Chapter 14: Chapter 14: The Eyes That See the Truth

1. The Flickering Vision

Rin sat in his dimly lit room, staring at his reflection in the small mirror. He had expected the Sharingan to activate after his reckless stunt in the forest. But when he checked…

Nothing.

"It was so close… I felt it."

His grip on the table tightened. The knowledge that he had copied two Sharingan, but neither was active, gnawed at him. Kakashi's Sharingan had been borrowed, but Sasuke's was real.

So why wasn't it working?

What was he missing?

2. Another Perspective

The next morning, Team 7 gathered at Training Ground 3 for their next assignment.

Kakashi greeted them with his usual lazy expression. "Alright, today's mission is simple—escort a merchant to the next village. Should be an easy D-rank mission."

Naruto groaned. "Another lame mission?!"

Sasuke crossed his arms. "Tch. A waste of time."

Hinata glanced at Rin. "Are you okay? You look… distracted."

Rin snapped out of his thoughts. "I'm fine. Just thinking."

Hinata hesitated, but nodded.

As they walked through the village preparing for their journey, Rin kept an eye on Sasuke.

"He doesn't even realize I copied his Sharingan. If I can just figure out the missing piece…"

3. The Journey Begins

The mission started out uneventful. The merchant, an older man named Daichi, was talkative but harmless. The road was clear, the sky bright, and Naruto was already complaining.

"Ugh! When do we get to fight some bandits or something?!"

Kakashi chuckled. "Be careful what you wish for, Naruto."

But Rin? He was lost in thought.

He needed a way to trigger his Sharingan naturally. He had tried pain, but maybe he was approaching it the wrong way. Maybe he needed something more intense.

Then, as if the universe was answering his thoughts—

The attack came.

4. Blood in the Air

It happened fast.

One second, the road was clear. The next—kunai flew from the trees.

Kakashi barely had time to react before masked figures emerged from the forest, surrounding them.

"Bandits?" Sasuke muttered.

"No," Rin whispered. He could see the precision in their formation. These weren't ordinary thugs.

They were shinobi.

Kakashi's posture shifted. "Everyone, stay close. This just got serious."

One of the masked men stepped forward. "Hand over the merchant, and we won't kill you."

Daichi stumbled back, terrified. "I-I don't have anything valuable!"

The leader smirked. "You have your life."

Kakashi sighed. "I was hoping for an easy day."

Then—chaos erupted.

5. A Fight to Survive

The enemy moved fast. Too fast.

Naruto charged forward. "Take this—Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

Five clones appeared, rushing in, but the enemy shinobi cut through them like paper.

Hinata activated her Byakugan, her expression serious. "There's at least six of them. Their chakra flow is strong!"

Sasuke was already moving, weaving hand signs. "Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

A massive sphere of fire roared toward the enemy, but they scattered, avoiding the attack.

Rin stood in the middle of it all, his heart pounding.

The enemy was skilled. This wasn't a training match. If he hesitated—he could die.

And then—

One of them appeared behind him.

"Too slow."

The enemy's kunai came down toward Rin's neck.

His body moved on instinct.

BAM!

His vision sharpened.

The world slowed down.

For the first time—

His eyes burned.

6. The Awakening

Everything changed.

Rin saw the kunai coming. He saw the subtle movements of his attacker's wrist. He saw the exact angle he needed to dodge.

And he moved.

His body twisted just in time, the kunai barely grazing his cheek.

The enemy's eyes widened. "What?!"

Rin's breathing was ragged. His heart raced.

But then he saw it—his reflection in the enemy's blade.

His eyes had changed.

Two crimson tomoe spun in each eye.

"The Sharingan… it's finally awakened."

7. The Predator's Gaze

Rin didn't hesitate. His muscles reacted faster than before.

His opponent swung again—but Rin saw everything.

He countered.

He dodged.

He struck back.

BAM!

His fist connected with the enemy's ribs, sending him skidding across the dirt.

Sasuke, who had been fighting nearby, turned his head—his eyes widening slightly.

"That movement…"

Rin locked eyes with his fallen opponent.

For the first time, he felt it—the power of the Uchiha.

8. A New Path

The fight ended with Kakashi neutralizing the remaining enemies. The surviving shinobi retreated, leaving Team 7 victorious.

Naruto cheered. "We did it!"

Hinata sighed in relief. "That was… too close."

But Rin?

He stood there, staring at his hands, then at his reflection in a puddle.

The red eyes stared back at him.

The Sharingan was his now.

Sasuke approached, his expression unreadable. "…Your eyes."

Rin turned, smirking. "Surprised?"

Sasuke's fists clenched. "How?"

Rin shrugged. "Guess I was just born lucky."

Sasuke's expression darkened.

For the first time—he saw Rin as a true rival.

9. The Road Ahead

That night, as Rin sat alone in his room, he activated his Sharingan again.

The red glow in his eyes sent a thrill through his body.

"This is only the beginning."

Now that he had the Sharingan, there was so much more to take.

The Uchiha bloodline was only one step toward his true goal.

He would take everything.
