One piece: Evolving Towards a New Race

By the morning of the next day, Ars decided to go with his previous thought on how to create the new planet.

He went to the machine, introduced the two parameters for land and water, and then hit randomize, so the machine would create the land masses and the oceans by itself. After that he checked how long it would take to create the planet, and even with the machine transporting materials from all over the universe almost instantly, it would take 3 months to finish. Apparently that was the minimum time to make the world livable, first it would make things like bacterias and microscopic life, then fungus, plants and insects, then most animals, then finally it would be possible for humans and other intelligent races to come live there, Ars simply didn't know if sea kings would be included into intelligent races or fishes. 

Ars decided to wait at least one year before coming to investigate for the first time.

The ones with intelligence would need permission from Ars, to be relocated there, but he already decided to let the planet have diverse races, from the smallest ones to the biggest ones.

 Ars also noticed the number 100 on the right of the top of the screen. After investigating, the machine was making 1h in the current world equal to 100 years on the new planet. Ars could change it, but for now he let it be at that rate for now, and would only change it when at the start of creating his kingdom on the new planet.

He was getting out of the cave when he spotted Oak and Tom having difficulties, he approached, and then posed the question.

"Good morning! Is everything alright?"

They both looked at him, greeted him back, and then Tom answered. " We could get by with the swords and sabers to cut the wood, but now to build any building properly we need proper tools." 

Oak then continued "We could improvise something, but it would be of poor quality, and making the tools would take too long for how much use we could give them before having to repair them, so we were discussing the best way to do this. "

Ars thought about it, and quickly decided to go to a nearby island where they could get what they wanted, and not only that he also could try to recruit more people.

"Then let's use our boat to go buy some!" Ars exclaimed and the other two happily agreed with the decision.

With that Ars went to talk with Rook and Koral about the trip, and Oak and Tom followed him there. When he arrived Rook was talking with Koral he greeted them, and they greeted him back.

"Good morning! Oak and Tom need tools so we are going for a trip to buy them and try to get a few more people if possible. We won't be able to bring too many things or many people but even just a few will help I think. Do you guys need something? "

Koral nodded, and quickly replied" If you could bring me along I could buy medicine too!"

On the other hand Rook shook his head "Not for me today! I was talking with my sister about what I want to do in the future. I want to be a guard, so I can protect everyone!" 

Ars accepted his choice, and said to him "I will be counting on you to protect our civilians in the future!" Ars was happy with Rook's decision after all who doesn't want someone protecting you and your people when it's needed, and while Ars wanted to become strong himself so he didn't intend on needing protection, it was nice to have companions watching your back.

Oak, when everyone was making plans suddenly said "I think i will stay behind with Rook and Lily, after all since Tom is going he will know the needed tools. And I could enjoy some time with my granddaughter."

Everyone accepted his decision, and then, when everything was prepared they left for the boat. Once there Ars helped Koral get in, and when he looked at Tom, he was looking at them and said "I will swim there, been a while since i swam anywhere and it feels good to go for a swim"

Ars and Koral nodded and then started navigating the ship towards the closest place that could have what they needed, an island that was just a few tens of miles away.

The way there was calm, Koral got herself into a bikini and went to the small space in front of the ship, laid down without saying anything and went for a nap, Ars looking at that didn't know what to say, or how to react. He thought to himself 'The trip isn't that long…'

After nearly an hour they got to the destination, it was a small poor kingdom that every year would send almost all of its money as a heavenly tribute, like almost all kingdoms around, but its rulers lived quite well. So almost everyone else was starving and homeless with the exception of a few nobles close to the king, this was the case for a lot of kingdoms, but while this kingdom had it bad, it wasn't the worst.

Once there,Tom decided to stay and guard the ship, the other two went to a workshop to get the tools that were on a list that Tom prepared before arriving, and then they would take them back to the ship before going for the medical supplies.

They found a workshop where they sold the tools after a few minutes of searching the city. Ars saw the person responsible for the shop and approached him.

