ONE PIECE: FRAGMENT EXTRACTION SYSTEM

Chapter 12: CHAPTER 12

In the blink of an eye, two days had passed.

"It's been two days of sailing. According to the map, I should be heading toward the Grand Line. So why haven't I seen any iconic landmarks yet?"

Standing on the deck, Leone scratched his head while looking at the map, puzzled. He had to admit that while he was confident in his strength, when it came to navigation, he was utterly hopeless.

Even with a map in hand, he couldn't determine his exact location.

"Navigation is such a headache!"

Lying down on the deck, Leone let out a long sigh. "When will I find a navigator like Nami to be my partner, just like Luffy?"

Luffy, as a captain, aside from his absurd strength and unwavering will, was essentially clueless when it came to navigation. But thanks to his reliable crewmates, he could sail forward without worry.

Leone, however, was alone. At this rate, who knew when he would even reach the Grand Line?

His goal was to catch up to Luffy, enter the New World, and challenge the Four Emperors!

"A navigator… where can I find a navigator?!"

Just as he was lamenting his predicament—

Biu!

A black iron cannonball tore through the air, heading straight for his ship, the Shinigami.

"What was that?"

Hearing the incoming projectile, Leone sprang to his feet. His eyes quickly locked onto the cannonball streaking toward him through the sky.

"Enemy attack!"

Two words flashed through Leone's mind. In a sea dominated by pirates, it wasn't uncommon for battles to break out over treasure or territory.

"They actually dared to fire at me? Are they tired of living?!"

Someone had the audacity to attack his ship? Leone couldn't let that slide.

"Well, if they have a navigator on board, I might as well take them along!"

His eyes gleamed with a dangerous light. Raising a finger, he quickly calculated the trajectory of the incoming cannonball using his high-speed vision.

Zing!

A burst of golden light shot out. The speed of light was incomprehensibly fast—before the cannonball could even reach its target, it was pierced and detonated in midair.

A thunderous explosion rocked the sea, sending waves crashing against the Shinigami.

"Found you."

Leone's sharp gaze locked onto a pirate ship in the distance. Its cannons were still aimed in his direction.

More cannonballs were fired in rapid succession, arcing through the sky like a deadly rain.

"Wait, I'm coming to you!"

A bloodthirsty grin spread across Leone's face as his figure vanished.

A golden beam of light shot across the ocean, closing in on the enemy ship at incredible speed.

"Fire the cannons! Keep your aim steady! Sink that ship!"

The pirate captain, a grizzled one-eyed man wearing a black eyepatch, brandished his cutlass as he shouted orders.

"Haha, Captain! Today's our lucky day! We just plundered a village, and now we've stumbled upon a fat prize!"

The crewman manning the observation post laughed gleefully. "Look at that ship! That's got to be worth at least a hundred million Berries! There must be a fortune aboard!"

Another crewman sneered. "That village we raided was dirt poor. We barely scraped together a million Berries, but at least the women made it worthwhile! After we sink that ship, we'll take the loot and celebrate!"

Their captain, the notorious One-Eyed Barrion, roared with laughter. His name was well-known on Pirate Street—with a bounty of 26 million Berries, he was a feared and ruthless pirate.

In the waters surrounding the Goa Kingdom, One-Eyed Barrion ruled with an iron fist. His crimes were numerous, and his methods were brutal. Even infamous figures like Scar Walker and Evil-Toothed Garcia showed him respect.

And now, fresh from pillaging a village, One-Eyed Barrion had set his sights on a new target.

Little did he know, he had just provoked the wrong opponent.

The village was too poor to offer much in terms of wealth, which only fueled One-Eyed Barrion's fury. Enraged, he slaughtered all the men, abducted the women onto his ship, and set fire to the village before departing.

Just as he was about to indulge in his spoils, a crew member rushed down to report an unexpected sight—a pirate ship of unknown origin had entered their waters.

And the crucial point? This ship didn't bear the flag of any familiar pirate crew—it was a complete outsider!

The waters near the Goa Kingdom were considered their territory, and for an unknown pirate ship to intrude so brazenly? There was no way One-Eyed Barrion would let them off so easily.

"Sink that ship! If they dare trespass, they'll pay the price!" he ordered, hoping to recover some of the losses from the raid.

Suddenly, a sharp voice cut through the tension—

"Captain! A yellow flash is approaching fast!"

The lookout, peering through a telescope, had spotted something hurtling toward them at impossible speed.

"Yellow flash?" One-Eyed Barrion frowned in confusion.

"It's me."

A voice, calm and collected, sounded from right behind them.

Barrion and his men whipped around in shock. There, lounging on the captain's chair with one leg casually draped over the other, was a boy—fifteen, maybe sixteen—dressed in a hunter's attire, gazing at them with an air of nonchalance.

"You… When did you get on board?! Why didn't anyone notice?!"

The entire crew was stunned. A stranger had infiltrated their ship unnoticed, and if he had chosen to attack from behind… the thought alone sent shivers down their spines.

Though rattled, they wasted no time. Guns were drawn in an instant, all aimed directly at the intruder.

"I just walked on," the boy—Leone—shrugged, reclining further into the seat. "No tricks, no special effects. Simple as that."

"Boy, that's my seat," Barrion growled, his voice low and dangerous.

From his belt, he unhooked a long chain attached to a brutal spiked iron ball—an extended version of a meteor hammer. It was a weapon that had crushed the skulls of countless enemies.

"Really? No wonder it's so comfortable," Leone mused, patting the tiger-skin draped over the chair. "This is nice. Maybe I should get one too… Oh well, guess I'll just take this seat instead."

"You little brat, you think you can just waltz in here and act like you own the place?! Enough talk—DIE!"

With a roar, One-Eyed Barrion swung his weapon, the spiked ball hurtling toward Leone with bone-shattering force.

A bounty of 26 million beli wasn't for nothing—any ordinary man would have been reduced to pulp before he could react.

But Leone was no ordinary man.

"One-Eyed Barrion, bounty—26 million beli," Leone murmured, unbothered. "Shame I'm out at sea. Can't exactly cash in your head, and if I keep it too long, it'll start to stink. So…"

His figure vanished—chair and all.

The meteor hammer smashed down, splintering the deck with a deafening crack.

"Huh?! Where'd he go?!" Barrion's eyes darted around in panic.

"Up here."

A voice came from above.

Barrion barely had time to look up before a boot filled his vision—

BOOM!

The deck shattered beneath the impact, and One-Eyed Barrion was sent crashing through the ship's hull, vanishing into the wreckage below.
