The sandstone walls of Ouroboros seemed to press in on me, the usual hustle of the city replaced by a heavy silence. Arcturus stood before me, his posture ridged, his expression a mask of disappointment that cut deeper than any anger. My scales felt cold despite the desert heat.

"Where were you?" His voice was low, devoid of its usual warmth. "And tell me the truth, Akira. You may be a skilled liar, but I raised you. I know when you're being dishonest."

My gaze darted around the courtyard, anywhere but at him. "I. . . I went out" I mumbled, the words sounding weak even to my own ears.

A sigh escaped him, a sound filled with weary resignation. "So, you went out. That's it?" He raised a metaphorical eyebrow, a hint of sarcasm in his tone. "Well, since you're so reluctant to tell me the truth, I suggest I'll have to return the armor I had made for you."

Armor? My heart leaped. He'd had armor made for me? That could only mean. . . he was finally going to let me fight! "No wait! I blurted out, the words tumbling over each other in my haste. "Don't return it! I'll tell you everything."

I hesitated for a moment, then I began to recount my encounter with the Elemental Masters. I described the clearing, the way Klimer's ice clung to my Naginata, the raw power of Libber's lightning, and the unsettling stillness of Lyra's shadows. I even showed him my hand, glowing purple, with a small octagonal pattern above it, the elemental power of shockwave.

As I spoke, I saw a flicker of surprise in his eyes, followed by a wave of relief. He was surprised by my elemental power, yes, but relieved that I handled myself so well. I left out the part about creating the Naginata of course, that was a secret for another time.

When I finished, Arcturus was silent for a moment, his gaze searching mine. "You fought three elemental masters alone," he said, his voice laced with a mixture of disbelief and pride. "And you emerged unscathed."

He reached behind him, and my breath caught in my throat. There, gleaming in the dim light of the courtyard, was the armor. It was a sleek, black design, reminiscent of his own, but tailored to fit my form. It looked powerful, protective and. . . perfect.

"I'm still disappointed that you disobeyed me, Akira," he said, his voice softening. "But you've proven that you can hold your own. Now you'll be able to prove yourself on the battlefield."

He held out the armor, and I took it, my scales tingling with excitement. It felt heavy in my hands, a symbol of the trust he was placing in me. I wanted to hug him, to thank him, but I held back, I was never good at expressing my emotions.

I looked around the courtyard, the other serpentine going about their business, giving me a wide berth. They thought I was strange, I knew. An outsider. But I didn't care. Arcturus was all that mattered.

"Thank you" I said, my voice barely a whisper.

(Time skip) (Author POV)

(Location Monastery of Spinjitsu)

The air in the monastery's courtyard crackled with unspoken tension as Klimer, Libber, and Lyra limped towards the assembled Elemental masters. Their disheveled appearance and visible bruises spoke of a fierce encounter, yet their injuries were superficial, a fact that only deepened the unease. The other Masters, their expressions a mix of concern and curiosity, waited in silence, allowing the trio to gather their thoughts.

Finally, Garmadon broke the silence, his voice sharp and laced with disbelief. "You're telling me that a serpentine wielded elemental power?"

Wu, his gaze thoughtful, stepped forward. " it's not impossible, brother. Remember, the essence of elemental power is not bound by species. Even a serpentine can be a conduit."

Garmadon's brow furrowed. "Which means either someone bestowed this power upon the serpentine—"

Wu interrupted, his voice grave. "Or a new elemental power has emerged, one that predates even our father's gifts to the first Elemental masters."

Libber, her hands still tingling with the memory of the shockwave, spoke up, her voice laced with a nervous tremor. "So. . . what does it mean?"

Wu's gaze swept over the assembled Masters, his expression grim. "It means we must prepare. Prepare to face an unknown power, one that could shift the balance of this war. We must understand its nature and its limits. And we must do it quickly."

(Timeline, the near end of the war.)

(Mixed POV)

The serpentine was a maelstrom of elemental fury and serpentine cunning. Battles erupted and subsided like desert storms, leaving scars etched into the very landscape of Ninjago.

The air shimmered, not with the familiar heat of Ouroboros, but with an unsettling distortion. The desert wind whipped around me, but it carried a different scent, smoke and the metallic tang of blood, not the usual dry, dusty air.

Before me, a scene unfolded like a brutal reenactment of a forgotten tale. Libber, her face contorted with rage, unleashed a torrent of lightning upon a tightly packed formation of serpentine warriors. I watched, my scales prickling with a sense of disquiet, as the bolts tore through the ranks, leaving charred bodies in their wake.

