Neurolink System in the Modern World

Chapter 495 Lowkey No more

"Oh, coffee means sex in our world," I teased, my warm breath tickling her soft skin.

"What?" she exclaimed, her face flushing red as my words whispered into her ears registered.

"Scumbag," she squinted her eyes, her irritation evident this time.

My jokes had clearly struck a nerve. But I couldn't stop now.

There's a saying about race car drivers: once you hesitate, you've lost. So, the best thing to do was hit the pedal.

"It's just a cultural difference," I answered, feigning ignorance.

For example, kissing on the cheek might be normal in one culture but considered disrespectful in another.

In my case, I have my own made up world, allowing me to tailor cultures to my liking.

"By the way, once we kiss a woman, it automatically means we're married for life," I added with a playful smile. Continue your journey with empire

"You—" She attempted to protest, but her words were drowned out by another barrage of beams of light bombarding us again.

Harvey's group realized they were in a very dangerous situation, and escaping was not an option. So, they focused all their energy on me, hoping for some kind of miracle.

"Hey, do you want to see some magic?" I asked her, thoroughly enjoying the notion of convincing her I was an actual magician.

She didn't reply, but I could tell that she was curious.

Seeing this, I closed my eyes and imagined something in my mind.

Out of nowhere, a golden magic circle appeared on the ground beneath us.

The ground trembled, and the wind howled as if the end of the world was coming.

This was only an isolated phenomenon within the barrier, but for everyone who was inside, it felt like it was happening all over the world.

Harvey's group was able to regenerate their eyes using the same metallic liquid injection as before, which, in hindsight, was a dumb idea because now they would witness all these special effects.

"What's happening?" Shao Mi asked, feeling a tremendous power emanating from the Magic Circle.

Well, the magic circle was design was a little bit exaggerated; the power she felt was just me injecting mana into the ground. But because this energy was different from Mind Power, it felt foreign to her.

"Your world energy is too weak, that it's rejecting the power of my weapon," I sighed, beads of sweat appearing on my forehead as if I was having a really hard time.

"Too weak?" She was stunned by my words.

Having witnessed the true power of Earth's powerhouse, labeling it a weak world hit her ego.

But, she couldn't refute my words.

The sheer power of the energy beneath her surpassed anything she had encountered before.

As she contemplated the strength of the weapon I intended to summon, her thoughts raced with anticipation of its power.

Finally the tip of the weapon slowly emerge.

It slowly emerged from the ground, its shaft crafted from a radiant golden material.

But, it was no ordinary staff; its base bore a zigzag pattern, reminiscent of lightning solidified into shape. The added glow of the golden color heightened its imposing presence, casting an ethereal aura around it.

At its peak, a cup-like object adorned it, where seven serpent heads rest, each biting onto a jewel of a different color.

As the staff rose higher, its aura grew more intense, casting a radiant glow that illuminated the surroundings . I kept putting mana into it , to make it appear more powerful.

"I knew it, it failed," I shook my head in disappointment.

Puzzlement crossed everyone's faces as they pondered where, exactly, the staff had failed. Its sheer power was too strong; merely laying eyes on it made them feel insignificant, like mere ants before a giant.

"What do you mean?" Shao Mi's voice quivered as she spoke, her eyes wide with disbelief. With each gulp of saliva, she felt the weight of her own insignificance pressing down on her.

The proximity to the staff only amplified this feeling, enveloping her in a suffocating aura of power and dominance.

"It only has 10% of its original power," I admitted, averting my eyes from her, as if embarrassed by my mistake.

"This is only 10%?" Shao Mi gasped, her eyes widening in shock.

The idea that what she witnessed was merely a fraction of its true potential left her reeling. If this was only 10%, she couldn't help but wonder: what destruction could be unleashed at 100%?

Well, truth be told, I lied about that 10%. It's more like 1%, but saying that would seem like I'm bragging.

It's hard to admit, but I'm a humble person by nature.

"But this is enough to crush these noisy ants," my cold voice echoed.

Standing up, I held her close, refusing to release her as I raised my Staff.

My intention was to cast a spell, one that would be nothing short of awe-inspiring and earth-shattering.

And this was the perfect timing for me to test the magic system I had created using mana.

This magic system comprises four parts.

Theory, Calculation, Visualization , and Manifestation.

In order for someone to activate a spell, they must first have an understanding of it.

This understanding includes comprehending the cause and effect of each variable involved.

To create fire using the magic system's Theory component, one must grasp the intricate cause-and-effect relationships involved.

For instance, to manifest fire, a mage would need to understand the fundamental principles behind combustion and the transformation of energy.

They would calculate the amount of energy needed, then visualize the process of igniting flammable material, the rapid oxidation reaction that releases heat and light.

By channeling their mana into manipulating the atoms of the surrounding air or a designated point, they could replicated the necessary conditions for combustion to occur spontaneously.

This system was more complex than the one used by Gifteds.

However, unlike innate skills, anyone with mana could learn it.

When the preparation was complete, red particles began to form around my staff, swirling with increasing intensity. Then...

"Mid Tier Magic … Explosion!"

With just that single phrase, a chain reaction ignited, triggering a massive and violent eruption.
