"Hahahaha…" Tsume Inuzuka laughed loudly before speaking again. "Hana, aren't you supposed to be in class at the Ninja Academy at this time?"

Upon hearing this, Hana Inuzuka muttered under her breath, "I don't like those boring classes at the Ninja Academy. Graymaru doesn't like them either."

"Woof! Woof!"

A growling sound came from behind Hana, and a massive gray wolfhound bounded through the doorway.

Seeing the furry big dog, Mirai Uchiha felt compelled to step forward and give it a few pats.

Hana quickly shouted a warning: "Captain Mirai, watch out! Graymaru is very fierce…"

"Eh?"

Her voice trailed off.

Graymaru, who would usually become extremely aggressive around strangers, actually let out a whimper and obediently lowered his head instead, his bushy tail slapping the floor joyfully.

Soon enough, he even lay down on the ground, exposing his snowy white belly right in front of Mirai Uchiha.

Seeing Graymaru's clearly delighted look, Hana was utterly stunned.

What's going on?

Wasn't Graymaru always averse to being touched by others?

Even she could only touch Graymaru's back.

Mirai Uchiha turned around and asked, "Little Hana, what did you just say?"

"N-Nothing…"

Mirai stood up straight and looked at Tsume. "Since Little Hana doesn't like the Ninja Academy, why not let her graduate early?"

"Recently, the police squad has been undergoing reforms and has plans to recruit some ninjas from the village."

"I think Hana and Graymaru would be great fits."

Tsume responded with astonishment when he heard Mirai's words. "Reforms? Recruiting ninjas from the village?"

"That's right."

Tsume felt somewhat alarmed.

After all, the police squad held significant power and had always been fully controlled by the Uchiha Clan with no outside interference allowed.

He never expected that Mirai Uchiha would now willingly share authority.

Since Tsume didn't know about the conspiracy within the police squad, he developed even more respect for Mirai's decision.

"Mom! I want to join the police squad!"

Hana excitedly declared.

The police squad was so impressive—if she became part of it, all her classmates would be green with envy.

After a moment's thought, Tsume spoke solemnly, "Then it's settled."

"Captain Mirai, I'm now placing the future of the Inuzuka Clan entirely in your hands. Don't disappoint me."

Mirai Uchiha gave a light chuckle. "Don't worry. My strength is more than enough to protect everything behind me."

It was already night when they left the Inuzuka Clan's compound.

Mikoto Uchiha had already prepared dinner, and now, wearing an apron, she was mopping the floor.

Seeing Mirai Uchiha return, Mikoto Uchiha's face briefly flushed red. "Captain Mirai, you're back?"

Mirai Uchiha pinched Mikoto's cheek gently. "Mikoto, don't need to be so formal. Just call me like you did last night."

Upon hearing this, Mikoto bit her lip, her face turning crimson, as though it could bleed.

For some reason, after spending several days together, she had stopped wanting to resist Mirai's commands altogether.

Taking a deep breath, Mikoto lowered her head and murmured, "Yes…"

"Hahaha...!"

Mirai Uchiha laughed for a moment before pulling Mikoto to sit at the dining table.

Their relationship was growing increasingly intimate.

After dinner, Mikoto went to prepare bathwater.

Mirai headed to the courtyard to begin his daily practice.

Suddenly, Mirai sensed something stir within him—he immediately realized that a [Flying Thunder God] mark had been activated.

"So they finally decided to make their move?"

Muttering softly to himself, Mirai instantly vanished from the spot.

Under moonlight, more than a dozen ninja wearing Kiri Forehead Protectors continuously darted through thick forest, chasing a man and woman ahead of them.

The pursued pair wore Konoha's Forehead Protectors; one had facial paint while the other wore a mask.

They were none other than Rin Nohara and Kakashi Hatake.

They had left the village for a mission when Mist Ninja suddenly appeared and abducted Rin.

They chased all the way to the seashore where Kakashi barely rescued Rin, only to realize it was a trap set by the Mist Ninja.

Before long, an open clearing stretched out before them.

Kakashi Hatake and Rin Nohara came to a halt as the sea loomed ahead.

"Brat, our little cat-and-mouse game ends here."

With savage expressions, the Mist Ninja charged simultaneously at Kakashi and Rin.

"Kakashi, don't worry about me—just run!"

"Rin, rest for now. I promised Obito I'd always protect you."

Drawing his katana, Kakashi was immediately engaged in fierce combat with dozens of Mist shinobi.

Very soon, however, the situation began to turn perilous for Kakashi.

Despite his strong abilities, facing such a large group of elite Mist Ninja made him struggle.

If not for their obvious intent to capture rather than kill him, he would likely be dead by now.

Watching the battle unfold, Rin seized the chance to pull out the Gold Dust Kunai.

However, before she could channel chakra into the kunai, a strange white creature suddenly appeared before her.

This bizarre creature also had a triple-comma Sharingan in its eyes.

The moment their gazes met, Rin Nohara's eyes glazed over.

"Let Kakashi Hatake kill… kill…"

The humanoid monster vanished, and Rin kept murmuring to herself as she started walking toward Kakashi Hatake.

Kakashi's strength was rapidly draining away in the desperate situation.

He desperately gathered chakra through his body and rapidly formed hand seals: "Chidori!"

A piercing chirp erupted as Kakashi suddenly dashed toward a Mist ninja.

But in the next instant, an unexpected figure rushed over.

The Chidori pierced Rin's body unexpectedly.

Kakashi's eyes widened in shock, momentarily paralyzed with disbelief.

At the brink of death, Rin finally broke free from the genjutsu.

With trembling hands, she placed the Gold Dust Kunai into Kakashi's palm: "Kakashi, channel your chakra..."

Before Rin could finish speaking, her body went limp and collapsed.

Kakashi immediately snatched up the Gold Dust Kunai and started channeling chakra into it.

Rin had told him about the Gold Dust Kunai before, so he knew exactly what to do.

Yet Kakashi never expected that in an instant, all his chakra was completely drained by the kunai.

Immediately afterward, he collapsed heavily onto the ground, unconscious from sheer chakra depletion.

Just as Kakashi fell, Mirai Uchiha appeared in a flash.

[Amaterasu!]