"Hello! Do you have the tools on this list?" Ars gave the man the list but asked if they had them for sale, he was slightly worried that they wouldn't have them all , after all the kingdom was pretty poor so he thought they might not have them currently, but luckly they had them.

After a few minutes of waiting the vendor returned and gave them the tools to Ars "Here, it's 150.000 berries."

"Do you have axes?" Ars decided to buy axes at that moment.

"Yes we do! How many do you want ?" the Vendor asked back.

" I would like four." Ars answered and the vendor turned back and screamed "HEEEEY!! Bring me four axes!" 

After a minute or two, a young man appeared with the axes and gave them to Ars, the vendor smiling, looked at Ars and said "It's 5000 berries each."

Ars took out 170.000 berries and gave them to the vendor.

After that they returned to the ship, and gave the tools to Tom.

"Ho? You remembered to buy axes. Let me check the tools." Tom put the axes on the ship and then started to inspect the tools, and after a while he turned back and asked "Not bad ... You two are going to buy medicine right?"

Koral nodded, and Ars asked, "Do you need something else?" 

"Not for now, but you guys should hurry, we are attracting quite a few curious people."

Ars looked around and saw people not too far away looking over and answered "Will do!"

Ars and Koral, knowing it could get troublesome, rushed to get the medical supplies. Once they arrived at a place where medicines were sold, Ars looked at Koral and asked "Do you need me to go with you?"

Koral shook her head "No I can buy them but give me at least 100.000 berries!"

Ars nodded, took out the money and gave it to her, and waited for a few minutes, after which Koral came out with a bag that Ars assumed was medicine.

"Are we done here ?" Ars asked, and Koral nodded and said " Mmh, we can go back to the ship."

When they arrived back at the ship location, they were shocked to discover that although the ship did attract trouble it wasn't the trouble they were thinking of. There were a bunch of people that wanted to leave with them. Normally that wouldn't be a bad thing, the problem was the number of people, the ship was surrounded by tens of malnourished people. 

Ars could hear people complaining with "They don't want to help us" or with "Typical bastards!"

Ars to make his presence known and his stance clear, exclaimed loudly "It's not that we don't wanna help you, it's that we can't, the ship is too small to take everyone!!" 

That silenced most of them, since those people also knew that, so when Ars spoke a representative came out " We have a way to solve the lack of a ship. You don't need to worry about that, but we might need your help with getting the ship… You see a few days ago a group of pirates got caught, not everyone, but 90% of the crew. The remaining pirates escaped with the ship, but we know where they hid with the ship, but the remaining crew members are all hiding there. You help us get the ship so we can follow you, and you also can keep any gold they have."

Ars also added, to check their reactions " Ho yeah, i should warn you, the place where we are is just getting started, so it might not be a dream place, if you think we are going to a much better place in questions of survivability, you might be wrong on a few points, there will be things that are better and things that will be worse. "

Everyone looked at each other and started talking with each other, when done quite a few decided to back off from the idea, and only 9 people remained.

The representative looked at us a little bit embarrassed by how many people left, but he quickly regained his morale and started to talk about the pirates.

"First there are 10 pirates remaining, and the plan is to go and jump them with numbers."

Ars froze in shock by how stupid that idea was, even Koral and Tom had their eyes twitching from how stupid it sounded, then Ars recovered, and answered back "That's beyond stupid, not only are they in better physical shape than you guys but they might also have ranged weapons, your plan will only get you guys killed!! " 

Ars looked at them exasperated and said "Give me a few minutes and the location from the pirates, i will try to formulate a plan where all of you guys don't die…. "

"Well the pirates are anchored on an island nearby, that during the low tide connects with the main island."

Ars looked at him like he was an idiot….

"Have you ever considered that with that, they only have a place to guard if someone decides to attack them by land ???"

The representative looked shocked with that info, Ars looked at the others that had awkward smiles on their faces because they knew their leader was an idiot. But they didn't mind, because that was exactly why they chose him, he didn't think of consequences so he had an easier time talking with people that could kill them on a whim without fear.

 Ars now looked at him with pity, he realized that he didn't just look like an idiot… HE WAS A IDIOT!!!
