Chapter 70: Chapter 70
Danzo was on the verge of exploding with anger, but after waiting for so many years, a few more days wouldn't make a difference. How could he, Danzo, be someone who didn't understand patience? Let Jiraiya take the Hokage seat for now. If evidence surfaced in the future, he would ensure Jiraiya was impeached without hesitation.
Meanwhile, Jiraiya was pondering how to handle Naruto. He had originally planned to take the boy to find his old friend Tsunade, but after unexpectedly becoming Hokage, he found himself with little time for training.
"Hmm... I'll let him train there for now, and I need to teach him some ninjutsu. Let me think... Yeah, if it's him, he can definitely learn the Rasengan. Ahahahaha!" Jiraiya laughed as he left.
Since the Hokage succession ceremony wouldn't take place for a few more days, he decided to use the time to lay the foundation for Naruto's training.
Naruto's home was a dimly lit, large apartment. He was sleeping soundly, his belly exposed, with a cup of instant noodles—long since gone cold—sitting on the table. Jiraiya pushed the door open and flicked the light switch on.
"Mmm... What? Oh... It's just you, pervy sage..." Naruto groaned, covering his eyes. His scarlet-tinted eyes were barely open, still heavy with sleep.
"Naruto, I have something important to take care of in a few days, so I won't be able to train with you. But I've found a great place for you to train..." Jiraiya glanced at the pile of empty noodle cups, then pulled out two popsicles from behind him.
"Huh? But you said you'd teach me powerful ninjutsu! You said you'd always train with me! I don't want to train with someone else! I want to train with you, pervy sage!" Naruto's hand, halfway to grabbing a popsicle, froze. His expression turned distant, his eyes dull.
"Of course, I'll be with you. It's just being Hokage—it's not that big a deal."
"...Huh?"
"AHHHH! So... the pervy sage is going to... become the Hokage?!" Naruto's frozen expression shattered like glass, his entire body turning rigid as if petrified. The scene almost turned black and white.
He muttered to himself repeatedly, "It's over... If a pervy sage can become Hokage... Konoha's doomed... Konoha Village is going to turn into Pervy Village..."
Before he could spiral further, Jiraiya smacked him on the head. "That's not the point! What's important is what comes next for you." He straightened Naruto up and pointed at the spiral seal on his stomach, his expression serious.
"I reinforced the seal on the Nine-Tails inside you, but its chakra still lingers in your body. That's not exactly a good thing for you right now..." Jiraiya's large hand brushed over Naruto's forehead, his fox-like red eyes narrowing.
"I originally wanted to take you to see an old friend of mine—she's an expert in this kind of thing—but the place I'm sending you next can help with this too." Jiraiya kept his explanation vague, leaving Naruto filled with questions.
He withdrew his hand and prepared to show Naruto something else.
A swirling force condensed in Jiraiya's palm. His long white hair swayed, even without wind. Strands of blue energy gathered in his hand like rivers flowing into the sea, eventually forming a glowing blue sphere.
The orb churned violently within, its chaotic energy locked perfectly inside, restrained by an invisible force.
Naruto's eyes widened with excitement. He could feel the immense energy radiating from the technique, and stars practically shone in his eyes. He wanted to learn this jutsu! No complicated hand seals—this was perfect for him!

Elsewhere, Hyuga Chinano, Karin, and Aburame Hatsuizumi stared at Zixu, who was sitting atop a large rock.
Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro stood off to the side, watching cautiously. Though still searching for a way to escape, Gaara had transitioned from outright rejection of the situation to reluctant acceptance—progress, at least.
"Huh? What's so surprising? Don't believe in my teaching skills? I'm not called Zixu for nothing." He smirked. Even if they doubted him, they had to believe in Guy Sensei. And if all else failed, well... a hammer to the head sometimes helped things click into place.
Aburame Hatsuizumi glanced at a shadow clone practicing lazily under the shade of a tree. A tiny black snake coiled around the clone's head, looking just as unmotivated. Clearly, her skepticism toward Zixu's teaching ability was warranted.
She pointed at her red panda, Momohiko, which was dutifully doing sit-ups on its own. Even when she tempted it with bamboo, the little panda remained unfazed—so disciplined!
"Why does this feel unreliable? Didn't you learn Shadow Clone from me before?" Hyuga Chinano questioned, raising an eyebrow. She had taken off her headband, her dark blue hair concealing the faint curse mark beneath it. For the first time in a while, she smiled.
Karin stood weakly to the side, silent. Her life had been saved by Zixu, so she trusted him implicitly. In her eyes, Zixu would never lie to her.
She pushed up her glasses, clasping her hands together with admiration. "I believe in Zixu-kun! Please teach me everything you can—ah, I mean, teach me ninjutsu, Zixu-kun!" she blurted, her cheeks flushing slightly.
Nearby, Aburame Hatsuizumi smirked wickedly at the scene. Sneaking behind Karin, she suddenly grabbed her.
"I can teach you too! This move is called Earth Throw!" She declared, spinning her around a few times. Karin's eyes spun into spirals as she wobbled dizzily.
"Stop messing around! I'm serious here! Chinano, you specialize in Water Release, right? Watch this."
Zixu gestured for the girls to focus. He formed a quick set of hand seals and prepared to demonstrate.
Hyuga Chinano recognized his initial stance—he was preparing an offensive Water Release jutsu. Typically, this technique required a long series of hand seals, but Zixu's movements were different. His seals were drastically simplified and performed with incredible speed.
"Suiton: Suiryūdan no Jutsu! (Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!)"
A massive, lifelike water dragon surged from Zixu's mouth. Its watery scales shimmered, the details meticulously crafted. Most striking were its eyes, gleaming with intelligence.
"Water Dragon Bullet?! Normally, it takes 44 hand seals, but Zixu just reduced it to four?!" Hyuga Chinano gasped. Ninjutsu wasn't set in stone—many techniques evolved over time. Some were refined, others went horribly wrong. But simplifying a jutsu to this degree? That was on another level.
Aburame Hatsuizumi and Karin finally realized Zixu had been serious all along. They scrambled forward eagerly.
"I want to learn too!"
"Now you see the value of my knowledge. Professor Zixu, Master of a Hundred Arts!" Zixu stretched, smugly patting his head.
In the distance, Gaara and his siblings, now soaked by the water dragon, stood motionless.
"...Thanks for that."
