One Piece: My code name is Green Bull

Chapter 122: The Future World's Greatest Swordsman

Seeing Jon effortlessly wipe out the remaining pirates—and doing so with a unique technique—the young swordsman's normally calm and emotionless eyes flickered with surprise and doubt.

"Judging by your appearance, you're not a pirate. I am Marine Headquarters Commander, Jon Lyons."

After dealing with the pirates, Jon took the initiative to speak to the young swordsman.

The young man replied indifferently, "Dracule Mihawk."

"Just as I thought."

Hearing the name, Jon's eyes sharpened.

It was exactly as he had guessed—this young swordsman was indeed Hawkeye Mihawk.

However, it wasn't yet appropriate to call him "Hawkeye."

Though his gaze was sharp, he was still far from becoming the future World's Greatest Swordsman.

Since his guess was confirmed, Jon's interest grew.

"Mihawk, huh? I can see you're skilled with the sword. Have you ever considered joining the Marines? We have many master swordsmen—training with them could help you improve."

From Mihawk's earlier remark about practicing his swordsmanship, Jon could tell that Mihawk was either just starting out or had only recently begun his journey.

Otherwise, he wouldn't waste his time fighting weak pirates—he would seek out renowned swordsmen instead.

"Not interested."

Mihawk's tone was cold and direct, rejecting the offer immediately.

He had always walked alone—even in his pursuit of sword mastery, he had never thought of relying on others, let alone joining the Marines.

Getting rejected outright, Jon felt a bit awkward, but he wasn't upset.

His ego wasn't that fragile.

"Fine, suit yourself. Do you need a ride? My ship can take you part of the way."

Mihawk shook his head.

"No need. I have my own boat."

He pointed to a small wooden boat tied to the side of the pirate ship—that was his vessel.

Jon couldn't help but admire Mihawk's boldness.

Sailing the open seas in such a tiny boat was no small feat.

Even at his young age, Mihawk already had a fearless spirit.

"Mihawk, technically, you defeated this pirate crew. That makes this ship your spoils. You can take whatever you want from it before I sink it to the bottom of the sea."

But Mihawk simply replied coldly, "I don't need anything."

Without another word, he jumped back into his small boat and sailed away.

"This kid really has a strong personality. Cold as ice."

Watching Mihawk depart, Jon chuckled to himself.

This guy was a true sword fanatic—he cared only about swordsmanship and nothing else.

Jon was almost glad he wasn't a swordsman himself—otherwise, Mihawk would probably challenge him to a duel.

Cleaning Up the Pirate Ship

"Commander Jon, do you need our help?"

Jon's ship had finally caught up, and the crew called out to him.

"Send a few men over to clean this up. Take anything valuable."

A pirate ship was bound to have some treasures.

The sailors searched the ship for a while and returned with a large haul, carrying bags of treasure and cash, looking thrilled.

Back on his own ship, Jon turned toward the pirate vessel and raised his right leg.

"Rankyaku!"

Several crescent-shaped shockwaves slashed through the air—

Splitting the pirate ship into pieces, sending it sinking into the depths.

"Commander Jon, these pirates were loaded! All the treasure and cash add up to over 50 million beli!"

"That much?"

Jon was genuinely surprised.

50 million beli wasn't a small amount.

Despite bounties often reaching tens or hundreds of millions, most pirates didn't actually carry that much cash.

"What should we do with it?"

The ship's captain, one of Lucien's men, remained calm and professional, even after seeing such a large sum.

Jon wasn't particularly interested in the money.

50 million was a lot, but his personal fortune was far greater.

"Distribute it among the crew. Consider it a bonus for your hard work. We still have a long journey ahead."

After all, Jon was technically on vacation—taking down pirates was his own initiative, not an official mission.

There was no need to report or turn over the spoils.

Since he couldn't use all the treasure himself, he might as well give it to the crew as payment.

"T-That's too much!"

The captain was stunned.

50 million beli?

They couldn't possibly accept such a massive reward.

"No, no, Commander! This is all thanks to you—we did nothing! We can't take it!"

No matter how much Jon insisted, the captain refused to accept.

Finally, Jon compromised.

"Fine. Exchange it all for cash, and we'll split it 50-50. I take half, and the rest goes to the crew. Consider it my payment for hiring you."

"What about Rear Admiral Lucien?"

"Don't worry, Lucien won't mind."

After thinking it over, the captain agreed.

If Jon also took a share, then it wouldn't look suspicious.

And since Jon himself vouched for them, they wouldn't face any trouble when returning to Marine Headquarters.

"Alright then, Commander Jon. We'll convert the treasure into cash and personally deliver half to you."

"Good. Now let's keep moving toward the third island."

A New Destination

50 million beli wasn't a big deal to Jon.

With his ability, he could easily produce food and earn it back.

The money came effortlessly, so giving it away didn't bother him.

What truly interested him was the next plant island.

Would it be the one he was searching for?

The chance encounter with Mihawk made Jon realize something—

The famous figures of the One Piece world were starting to emerge.

Even more importantly—

The time was approaching when Gol D. Roger would conquer the Grand Line and reach Laugh Tale.

Once Roger became the Pirate King, the entire world would descend into chaos.

Jon didn't know what role he would play or what changes he could make—

But he knew one thing for certain—

Strength was the foundation of everything.

Only by becoming powerful enough could he have the right to influence events.

The Third Island—A Dangerous Discovery

The third island was much farther away.

It took them seven to eight days to find it.

As the crew spotted land, Jon's heart pounded with excitement.

It wasn't just one island—

It was an entire archipelago.

Jon recalled something from his knowledge of the future.

Although he couldn't remember the exact name, he vividly remembered that Usopp had once landed on a similar archipelago.

This place matched the description perfectly.

He wasn't 100% certain yet, but his instincts told him—

If this was the island he had been searching for, then it would be full of danger.

With that in mind, Jon ordered the ship to stay back.

He would go alone.

As the green islands loomed ahead, Jon leaped off the ship—

And headed toward the unknown.
