Chapter 493 Redirections
"What happened?" Harvey stuttered, still unable to process the event that followed.

The attack they were so proud of had backfired, leaving five of their members heavily injured because they were too slow to react.
Well, not like I could blame them.
Those beam speeds were no joke even against Powerful Gifted.
Without a reaction time beyond the realm of humans, dodging it was close to impossible—except for me.
My reaction time was so fast that I could think of multiple ways to dodge it before it even reach midway.
For less powerful gifteds , the best thing to do was block it, but with how slowly they formed their barriers, it was like they didn't even try at all.
This was one of the problem that I found in them.
In terms of cooperation and technology, they could be considered a model team on how to fight in a group.
Each of them simply followed Harvey without question, making the entire commanding process much easier.
However, because they relied too much on their technology and team tactics, they failed to develop their own unique way of fighting, becoming monotonous and stagnant. .
That was why the five had failed to react; they lacked experience in fighting someone far more powerful than them combined.
"Inject them now with the serum !" Harvey ordered
The remaining members hurriedly administered some kind of injectable metallic silver liquid to heal them. They injected it into a socket located in the chest part of their mechanical body.
Judging by how quickly their wounds were healing, the treatment was highly effective.
However, after closer inspection of the healed individuals, I could detect a deterioration in their overall mental health. With their current condition, they would be lucky to last a year.
I could see that the inside of their brain was rotting slightly.
It was clear as day that the medicine injected into them was a worst-case scenario solution.
This meant that if they faced a more powerful enemy than themselves, they could gain a boost in power, in exchange for their own lifespan .
"Are you really not going to fight them seriously?" Shao Mi asked, her face flushed with embarrassment. I had been clinging to her as if it were the only thing I could do.
Shao Mi tried her best to push me back, but now she just accepted her fate—that it was all up to me.
She couldn't even use her power to escape because of her exhaustion.
Plus, I doubted that she would really try something funny after seeing my awesome display of power.
Previously, she witnessed how effortlessly I redirect their attacks, and I sensed her heartbeat slowly calming, perhaps thinking that she was safe now.
The anxiety that had been gripping her body was finally released, explaining her earlier outburst of tears.
"Hey, you still haven't answered me," I whispered into her soft earlobe.
"What do you want?" Her voice a little flustered , and there was a hint of defiance in her voice . "And could you please let go of me?"
"I can't do that. If I don't hug you, then my power won't work," I responded with a sigh, my tone so convincing that even Harvey's group, who overheard us, believed it was their chance to .
"Stop playing. There's no way that is true," Shao Mi replied skeptically.
"I can prove it, but these people will tear me apart. Do you really want me to take that risk?"
"I—I..." she was speechless, unsure of what to do.
"Formation Alpha," Harvey's voice shattered the fun moment I shared with Shao Mi.
They synchronized, touching each other's metallic shoulders, initiating a transfer of energy to him.
The influx of energy into his robotic body surged exponentially, causing it to emit smoke and gradually turn red from the overwhelming buildup of heat.
"Die!" He roared, and with that, a powerful beam of light pierced the air , directly heading towards me.
"Slow down!" I muttered, and the supposedly fastest type of attack (light) in the universe began moving at a snail's pace.
"N-- No way," Everyone had now realized that they were dealing with someone far beyond their league.
Funny thing was, I wasn't even serious yet.
All the powers I've used so far were nothing more than imitations of Rei Mei's and Mio's powers.
For example, my ability to stop all kinetic energy stemmed from mastering Rei Mei's power to an unprecedented level.
This allowed me to generate thousands of different frequencies simultaneously, capable of neutralizing vibrations and, consequently, the kinetic energy generated by them.
But for the last attack, I incorporated a different approach, drawing inspiration from Mio's power, which involved slowing down matter to this degree.
And I was not done yet.
To make my presence even more dominating, I raised my hands and bashed the air.
Instead of a whooshing sound, a crack thundered, and like glass, the space in front of my knuckles shattered, forming a black hole.
I released the beam of light from their confines, and it was absorbed by the black hole.
"Retreat!" Harvey declared.
They were far outclassed, so the only option was to retreat and report this to their family head.
Hearing his order, everyone flew in different directions to confuse me on who to chase.
It was a solid plan; however, the gap in their abilities compared to mine was just too large.
"You think you can escape me?" I chuckled at their futile attempt.
With a glint in my eyes, a wave of energy was released from my body, and a transparent barrier formed around the whole area.
As Harvey's group reached the edge of the transparent barrier, they were taken aback to find themselves trap.
They also attempted to use their communication devices to call for help, but the barrier was too strong; not even frequencies could pass through.
"What should we do now?" the dark-skinned man, who was supposed to be the second in command, asked.
"Yeah, what are you going to do?" My playful voice echoed, and they found themselves back in the same location as before after I forcefully teleported them back.
"Miss me?"
