Chapter 14: Chapter 14 Jiraiya's Troubles
Simu sat there carelessly, hands in his pockets, as if everything had nothing to do with him.
Minato looked at Jiraiya and humbly asked, "Master Jiraiya, am I right?"
Jiraiya hesitated.
Shouldn't this kind of knowledge be explained by him?
Among his three students, one was too strong—casually blowing up his clone and even awakening a new Kekkei Genkai-style technique, Light Release. This completely ruined his plan to teach him a lesson.
Minato, on the other hand, was modest and humble. Although still a student, he already possessed knowledge and talent far beyond that of an ordinary ninja.
Then there was Kushina, a wild and unruly Jinchūriki.
The strongest tailed beast, the Nine-Tails, was sealed inside her, and she would call herself an old hooligan whenever she got annoyed.
Jiraiya's gaze shifted back and forth between the three of them before finally settling on Minato.
Forget it, Minato seems more reliable.
His lips twitched slightly. "Yes, yes, you're absolutely right."
Kushina curled her lips in disgust. "Tsk, who would've thought such a powerful little genius is actually a cheapskate?"
Hearing this, Simu immediately took off his sunglasses, his eyes filled with seriousness.
"Kushina, don't tell me you're trying to back out of our deal?"
Kushina turned her head away. "Relax, I'll pay you back when I have the money."
Satisfied with her assurance, Simu patted his chest in relief.
"Good. You can take your time, but you have to pay me back."
This was one of Simu's principles in life.
Glancing at the table piled high with plates, Simu checked the time, yawned, and said, "Alright, it's getting late. Time to head back and rest."
Minato and Kushina both nodded.
Only Jiraiya remained, staring blankly at the bill.
"Master Jiraiya, the total cost for tonight is 50,000 ryo..."
The waiter handed Jiraiya the bill.
It wasn't that this restaurant was particularly expensive—it was just that Simu and the others had eaten too much.
They had ordered enough barbecue for fifty people...
And that was already with a discount.
With Simu's imitation ability improving daily, his physical development had accelerated. If he wanted to grow stronger quickly, the best way was to consume a massive amount of nutrients.
Tonight, since Jiraiya was paying, Simu had taken the opportunity to eat without restraint.
On normal days, he wouldn't spend so much money on meat.
Back home, Simu lay comfortably on his bed and patted his stomach.
Since his Pika Pika no Mi (Glint-Glint Fruit) ability had been exposed today, his imitation percentage had increased once again.
From 20% to 23%.
Once he started going on missions, this percentage would continue to rise.
Tonight was destined to be anything but peaceful.
Inspired by Simu's terrifying display of power, Minato and Kushina returned home and secretly intensified their training.
Meanwhile, after much hesitation, Jiraiya took out a jar of toad oil from his cabinet and began applying it evenly across his body.
This was a specialty from Mount Myōboku.
It helped humans sense the free natural energy in the air, assisting in the comprehension of Sage Mode.
Unfortunately, Jiraiya had never been particularly talented in this field.
Even with the aid of toad oil, he could never fully master Sage Mode without retaining some toad-like characteristics.
If not for the shock of Simu's monstrous talent today, he might have already given up on his Sage training.
But today's flash of light kept reminding him—if he didn't improve, he would soon be surpassed by his students!
The Next Morning
Jiraiya arrived at the Hokage's office bright and early.
Sarutobi Hiruzen raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"You're early today. That's not like you."
Jiraiya gave a wry smile. "Master, I'm sure you already know what happened yesterday."
The Third Hokage nodded, indicating that he understood.
"Whether it's Simu, Minato, or Kushina, all three of them are exceptionally talented. I want to start leading them on missions as soon as possible," Jiraiya said seriously.
Since the Third Hokage had entrusted him with such gifted students, he had to take responsibility for them.
He had great confidence in their future.
As long as nothing unexpected happened, these three would become the pillars of Konoha, towering trees that protected the village and inherited the Will of Fire.
The Third Hokage folded his arms and smiled, the wrinkles on his face deepening.
"Jiraiya, it's rare to see you this motivated."
Sarutobi knew his disciple well.
Jiraiya had always been a bit lazy when it came to missions, and it was almost unheard of for him to actively come and request one.
Still, to be cautious, Sarutobi asked, "Do you think they don't need any additional training?"
Normally, newly graduated genin needed about a week of team-building and training before going on their first mission.
But Jiraiya was suggesting skipping that entirely.
A smirk formed at the corner of Jiraiya's lips.
"To be honest, their talent has exceeded my expectations."
"Ordinary training would be nothing but a waste of time for them."
"In fact, if things keep progressing like this, I might lose my qualification to be their sensei in just a few days."
Although Jiraiya's words carried a hint of bitterness, the Third Hokage could see the pride in his expression.
It reminded him of the time when he had trained Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and Tsunade...
Back then, he had worn the same helpless expression in front of Danzo.
Because sometimes, when a student's talent was too overwhelming, all a teacher could do was try their best to keep up.
