Chapter 6: Chapter 6: The Bell Test – True Strength Remains Hidden
---
1. The Bell Test Begins
Kakashi twirled the two small silver bells in his hand, his lone visible eye curving into a lazy smile.
"These bells," he said, "are your ticket to becoming real Genin. Whoever doesn't get one… will be sent back to the Academy."
Naruto's jaw dropped. "Wait, WHAT?! But there are only two bells! One of us is guaranteed to fail!"
Kakashi chuckled. "That's right. So… I suggest you come at me with the intent to kill."
Ren narrowed his eyes. He's testing us in more ways than one.
Hinata fidgeted slightly but nodded.
Kakashi pulled out an orange book and flipped it open. "You have until noon. Begin."
The moment he said that, Hinata and Ren disappeared into the trees.
Naruto, however—
"YAAAAAH!" He charged straight at Kakashi, fists swinging wildly.
Ren sighed from his hiding spot. Classic Naruto.
---
2. Observing from the Shadows
Ren crouched on a high tree branch, watching the fight unfold. He wasn't going to rush in like Naruto.
Instead, he used this time to study Kakashi's movements while his AFK System processed new passive gains.
> AFK System Update:
Observation Skill: +2
Genjutsu Resistance: +1
Taijutsu Analysis (Basic): +1
Kakashi easily dodged Naruto's attacks with minimal effort.
"Too slow," the Jonin muttered, flipping a page in his book mid-dodge.
Naruto lunged again, but—
POOF!
A log replaced Kakashi's body. Substitution Jutsu.
Ren smirked. This is the perfect chance to copy that technique.
> D-Rank Jutsu Copied: Kawarimi no Jutsu (Substitution Jutsu)

3. The First Engagement – Testing the Waters
Hinata hid nearby, her Byakugan activated. "R-Ren-kun, what should we do?"
Ren kept his gaze on Kakashi. "We wait for the right moment."
Hinata nodded, trusting his judgment.
Meanwhile, Naruto had been tied to a log.
"WHAT?! WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?!"
Kakashi chuckled. "You let your emotions control you. Rookie mistake."
Ren knew it was his turn to act.
In an instant, he formed hand seals—
"Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu."
A barrage of shuriken flew toward Kakashi from multiple directions.
Kakashi's eye flickered in mild surprise. Clever.
He dodged the real ones but realized—
"Genjutsu?"
For a brief moment, his surroundings wavered.
Ren smirked from behind a tree. He saw through it quickly. No surprise.
> Genjutsu Attempt Failed – Target Resistance Too High
Ren clicked his tongue. I need better genjutsu skills.
Kakashi turned toward Ren's hiding spot. "Not bad. But not good enough."
Then—he vanished.
Ren barely had time to react before—
THWACK!
A hand grabbed him from behind and slammed him into the ground.
"Gotcha," Kakashi said, holding a kunai to Ren's throat.
Ren smirked. "Not really."
POOF!
Substitution Jutsu.
A log lay in his place.
Kakashi's eye widened slightly. He copied that already?
Ren appeared behind him, kunai ready—
But Kakashi was already gone.
---
4. Teamwork – The Key to Victory
Hinata watched everything unfold, analyzing Ren and Kakashi's movements.
Her Byakugan picked up a slight opening.
"R-Ren-kun! His left side!"
Ren reacted instantly. Hinata's vision was invaluable.
He threw a kunai straight at Kakashi's blind spot.
Kakashi, however, caught it between two fingers. "Good call, Hinata. But—"
A blur of orange suddenly appeared.
"TAKE THIS!"
Naruto came flying in with a spinning kick.
For the first time, Kakashi looked a little surprised.
Ren had coordinated with Naruto's reckless attack, using it as a distraction.
But even that wasn't enough.
Kakashi ducked, swept Naruto's legs out from under him, and countered with a simple tap on his forehead.
"Nice try."
Naruto groaned. "Ow…"
Ren sighed. We need a better plan.
He glanced at the bells. Kakashi isn't invincible. There's a way to beat him.
---
5. The Final Strategy – A Risky Gamble
Ren quickly formulated a plan.
He turned to Naruto and Hinata. "We need to work together. That's the real test."
Naruto frowned. "What do you mean?"
Ren smirked. "Just trust me."
Hinata nodded. "I-I believe in you, Ren-kun."
Ren whispered the strategy. Naruto's eyes widened. "That might actually work!"
The three of them spread out.
Kakashi stood in the center of the field. "Oh? Planning something?"
Then—they moved.
Naruto threw a kunai directly at Kakashi.
Kakashi dodged—but that was the bait.
Hinata activated her Gentle Fist and attacked from the right.
Kakashi dodged again—only to realize too late—
Ren had planted explosive tags on the kunai.
BOOM!
A controlled explosion kicked up a cloud of dust.
When it cleared—
Kakashi stood there, unharmed.
But—his book was gone.
Ren twirled it in his fingers. "Not so fast, sensei."
Kakashi blinked. "You stole my book?"
Naruto burst out laughing. "Hah! We got you, Kakashi-sensei!"
Hinata covered her mouth, suppressing a giggle.
Kakashi sighed. "Alright, alright. You pass."
Naruto froze. "…Wait, what?"
Kakashi smiled. "The real purpose of this test was teamwork. And you finally figured that out."
He tossed them the bells. "Welcome to Team 7."
Naruto's eyes sparkled. "WE DID IT!"
Ren smirked. The first step was complete.
But deep inside, he thought—This is only the beginning.
---
6. The Future Awaits
As the sun set over Konoha, Team 7 stood together for the first time.
Kakashi watched them with a calculating gaze. This team is different.
Ren glanced at Hinata and Naruto.
Hinata smiled shyly at him.
Naruto grinned, punching his palm. "Time to become the strongest ninja ever!"
Ren simply smirked. "Let's see who truly reaches the top first."
