raijin continued,

"If possible, I want to give you a chance to go even further."

"You should do it instead."

Tsunade pressed her lips together, hesitated for a moment, then spoke to Raijin.

"I don't know if this power is important to you, but I do know that making you stronger is the most important thing right now."

"You are Konoha's ceiling—I'm not."

She looked at Raijin and continued.

"Besides, the fact that you brought me here already tells me how you feel."

Maybe she was afraid Raijin would refuse, so she added,

"I'm not someone who's good at stepping aside for others."

Raijin smirked slightly.

"This power isn't really useful to me anyway…"

He paused for a moment, then continued.

"It might not be useful now, but who knows about the future?"

Tsunade chuckled and shook her head. She took two steps forward and patted Raijin on the shoulder.

"You carry a lot of people's expectations on your back."

"Heh…"

Raijin let out a bitter chuckle as he looked at the floating purple energy.

Slowly, he raised his hand, pointing it toward Tsunade.

Her eyes widened as she felt her body suddenly rise into the air, completely out of her control.

"First, I don't need this power. Second, I don't care about what kind of burden I carry—I care more about what I might lose in the future."

As he raised his other hand, the purple energy in the air condensed into a tangible form and, under his guidance, poured into Tsunade's body.

"Maybe we'll develop a way to master Senjutsu permanently, maybe we'll gain a longer lifespan—but in the end, the depth of life matters far more than its length."

Raijin looked at Tsunade and spoke slowly.

"Why do I protect Konoha? Do I really care about Konoha itself? No—I care about the people living in it."

"Because of you, because of Orochimaru, because of Jiraiya, because of Suisei, because of so many others… My life feels meaningful because of all of you."

"If one day, all of you are gone, then even if Konoha still stands, even if I'm still alive, what difference would it make if I were dead?"

"I can't always be there to protect you. I just hope that one day, if you face danger, even if you can't overcome it, you'll at least survive."

"So, even though I didn't ask for your opinion, you have to accept this power."

Raijin's Tenseigan shimmered with a faint golden glow as he focused on the energy surging inside Tsunade, ensuring that it wouldn't harm her.

Finally, most of the energy from the Dragon Vein had merged into Tsunade. As Raijin looked at what remained, he…

Pressed his lips together and turned toward the sealed Dragon Vein nearby.

Even in just this short time, the power sealed within had already begun to grow.

With a simple wave of his hand, the seal was lifted—but before the energy could burst forth again, Raijin controlled the surrounding forces to suppress it.

He sealed the remaining energy back into the Dragon Vein and reinforced it with another Five Elements Seal.

After thinking for a moment, he added an Eight Trigrams Seal for extra security.

"Uchiha Raijin!"

At that moment, Tsunade's gritted voice rang out.

Raijin stiffly turned his head and flashed a perfect smile at her, revealing eight teeth.

"I'm surprised you held back your anger until now."

As he spoke to Tsunade, he immediately turned around and ran.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Tsunade stared at Raijin, her eyes glowing faintly with purple light.

A strange sensation surged, and in an instant, Raijin's body froze in place.

What the…

Feeling the softness against his back, Raijin's mind remained completely clear.

Let alone this kind of contact—even if it were something far more extreme, it wouldn't stir the slightest ripple in Raijin's heart.

In fact, at this moment, he felt a chill rising inside him.

As expected, in the blink of an eye, he felt the arm tightening around his neck.

A powerful force instantly pulled him backward.

"Oww—what are you doing?"

His vision blurred for a moment, and the next thing he knew, he was lying on a rock. Looking up at Tsunade, who was still pinning him down, he sighed helplessly.

"Uchiha Raijin, you've really grown bold, huh?"

She grabbed his chin, her voice laced with irritation.

At the same time, she keenly noticed that a huge portion of the Dragon Vein energy inside her had vanished.

So… even though it could rewind time in a limited area, the energy consumption fluctuated depending on the target's strength?

But she wasn't in the mood to analyze that right now.

What mattered more was making sure Uchiha Raijin behaved himself.

"You said life is about depth, not length. What, are you trying to be a poet now?"

"Go absorb the rest of the Dragon Vein's energy."

Tsunade ordered him. She had to admit, she was genuinely touched that Raijin had given her this power.

But...

More than feeling moved, she cared about how strong Raijin was.

Someone who was already powerful—

Even if they just expanded their abilities or strengthened their foundation—

Would gain far more than a weaker person reaching their upper limits.

Wasting such a miraculous power on herself was meaningless.

"No."

Raijin blinked and shook his head at her.

"Be good and do it while nothing has happened yet."

Tsunade chuckled softly, loosening her grip on his chin. One of her fingers slowly traced down from his jaw.

"No."

Raijin swallowed instinctively but still shook his head.

"Behave. My patience is limited."

A sharp sensation pricked his chest. The tightness from his clothes disappeared in an instant.

"No."

Raijin still refused.

"You really do have a bottom line. Good—I like people with a bottom line."

Tsunade's eyes curved into a smile as she pulled out a pitch-black scroll from who knows where.

The scroll unraveled and spread directly over Raijin's body.

"I knew you were going to take that out."

Raijin looked at the scroll and sighed at Tsunade helplessly.

"So?"

Tsunade raised an eyebrow at him.

Of course, she had to bring it out.

This was Tsunade's little source of happiness, after all.

"Have you considered the possibility that I don't actually need to absorb that power?"

Raijin pursed his lips slightly and raised a finger, its tip glowing with purple light.

The so-called Dragon Vein—

It was the lifeblood of the land, a form of natural energy.

And since it was natural energy, Raijin no longer needed to rely on external forces to absorb it.

Remembering the nature of this power, it could now be drawn from nature itself.

Raijin chuckled as he saw Tsunade's surprised expression and reached out to tap her hand.

In the next moment, Tsunade felt her strength—mostly drained from using time reversal on Raijin—rapidly recovering.

"Not bad."

She patted Raijin's shoulder with satisfaction. This way, she could rest easy.

"So, can I put this away now?"

Raijin glanced at the scroll draped over him and asked Tsunade.

"Didn't I already say? My patience is limited."

Tsunade gave Raijin a glance and spoke softly.

"And now, I've run out of it."

Without another word, she reached out, grabbed Raijin's chin, and kissed him.