At the edge of a canyon, Klimer, his eyes narrowed, conjured a wall of ice, halting a wave of serpentine advancing through the narrow passage. I saw the ice crack and splinter under the relentless assault of strikes.

As this was happening, Lyra clashed with a group of Constrictai. The raw power of the Constrictai, their crushing grip a deadly counter to her shadowy assault. I felt the weight of their ferocity, the desperation of their struggle.

The war raged on, a brutal dance of elemental power and serpentine resilience. I fought alongside the other serpentine, my Naginata a blur of motion, my shockwaves a devastating force. But the battles I witnessed, left me with a growing unease.

Then came the flutes.

The haunting melody, a series of high-pitched rhythmic notes that seemed to burrow into the core of every being, swept across the battlefield. Serpentine warriors froze, their eyes glazing over, becoming a red and black hypnotic swirl, their movements becoming robotic. I watched, my scales tingling, as the elemental masters herded the hypnotized serpentine into makeshift tombs.

I felt nothing. The melody which had turned my comrades into puppets, had no effect on me.

The elemental masters noticed. Their eyes wide with suspicion, turned towards me.

"You. . . You're not affected?" Libber's voice was sharp, accusatory.

My hand instinctively grabbed my Naginata.

"What are you?" Klimer demanded, his voice laced with suspicion.

The battle erupted anew, this time between me and the elemental masters. I moved with a speed and ferocity that surprised them, my Naginata deflecting their elemental attacks, my shockwaves sending them reeling. I dominated the fight, but my heart was heavy. I couldn't save Arcturus, who was fighting on a different battlefield. Too far away to get to him without using the elemental power of speed, to reveal my true nature would jeopardize everything, including my relationship with Arcturus.

As the last of the serpentine were herded into their tombs, and Wu and Garmadon prepared to send Arcturus and the other Anacondrai generals to the cursed realm, I made my decision. I couldn't stay. I couldn't risk revealing my true form, no matter how much I wanted to save Arcturus. I've used the elemental power of time a few times in my life, both whilst exploring the other realms and and a few days ago, I've seen what happens with fractured timelines and I'd rather not have to fix something like that.

With a final, defiant glare at the elemental masters, I vanished into the shadows, leaving the battlefield behind.

(Time skip)(Akira POV)

Years passed, the serpentine were imprisoned, their war a distant memory. Whilst in hiding, I watched as Ninjago moved on.

Currently I was staying in a small village known as Jamanakai, whenever I went out I always wore a purple cloak, more than large enough to cover my long tail. The cloak had silver and gold colored trimmings, forming into the shape of a dragon yin-yang symbol on the back.

As I existed my house, leaving to get some groceries, I heard some commotion, not only that, a presence similar to my own, but much younger.

As I entered the courtyard I saw a child climbing up onto the fountain, calling himself Lloyd Garmadon, demanding candy.

I also saw some ninja conversing with themselves, looking slightly disappointed. 'Judging by the fact that they have the have the golden weapons they were probably expecting Lord Garmadon.'

I watched as the people of the village began to come out from hiding, realizing that Lloyd wasn't a threat. They began booing him. "Give me your candy, or else I'll release the serpentine on you!"

The villagers started jeering at him. Lloyd popped open a can of rubber snakes, the villagers responded by throwing vegetables at him. "ugh! No, wait! I asked for candy, not vegetables. I hate vegetables!" He yelled, as the villagers continued to throw their vegetables at him.

I saw the ninja moving towards Lloyd, grabbing off the fountain. "Don't worry folks. We'll take care of this." One of them said, the black one with the earth dragon design on his gi. "Bow down to me or suffer my wrath!" Lloyd said as grunted. "I'll give you to the count of three. One, two. . . " I heard as the ninja continued to bring him further into the village. "Two and a half!" He yelled.

A few seconds later, the ninja hanged him up on a sign to a candy shop by his hoodie. "You've just made me your nemesis! Mark my words, you'll pay for this!" Lloyd said, as he was wiggling from the sign.

I saw as the white ninja walked up to the shop and bought some candy, handing some to the others. "Next time, try paying for your candy. " said the black one. "Crime doesn't pay muchacho. You can take that to the bank." Said the red one.

The blue one began eating the cotton candy. "Mm, cotton candy." He said, whilst Lloyd grunted in anger.

After a while as the ninja left, I began to help the child get down from the sign. He looked at me in surprise. "Why are you helping me." He asked, looking up at me. "You are a child, while going around pretending to be your father demanding candy wasn't the best solution of acquiring it, you're still just a young boy, the ninja should have at least got you down. Come you look like you haven't eaten in a while." I said, whilst taking the boys hand, bringing him to my abode.

"Do you want some noodles?" I asked, he looked like he about to refuse, but his stomach started growling. "Yes please." He muttered, almost a whisper.

(POV Akira)

After eating Lloyd decided to leave, something about finding a way to get revenge on the ninja, its been a few hours since then.

Suddenly the door was broken down, I turned and saw two hypnobrai warriors breaking in, I grabbed both my Naginata and my Anacondrai sword, holstering the Naginata on my back "Are you two sure you wanna do this?" I said as I drew my sword, their eyes widening, recognizing it. "That's an Anacondrai blade!" One said as they began backing away, my right hand started to glow purple.

Crash! I through the front of the house, the wall crumbled. 'Well, not like I was going to stay for much longer.' I thought, as I exited the house I saw hypnobrai hypnotizing everyone in the village, stealing candy?

I then noticed Lloyd walking around with cart full of candy. "I'm never coming down from this sugar high." He said as he cheered in excitement, right as the ninja landed in front of him. "Sorry to bust your buzz, little Garmadon." The black one. "But it's already past your bedtime." The blue one. "Get them!" Lloyd said, commanding the serpentine, the hypnobrai general obeying his commands.

Rattling his tail. "Seize them!" He yelled. "The serpentine? They're real?" The red one said, as the both the serpentine and the hypnotized villagers walked towards them, surrounding them. "It's not just them we have to worry about. The whole village has been hypnotized." The black one said. As they began backing away, the blue one began to swing his nunchucks around in the air, preparing to strike, the white one stopped him.

"No. Our weapons are too unstable. We could do more harm than good." The white one. "I guess that leaves us with: run!" Yelled the blue one.

As they began running off, I went to confront Lloyd. "Lloyd! What do you think you're doing? " I said, questioning his actions whilst backhanding a serpent in the nose as they tried to sneak up on me. "Hey! Leave her alone she's good!" He said, the other serpentine not bothering with me anymore, as I look at him questioningly.

"I did what I said I would do and release the serpentine." He said. I sighed, he was still just a child, I began to look around, seeing the ninja fight, they were sloppy and out of shape, the red tried to use Spinjitsu, only for it to wobble and make him hit a wall.

I noticed Lloyd running towards the fountain, likely trying to get away from the ninja. "Ha! Consider this a warning, ninja." He said, cackling as ran with the cart of candy, he began looking back towards the ninja, not realizing that the white one threw his shurikens in front of the carts wheels, freezing the ground.

"Ninja, go!" The white one said as he used Spinjitsu. "Aah! My candy!" Lloyd yelled as the cart's wheels hit the ice covered shurikens and tripped over the cart. "Sensei was right. Never put off until tomorrow what can be done today. We should've dealt with you the first time around." He said. "Aa! Retreat!" Lloyd yelled. "Retreat!" The general yelled, resounding Lloyd's command.

With a swift, almost imperceptible movement, my hand glowed silver then to a multicolored state, a reminder of my true power, I unleashed a small pulse of the elemental power of gravity that sent the white ninja stumbling backward, disrupting his pursuit of Lloyd. "Whoa! How did you do that?" Lloyd exclaimed, his eyes wide with surprise. "Hey! Why are you picking me up?" He protested as I scooped him up, my grip firm but gentle. "I'm helping you escape." I replied, my voice calm but firm. "And I'm coming with you. You're far too young to be wandering around unsupervised, especially with Hypnobrai on the loose." I continued, following the serpentine's trail back towards their tomb.

—————————-

As we got inside the tomb I put Lloyd down. "Uh, candy. I need candy." He said, grumbling. I pulled a container of food out from my cloak and gave it to him. "Here. You'll need to more than just candy if you want to regain your energy." I said, as he accepted the food. I heard the general conversing with about Lloyd, talking about him, arguing about how he set them free and how he's not one of them. But I didn't really pay attention to them, I was busy making sure Lloyd ate all his food.

That's chapter 2 it took a bit longer than expected as I had to watch and use the subtitles from the first episode to gain the dialogue. Please let me know how you like it.

I also ended up changing a part near the end of chapter. I was originally going to have Akira use shockwave to push Zane away from Lloyd but then I decided to change and refine it the best I could.

I also decided to finish watching season two of dragons rising, which is one of the reasons I decided to change it as well as mentioning her hand glowing in a multicolored state, similar to Nokt when he had all the elements.

Next chapter will be updated first on this website. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
